
Your Mind Is A Powerful Energy Resource

Your thinking energy is your greatest treasure. The human mind is one of the most powerful energy resources. To use it well doesn’t mean to use it more, but just to use it in the right way. It’s easy, like adding drops of water to dry earth. With continued determined thoughts and actions, your spirit will be hydrated again, enabling you to feel happier and content in life.

Your mind is a powerful energy resource.
We're looking at the way we think and how our thinking energy is your greatest treasure.
So how is this your greatest treasure?
Because when we practice meditation,
The Raja Yoga meditation,
We look at being the energy in the center of the forehead and how the energy in the center of the forehead energizes our entire physical system.
So depending on what I think,
That will be the energy that cascades throughout my entire body system.
And so if I think in a just an offhand and careless way,
Then that's the energy that will be going through me.
And according to that,
It will have an effect,
An impact.
So the more I start to see that it's a very great treasure the way I think,
Because the human mind is one of the most powerful energy resources for better or for worse.
To use it well doesn't mean to use it more,
But to learn how to use it in the right way.
And it's actually very easy when I understand that this way that I think in the center of my forehead,
The thoughts I have affect everything,
My nervous system,
Everything,
My health,
My well-being,
My happiness,
Everything.
And so,
Which is why we get round to meditation,
Because I might not be able to keep a handle on all of that during the day,
During the entire day.
But if I do something like spaces of time for meditation and I can then know that I'm thinking powerful thoughts at that time,
I can concentrate on what I want to think about,
Then I'm creating it's not just what I'm doing at that moment in time,
It's not just I'm thinking good thoughts and that's it,
But I'm creating energy patterns.
Those energy patterns,
If I practice them,
Will stay with me.
And the more I go back to them again and again,
If I continue to practice meditation,
I'll go back to these energy patterns again and again.
And as I do this like everything,
It will become more powerful.
And this is actually extremely easy,
It's like adding drops of water to dry earth.
So you know what happens when you add water to dry earth,
It becomes soft and you can grow things in it,
Becomes malleable and pliable,
Useful.
So with continued determined thoughts and actions,
Your spirit,
Your soul,
Your light energy inside will feel as though it's been refreshed again,
Enabling you to feel happier and more content in your life.
So if I can teach myself to think strong,
Calm,
Kindly,
Determined and confident thoughts,
Then the change in your energy could be amazing.
There's no other way you can't do it physically.
Because if you're thinking physically,
You're thinking of physical things and physical things haven't got that power.
It's the energy,
The spirit that has that power.
So I have to look at the way I think and then form these energy patterns and then make them stronger.
However,
To just think about all of these things isn't enough.
I could sit and think forever.
Love,
Peace,
It's a good start.
But I have to put it into action.
Like I then have to think,
Let me think,
Let me remember to be more loving,
More peaceful,
More kindly,
More lighthearted.
So put it into action.
Otherwise,
You'll still feel weak and you won't feel so successful.
Why?
Because you think it,
But you're not actually doing it.
So when I think the thoughts,
The energy is there.
And as I think those thoughts,
The energy is there ready to form.
So it's like building something.
It's ready to form into useful energy patterns and it will only form into energy patterns when I do the action.
So unless I,
If I want to be lighthearted,
I have to start practicing that by smiling and being a bit lighter in my nature.
If I want to be peaceful,
I want to stay more calm when there's a thing happening that's a bit more difficult.
So I have to practice being peaceful by not being so daunted by situations and obstacles.
And if I want to be loving,
I have to start thinking,
No,
Don't dislike this person,
Be more kindly,
Be more generous natured.
So when I do this,
I'm then forming those thoughts into energy patterns.
It's like baking a cake actually.
You don't just take and make the dough and then just let it sit there.
You have to actually bake it and then it's there for you to use,
To eat,
To use,
To freeze,
To give to people,
Do what you wish.
So by trying to put energy patterns through your,
Your mind over and over again,
Put good energy patterns through your mind over and over again.
And a good thing to do is to sometimes just write down words or think or write or do something like happiness,
Freshness,
Strength,
Love,
Peace,
Determination,
Kindness.
