This meditation is for opening your root chakra,

Which is responsible for feelings of security and grounding.

We're going to use sounding and muscular control,

Along with breathing and attention,

In order to open this part of both your physical and energetic bodies.

Make sure you're in a place where you feel comfortable humming out loud.

Please sit up straight and close your eyes.

Breathe gently through your nose.

Pay extra attention to your exhales.

See how long you can extend your exhales while still remaining comfortable.

After each breath in,

See if your next breath out can be a little bit longer than the last.

Continue breathing this way and bring your attention to your root,

Also known as your anus.

We're going to do our first round of sounding.

The frequency of the root chakra is the musical note C.

You can follow along with my humming,

But don't worry if you fall out of pace or even out of pitch.

Do your best to focus on the frequency of the sound as you keep your attention on your root.

Continue breathing,

Extending your exhales,

As we get ready to start with middle C.

Breathe in.

Notice how you feel after the vibration of the sound as when we can best feel it in our bodies.

Return to breathing without sound,

Continuing to extend your exhales as long as comfortable.

Your root chakra is both a beginning and an end point.

It was already active when you were born,

Responsible for the most basic survival instinct to seek nourishment from your mother.

It is located at the end of your digestive tract.

It's where you literally release what your body no longer needs.

The ring muscles of this part of your body you first learn to control around the time that you learn the meaning of the word,

No.

It was a time in your life that you probably don't remember,

As it was in your earliest stage of independence.

If you have any reoccurring feelings of insecurity,

It's possible that something was imprinted at this stage that can also be released.

So now we're going to purposely contract these muscles to signal to your subconscious that you do have control.

On your next inhalation,

Squeeze your ring muscles for an entire breath in,

Then release on your exhalation nice and slow.

Do this for a few more breaths.

Squeeze on the inhale,

Release on the exhale.

Squeeze on the inhale,

Release on the exhale.

Now we'll do this with sound.

Again,

Middle C.

Inhale,

Contract.

Inhale,

Contract.

One more.

You can stop contracting and sounding now and simply breathe.

Notice how your root feels.

Recognize that you have full control over the muscles in this area.

You have full control over your personal security.

You and only you decide whether these muscles contract or relax.

You and only you decide whether you contract or relax.

You and only you decide whether you contract or relax.

You and only you decide what you say yes or no to.

Keep your gentle attention on this part of your body.

See if you can soften your attention a little bit more as you continue to breathe,

Drawing out your exhales.

In this next round of humming,

I will add in some overtones.

You can simply hum the root notes.

Do your best to feel the vibration in this part of your body.

Breathe in.

Take a moment to allow yourself to smile inwardly.

Allow yourself to direct smiling,

Loving energy to your root,

To your sense of security.

And notice how good it feels to be safe and secure.

How good it feels for your root chakra to be relaxed,

Active,

And open.

Give yourself a moment to take that in as you continue to breathe,

Gently extending your exhales.

Our next two rounds of sounding,

We're going to change the octaves to see how it feels.

We're going to do a low C and then a high C.

If it feels comfortable,

You can match my humming.

Otherwise,

You can continue with the middle C as before,

Or simply listen and feel.

First,

We'll do a lower C.

This is the vibration of putting roots into the ground.

If you're going to sound with me,

Do your best to keep your belly relaxed and try to feel the vibration in your belly.

And try to feel the vibration in your chest,

Not your throat.

You can imagine reaching your energy downward and connecting with the earth.

Breathe in.

Notice how that feels in your body.

It's the vibration of rooting,

Of deep grounding.

You can visualize yourself connecting to the vibration of the earth.

Remember you're sitting on a giant rock flying in orbit around an even greater ball of fire.

Breathe,

Extending your exhales as long as comfortable.

Now we'll try a higher C.

If you're going to sound with me,

Do your best to keep your belly relaxed and try to feel the vibration in the bridge of your nose,

Not your throat.

Breathe in.

Notice how this feels in your body.

Notice how easy it is to expand when you feel safe and secure.

Notice how you can rise to new heights when you feel properly rooted.

Continue breathing without sound and notice the vibration in your body.

This is the vibration of feeling safe and secure,

The vibration of grounding.

No matter how you feel,

You're still breathing.

The vibration of grounding,

No matter what happened in your past,

Whether you can remember it or not,

There's nothing that can stop you now from reconnecting to this safe,

Secure,

Grounded,

Abundant vibration.

There's nothing that can stop you from growing and expanding from this rooted place.

Nothing that can stop you from welcoming abundance.

We will do two more rounds,

Returning to middle C,

As we prepare to return to waking life.

For these last breaths and soundings,

Focus on the vibration.

Feel whatever you can feel in your root chakra.

Breathe in.

And take a moment to feel,

Feel the vibration within you.

Last round,

Breathe in.

And as you go about your day today,

See if you can maintain awareness of this vibration.

You can always take a moment to hum this frequency to yourself.

And as an added invitation,

If your root chakra has been a concern lately,

And there's something in your physical home or metaphorical home that is out of order,

And you can do something about it,

Go do something about it today.

Otherwise,

Maintain some awareness on the vibration of the root chakra,

The feeling of groundedness,

Security,

And abundance.

I am planning on doing each session on the chakras as I found the throat one helpful. I found this one more difficult, probably because this is an area of difficulty for me. I think these would make an excellent course and would recommend. Clear, concise instructions with excellent sound. Thank you 🙏
