Welcome friends,
It's Rukmini.
Today we're going to embark on a meditation for dealing with difficult people.
Although we cannot change anybody except ourselves,
There are some things we can do energetically to help improve the situation.
So I invite you to lay down on a comfortable surface as though you're going to take a nap.
Inhaling deeply.
Exhaling strongly.
Become completely and totally comfortable.
Even a bolster under your knees can be nice.
Beautiful.
Continue to inhale and as you do,
Pull all the stressors from the corners of your body into one location.
Gather them all up and blow them out.
Let's do that again.
Inhaling and gathering all the stressors from all the corners of your body.
Gather them together and blow them out.
On your next inhale,
I want you to let go completely.
Just let everything go.
There's no need to worry about the situation anymore because it's being taken care of right now.
Inhaling again and letting go even more.
Envision for a moment your head being heavy as a stone.
Feel it sinking down into the surface of the bed,
It's pulling you down.
Followed by your shoulders and arms,
Heavy like lead.
Your body,
Your torso,
Your hips all heavy,
Being pulled down deeper,
Deeper,
Legs.
Feel them,
They can't move,
They're so heavy right now.
Your feet being pulled into the ground.
Your whole body melting deeper,
Deeper down.
Feel it.
Feel your entire body being pulled down,
Heavy,
Sinking deeper,
Deeper.
Excellent.
And now allow all the heaviness to drain away.
Feel your head light like a cloud,
Feel it drifting.
Your shoulders and arms and torso,
All the lead draining out,
Light and feathery.
Hips and legs,
Feel them just draining light as though you could lift off the bed.
Legs and feet,
Light and fluffy like a cloud drifting upward,
Lightness,
Fluffy,
Beautiful.
You walk into a room,
The room is empty and you see this person that you're having a hard time with in front of you but their back is to you.
You stand there for a moment and suddenly they turn to you.
They recognize you right away and they open their arms wide.
They smile a huge smile and you're taken aback for a second but they are genuinely happy to see you.
They motion for you to come over and you do and you open your arms and they give you this huge hug and they're warm and tender and honest and they whisper in your ear,
I'm sorry.
And as you pull back,
They're smiling at you.
You can see their face lit up,
Happy,
So happy to see you.
They are genuinely sorry and you know that and you feel good and you smile too.
You look at them and they say,
I'm so happy to work with you.
I admire what you do.
You do such great work.
Come here,
Let me hug you again and you hug them again.
You step back,
You know that they are genuine and anytime you are having trouble with this person,
I want you to picture yourself in this room with them.
I want you to see them smiling at you with their arms wide open.
I want you to feel them hugging you and telling you how proud they are of you and how happy they are to work with you and how much they admire you and I want that to be your new reality because it is your reality.
Accept nothing less,
This is your new reality.
Come back to your body slowly,
Begin to feel yourself along the bed or the surface you're laying on and know that something has shifted.
Now you have the tools to deal with this difficult person who is no longer difficult.
They appreciate and admire you for everything that you do.
Thank you for joining me and for trusting me with this problem that is no longer a problem.
Stay well.