I know for myself I used to,
Just even walking about,
I used to go about thinking all these thoughts as I walked,
Just to keep reminding myself what the thoughts were,
What they were that I wanted to be putting into practice.
So keep thinking of these words over and over in your mind.
So if we can think that keeps reminding us this is what I want to do actually,
I want to be,
I actually want to be happy.
So if I'm keep putting happiness,
Happiness,
Happiness through my mind and I'm walking along the street and I'm,
I'll remember to maybe feel more uplifted,
Maybe smile a little bit,
Maybe,
You know,
Be a bit kinder or more cheerful.
Strength,
I might be walking along the street and I think gosh I feel so exhausted,
This is an awful long walk but I can then encourage myself to,
To feel a bit more tireless.
So even I do these things a little tiny,
Tiny bit,
I'm creating a,
An energy pattern.
So keep thinking of these words over and over in your mind and then we could find that in a very short time you can teach yourself to meditate,
That you want,
You want to do meditation,
You want to because you can see the benefit to be positive and to practice and to have awareness.
It's like having the deep motivation to want to use your energy of thought and words in a beautiful way to help you on this journey of life.
So just talking about beautiful words.
When we're interacting with people around about us there's very few people have time apart from looking at maybe a movie or different when they go to whoever it is they believe in but in a normal way.
Beautiful words,
Hmm,
It may be occasional with maybe a one person but beautiful words are like a beautiful gift.
You can lift up anyone if you say some beautiful words to them because who goes around saying beautiful things to people especially in today's world which is full of concern and wonder and worry rather and anxiety and chaos and concern,
Problems.
Normally people don't go around to thinking of beautiful words and to say some beautiful words to someone is a beautiful gift.
You could actually have saved someone's life through saying some beautiful words.
You may not know it.
So if we learn how to think in a beautiful way,
At first it can seem even strange to ourselves to start thinking of beautiful words but when we get used to the fact that it is really rather beautiful to feel and think of beautiful words and at first maybe it's a strange thing to say beautiful things to people who are not used to hearing beautiful things but you will be able to get the courage in yourself to get rid of that barrier and say something and when you see that it actually was okay it was fine you said something really nice to someone.
This could help you on this journey of life apart from helping others.
It can also help you yourself.
So how many thoughts could you waste in your lifetime?
How often do we think I wish I'd said something?
I wish I'd said that to them.
I wish I told them but maybe someone has barriers up and it's hard to get underneath the barriers and you think oh I better not go there.
They'll bite my head off or oh I don't know if I've got the courage to say nice things or they might take it the wrong way.
As we get used to hearing those in our own mind,
Beautiful things,
Lovely words,
Talking about the possibility of happiness and kindness and freshness and strength,
Even strength to get stronger.
As I get used to thinking in this way then I'm feeling more and more courageous and expressing some of this to others.
Now it's not as if I'm you know going against anybody's belief systems or anything in this.
It's nothing to do with that.
It's just to do with interaction between people.
So how many thoughts could you waste in your lifetime?
They say that we have thousands and thousands of thoughts in a day.
How many of those thoughts are really useful in interaction with others apart from do this,
Do that,
I did this,
I did that,
Went to the shops,
I went here,
I went there,
I phoned so-and-so,
How are you getting on?
I'm getting on fine.
Mundane,
Mundane,
Mundane.
How many of these thoughts did you bubble with happiness and want to sparkle as you spoke to someone?
How many of these thoughts had freshness,
New ideas?
How many of these thoughts had strength and courage in them?
How many of these thoughts were loving and peaceful?
How many of these thoughts were totally determined to do something different?
How many of these thoughts were full of kindness?
No matter how unkind someone was being to the self.
Because remember your thought is your energy of life and our quality of thought is linked to our physical,
Emotional and mental well-being.
So if we think of that,
That's the way I think can keep me to be physically more healthy,
The way I think can keep me emotionally steady and stable and the way I think can keep my mental faculties more clear and the way I think can constantly give me feelings inside of everything being okay,
Feelings of well-being.
And what is the mind?
Why is the mind powerful?
Because it's our life energy,
The mind is part of the soul,
The being of light,
The living energy.
And why do we feel,
What is it that makes us feel weak?
Why is it we have really good thoughts and we think but why do I still feel weak?
