Welcome to this guided meditation,
What force is meditating you?
So just sit in a comfortable position,
Close your eyes,
And let the upcoming words and pointers stream into your heart.
Most beings that start meditating are assuming that they are the one that is meditating.
They assume that there is a person that is meditating.
Seriously so.
Even long term meditators have become deeply identified as meditators.
Meditating from this identified space doesn't usually bring much of a relaxing and awakening experience.
I can't meditate or I have too many distracting and uncomfortable thoughts are common herd responses.
Let's shortly look into the nature of reality before we start to try to make clear what it actually is that is meditating you.
If you are kinda new to this,
Which is totally fine,
You might think you are the body with all its thoughts,
Feelings and emotions.
This isn't actually true.
If this message is new to you,
Just for now consider that this isn't true.
Since we are using words that can only point to truth,
Let's for now say that what you are is nonpersonal awareness.
Beyond and before thoughts,
Feelings and sensations,
Something unspeakable is.
Nameless and formless.
Nonpersonal and fully aware.
Nonpersonal awareness,
Art to grasp with the mind.
So let's leave that mind chopless for now,
And explore some more.
Breathing,
Breathing is automatically happening,
Doesn't it?
Isn't that wondrous in and of itself?
Check this right now.
You are breathing,
Aren't you?
Isn't that magical?
Or are we no longer seeing the magic of this simple fact?
Some benevolent force is making you breathe,
Is keeping you alive,
Automatically so.
Something wants you to be alive,
Isn't that lovely?
Isn't that love at work?
How precious.
Can you see the preciousness in this?
So who is meditating here right now?
Your body,
Your thoughts and feelings,
Your mind?
Were you truly in control when you decided to start listening to this recording?
As in any moment,
Life always brings you exactly right here,
Right now.
Automatically so.
Isn't that truly wonderful in and of itself?
Something brought you here,
Right now,
Listening to these words,
Digesting these words,
Interpreting them,
Holding on to them,
Letting them go,
Seeing them,
Unseeing them.
Trying to understand,
Trying to approach them in a wise and meditative way,
Who knows even as a true meditator.
Being,
Wanting,
Needing.
Listen,
My friend,
You've been trying enough,
Truly.
You may stop all trying.
There's no need to try to understand anything.
There's no need to try,
Want or demand anything at all.
This benevolent force that is making you breathe,
Keeping you alive,
Wanting you to live,
And is keeping you busy with all kinds of temporary experiences,
Is never ever trying anything.
This benevolent force,
This non-personal awareness itself,
Is never ever demanding anything,
Doesn't want anything.
It just simply is.
And this is-ness is what you are.
What you are is non-personal awareness,
One could say.
These are all just words,
But there's no person to be found in any of this.
Non-personal,
Non-personal awareness.
Although it seems that you are always trying to improve yourself,
Paradoxically so,
You,
As your true you,
Just are without any effort.
Not demanding anything.
Not trying anything,
Not wanting anything from anything.
Not trying to improve anything.
There might be a feeling of a you as a person that took the effort of sitting down or laying down,
Putting on this recording.
Relatively speaking this might be so.
But if you look closely,
Is it possible that this same benevolent force is orchestrating all these experiences,
Making them effortlessly happen?
You might want to consider the following.
It ain't you,
This illusionary identified person that will meditate.
It is this benevolent loving awareness.
This non-personal awareness that's using your bodily vehicle to open up to itself.
More accurately stated,
It is the true you,
The non-personal awareness,
Playing its divine play.
What's more,
It ain't this illusionary identified person that will meditate.
You as this body-mind mechanism will not meditate.
Meditation will happen through you.
So that ticks off a lot of pressure,
Doesn't it?
Something indescribable which we may call non-personal awareness or love or God or a higher benevolent force,
Whatever resonates,
Is guiding your body-mind system towards itself,
Towards unconditional ease and peace,
Making your system aware of the fact that all phenomena are impermanent.
