
Connecting With the Power Within
Run like the wind, with more power you ever realized possible.
Transcript
Welcome to this guided meditation for runners.
While you are warming up,
Take in three deep breaths and let go.
Once you've done this,
Return to your normal breathing.
Say to yourself,
I am here and now.
My body becomes more and more relaxed.
My body is free of all tension.
I release all fears,
Worries and concerns.
My mind is clear and open to the fresh energy I receive when I run.
Before you start to run,
Make sure that your back,
Head and shoulders are in a straight position.
Your hips are lifted upwards.
Your body is slightly bent forward in order to control your momentum.
You can choose to practice breathing only through your nose as much as you feel comfortable.
The more you practice nasal breathing,
The better your performance and endurance will be.
Relax your shoulders,
Muscles and other parts of your body that may be tense.
You might want to create a personal mantra which helps you clear your mind of distracting thoughts and to focus you in on the present moment.
This mantra can be a word,
Phrase or a sentence which you repeat mentally over and over during your running journey.
An example of a mantra could be something like I am energized.
Run light,
Run smart.
I feel connected to the power source.
It could even be a one word mantra such as power,
Strength or present.
When we start to run consciously,
We become one breath,
One step,
One path in front of us,
One moment at a time.
As we progress further we become one with running and the environment.
With every step we take we are the rhythm of oneness of the universe.
While you are running,
Focus your attention on your breath.
No matter how long or short,
Deep or shallow,
Observe it as it is.
See the air enter your nostrils,
Travelling down towards your lungs.
That helps give the air a colour,
See this colour enter your body.
This air that you are breathing in comes with a certain energy that empowers your entire body,
Beyond belief.
Breathe it in fully.
See this air revitalizing every single cell it encounters within your system,
Cleansing,
Boosting,
Shots of adrenaline firing within.
As you breathe out,
Notice how your diaphragm,
Abdominal muscles and the muscles between your ribs change,
Contracting on the breath out,
Expanding on your inward breath.
After these next few moments,
Enjoy this natural sensation of breath.
Are there any thoughts entering your mind at this time?
Observe them.
They may come as feelings,
Memories,
Images or other sensations.
Whatever comes to your mind,
Accept it as it is,
Let it come and then go and then focus on your breath again.
Take this time right now to empty your mind of all thought.
No words,
No emotions,
No mind.
If a thought comes,
Let it be and go back to focus on your breathing.
At this point,
While you are running and breathing,
In and out,
Conscious of your breath,
You can focus your attention on the steps you take.
Be aware of how your feet touch the ground.
Imagine your legs,
Knees,
Joints and muscles are strong and flexible as springs.
Imagine how your feet graciously and lightly touch the ground.
Feel how your feet propel you,
Automatically moving you forward.
Machine like,
Powerful mechanics.
There's no stopping.
Keep it going,
Keep it going holding on to these answers with Feel all the subtle movements of one foot touching the ground and pushing off while the other one is lifted and thrust forward.
The hips and waist are steady.
The arms move from your shoulders in a relaxed and steady rhythm.
Punching their way through the air,
Feel the air surrounding your arms,
Your wrists,
Your hands and fingers.
Look ahead.
Enjoy the synchronous movements of your arms and legs.
See the cycling movements of your legs for a while.
Run consciously at your own pace.
Enjoy the propelling force of your body.
Feel the force of your body.
Feel the force of your body.
Feel the force of your body.
Feel the force of your body.
Be grateful for all your body wisdom.
Be grateful for this moment and this one and the next.
You are in tune with the present moment.
This is the moment for Degas.
Not yesterday,
Not tomorrow,

With every breath you take,
You are rebirthing into a new being.
Old cells are dying.
New energy cells are being made.
At this moment,
Be aware of all your body sensations you feel.
Be aware of the warm or cold sensations in your body.
If you are sweating,
Where is the sweat falling?
Is it falling on your forehead,
Face,
Down your back or chest or other parts of your body?
Feel how the moisture of your sweat cools your body.
Feel its coolness on your skin.
Be aware of the cooling sensation when the breeze blows and touches your skin.
Become one with all that is.
Live this moment.
Live this moment.
There may be some unpleasant physical experiences going on within your body,
Such as cramps,
Aches or pains.
If so,
Consider them as visitors to your consciousness.
If they arise,
Observe them and acknowledge them as they are,
Let them come and go.
As soon as you accept them,
They will gradually disappear.
You are in the moment now.
Live it.
Live it 100%.
As you are more aware of every breath and step you take,
You also become more attuned to the natural and efficient way of running and the energy of your body.
Tune in now to what surface you are running.
Feel it,
Step by step,
Under your feet.
Every time your feet touch the ground,
Feel that connection with the earth.
Feel the power arise from deep within the core of the earth,
Reaching your feet and moving up throughout your entire body.
Energizing you,
Refreshing you,
Keeping you 100% in this moment.
Stay with this earth connection as you run.

The weather.
See this weather as though you were seeing it for the first time.
If the sun is out,
See it for the first time.
If there are clouds,
See them for the first time.
Feel it.
Embrace the heat or cold.

The clouds or the rain.
Take this time to run and be one with all that is present around you.

You respond immediately to everything that happens to you.
Your body and mind are not trapped in the past or the future.
Whatever comes to your mind,
Embrace it as it is.
Let all fears,
Worries and feelings just come and go.

Imagine yourself now as the observer watching for my love.
Focus your attention on your heart area.
Feel the connection with your true being.
With every heartbeat,
Feel all the unconditional love in your heart area.
With every step you take,
Feel the child-like joy and happiness arise from your heart.
Every step you take is easy and effortless just the way a child runs.
Tap into that part of you.
The part of you that wants to run for the sake of running.

Ran a 5 mile race with this and it was amazing. Wasn’t quite long enough, but by 31 min in I was at the place where I could just pull my earbuds out and be present for the last km.
