Today,
We are going to connect to the spirits of the land around us.
The spirits of the land are important to many practicing witches and spiritual people alike.
This guided meditation will help you explore the landscape immediately around you,
Ground your energy,
And connect you with the spirits of the land that are open to communication.
This meditation is best done seated outside in the area of land you want to connect to.
If you can have a physical connection with the earth,
That is best.
Let's begin by taking several deep,
Long breaths.
Close your eyes and slowly draw the air in through your nose,
Visualizing the drawing in of the earthen energy around you.
As you exhale,
Feel your body relax,
Slowly melting away any tension you hold.
Inhale and draw in that energy.
Exhale and continue to relax.
Continue to breathe deeply for a moment,
Letting your tensions,
Worries,
And distractions fall away.
Inhale the earthen energy around you.
Exhale the tension your physical body holds.
Before we begin to ground ourselves,
Take a moment and introduce yourself to this land.
Even if you have lived here or visited before,
A kind introduction is always welcome.
You can speak your introductions and intentions aloud or simply say them in your mind.
Continue to breathe deeply.
Now let's begin to ground ourselves so that we may freely connect with the earth.
As you inhale,
Visualize the energy in your body slowly swirling,
Moving gently in no particular motion.
As you exhale,
Gently extend your energy downward,
Like the roots of a tree.
Inhale and hold that energy in place.
Exhale and again extend your energy downward,
Further rooting yourself in the earth.
Feel your energy extending from your seat,
Moving through the cool layers of the earth,
Taking root in the planet we call home.
Continue to breathe deeply in your connection with the earth.
As you exhale,
Let any tension and unwanted energies flow down into the earth.
Allow the earth to neutralize any chaotic or negative energies you may be holding.
It is important to be in a neutral state for this exercise as we reach out to any land spirits in the area that may want to communicate.
Continue to breathe deeply,
Mixing your energies with the earth and grounding yourself in the moment.
As you breathe,
Gently bring your focus to the land around you.
See the curves of the land in your mind's eye.
Picture any trees,
Flowers,
Or other plants.
Picture any animals or living creatures here.
This place was alive and well long before you were here and will be alive and well long after you leave.
Continue to breathe deeply as the shapes and images take form in your mind.
With the images in your mind,
Allow your focus to gravitate to where your energy feels pulled.
Is there a section of the land that feels stronger than the others?
Bring your focus here.
What do you see?
What do you feel?
What do you hear?
Is there someone there?
Spend some time gently focused on this area and take note of any thoughts,
Words,
Feelings,
Or images that come to mind.
If you feel called to do so,
You may speak your introductions,
Your intentions,
And ask if the spirits of the land have a message for you.
Communication is a two-way street,
So if you feel called to,
Have a conversation with the spirit of the land.
If you feel called to wander to another area,
Let yourself wander.
If you feel like your communication is unwanted,
Do not push the communication.
Building relationships with the land spirits around you is like building relationships with anyone else.
Gently focus on these conversations and any messages you may receive.
Remember to keep breathing deeply.
Gently bring your focus back now,
Saying your goodbyes and giving thanks for any communication you may have had.
Inhale deeply,
Feeling the gratitude that you were able to experience this moment,
No matter the outcome.
As you exhale,
Let the image of your landscape fade away.
Inhale deeply,
And as you exhale,
Feel your energetic roots still connecting you to the earth.
Give thanks for this connection,
Extending your gratitude and love for the planet through to the earth.
Inhale,
And gently draw up your roots,
Bringing your energy back to you.
Know that you are always connected to the earth as long as you live.
The earth sustains us,
And we give our thanks and gratitude for the sustenance,
Life,
And vitality the earth provides us.
Let's take three more slow,
Deep breaths.
Inhale,
And exhale.
Inhale,
And exhale.
Inhale,
And exhale.
Inhale,
And gently open your eyes.