Except you,
You always are,
As this unspeakable loving force that is the substratum of all,
You.
The you beyond your name,
Thoughts,
Feelings,
Emotions and sensations.
Isn't that wonderful,
You don't even have to meditate.
It's done for you.
So just sit and relax.
Here we go.
So since breathing is already automatically happening,
There's no need to change anything.
This is exactly what wants to be transmitted throughout the entire meditation.
There's no need to change anything.
Just calmly sit and watch the breathing automatically happening.
No need to change anything.
There's nothing for you to do right now.
Nothing to change.
Nothing to want.
All is taken care of,
No effort is needed.
It isn't you,
The illusionary person that is meditating,
Remember?
Just calmly enjoy this moment of non-action.
And if it doesn't feel enjoyable at all,
Know that beyond any feeling of discomfort,
A loving awareness is always available.
It's asking your thinking mind to slightly shift its attention from personal attachment,
Personal neediness,
Personal clinging to deep wide open,
Spacious loving awareness.
This awareness that is non-personal and the same for all beings.
Can you let this sink in beyond the mind?
There's no personal awareness for him and one for her or them.
It's one of a kindless kind,
Ungraspable,
Unaffected and always inseparable from all worldly phenomena.
But although ungraspable and for humankind invisible,
It for sure is ever so trustworthy.
If humans would learn to reconnect and fully trust in this source of existence,
This non-personal awareness,
Life would be unfolding way more fluent.
Less suffering,
Less fear,
Less anger and less despair.
Only by reconnecting beyond the habitual thinking mind.
So for the purpose of this practice,
Right now gather all your uncomfortable thoughts and feelings and drop them into infinite space.
Like a magician,
Have them disappear instantly again and again.
So after the meditation,
During all your daily activities,
As soon as it automatically arises to do so,
Relax all thoughts,
Give them back to the universe,
Discard the habitual thought patterns,
And fully open to that which remains when all thoughts cease to exist in that short moment.
And as you do so,
Just calmly watch the breathing automatically happening from time to time,
Going back to the physical sensations of the breathing,
Going in and out.
Let's stay here for a while.
Mindful breathing.
Watching it go in and out,
And knowing that some benevolent force right now is breathing you,
Is always breathing you,
Is always keeping you alive,
Showing that it wants you to live.
No breath equals no life as you perceive it to be,
As this bodily vehicle.
No breath doesn't mean the end of non-personal awareness.
No,
Doesn't mean the end of consciousness.
No breath doesn't mean the end of you.
No breath.
Okay,
Again,
Watching the breath going in and out,
And knowing that some benevolent force is breathing you,
Making you live.
Such wonder,
Such magic.
There is no need to change anything.
If any uncomfortable feelings do arise,
Or if the tendency to get up and open your eyes arises,
Just go back to the breath.
Go back to this simple knowing that some benevolent force is breathing you.
Some benevolent force,
Which again we could call this non-personal awareness,
Is meditating you,
Is meditating this body-mind system.
There is no need for you as this body-mind system to do anything,
To put in any effort.
Meditation is done through you.
Know this,
And be aware of this.
Be aware of the fact that you are always,
Even before the next thought arises,
Perfectly fine,
Easeful,
Peaceful,
Silent,
Complete,
Home,
You,
Already perfect.
Ready,
Begin.
Go.
You When thoughts arise or uncomfortable feelings,
Sensations,
Doubt,
Just go back to the breath.
Witness that some benevolent force is breathing you.
This non-personal loving awareness,
Love.
Love is keeping you alive.
Love is guiding you,
Assisting you.
You are loved.
You are love.
So how can you not be loved?
Yeah.
You are loved forever,
Ever so much,
Always and forever more.
Thank you for showing up as yourself as this benevolent force,
As God in human form,
As loving awareness,
As non-personal awareness.
Thanks for showing up.