What could make it powerful?
And no matter how brilliant our thinking is,
If I don't practice it,
It's going not very far.
It will stay in my mind,
Entertain me,
But it won't help my life journey and I won't feel those feelings of well-being go through my entire body system.
Why?
Because I'm not making an energy pattern.
I have to create energy patterns.
If you think of it like baking a cake,
If I just put the flour in the water or whatever the ingredients in a bowl and mix it up,
I won't make a cake.
So I can look at all the beautiful energies but I need to use them in living to make energy patterns which will stay with me forever.
And the more I use those energy patterns,
The more kindly I am,
The more living I am,
The more peaceful I am,
The more determined I am,
The more strong and steady I feel,
The more those energy patterns will grow inside me.
So this is why we become empowered with meditation and this is why it changes our lives and this is why your mind is a really powerful energy resource.
Okay,
So we have to practice,
Practice these beautiful ways of thinking and to use words in a beautiful way to help yourself and others on this life journey.
I think we might have some questions.
So my first question is about the aspect of practice because I might think,
Prepare,
Practice and then appear to fail.
It's like today I'm going to practice stability,
Calmness,
Coolness and then mid-morning something happens and I don't maintain stability,
Coolness and calmness.
Could you say something about that when I'm practicing and I appear to fail?
Well,
Everything new,
Whether it's physical or spiritual that you want to do,
There's always obstacles because otherwise life would be a breeze and we would all be sailing along dancing and singing with happiness but because you're going to change something which you,
Different from what you were like before,
Then there will be the obstacle of that which was done before,
Practiced before.
It will come up as almost to say what about me,
What about me?
You weren't happy before,
You were miserable so who would you think you are to be happy?
And so that will come up to challenge you and when that comes up to challenge you,
You have to just understand this is just a challenge and even if for the least tiniest bit you're able to hold on to what it was you were going to do,
You'll have started the development of your new energy pattern and then the next time you practice it,
It will be a bit easier and maybe the next again time you practice it,
You might just sail through feeling that yeah I feel peaceful,
I feel kindness,
I feel happiness so you do have to,
It's not,
It's like anything else,
You have to do something if you're going to be a singer or a dancer or a typist or a doctor or a surgeon,
You have to learn how to do it,
You have to learn the trade,
You have to develop the skill so you're teaching yourself inside the skills of these energies,
If you really want to nothing can stop you,
You can get your degree in all of them.
Aum Shanti?
I like the analogy of baking a cake and that the beautiful words,
The beautiful thoughts are like the ingredients.
I was thinking sometimes as I'm practicing maybe I'm not using the best ingredients or the right ingredients,
It's not that they're not good but maybe I decide to practice introversion when actually what's required is to be entertaining or compassionate or light-hearted and I decide I'm going to be introverted or the opposite so could you say something about that,
About developing wisdom and understanding all the different energies?
Oh right because we're all different here but I think if you practice meditation have a look at what you're like,
Find out your own character,
If you love to be whatever Marilyn was saying there,
I can't remember but she said introverted but you think you were practicing.
Entertainment.
Be an entertainment,
Well in that case focus on entertainment and light-heartedness for a while but do it through knowing that you can be light and happy and practice that one and then see that maybe after a while you feel you want to practice peace and be a wee bit pulled back a bit and find you want to look at a more detached energy.
A bit more introverted energy so gradually,
Gradually talk to you,
You're the only one that knows yourself so look at yourself and don't force yourself into something that is making you rebel dramatically inside because you're the one that's knowing yourself.
That reminds me about the story you told of someone who was very comical and when they started to meditate they started thinking they should be serious and then they came in front of someone wise and they said what's wrong with you?
What's happened to the jovial light-heartedness?
Yeah,
Yeah.
So that goes with what you're saying,
Know yourself and develop your specialities through knowing don't try and force yourself to be something different.
Yeah because the cheerful light-heartedness is rather lovely,
Just understand that that is also a power and it's part of you so no,
No you don't have to throw out the baby with the bathwater as they say.
Okay.
And of all the beautiful words,
What are two or three of your favourite that you regularly go into and develop feeling for and practice?
Wow,
I love tranquility,
I love unshakable,
I love exquisite,
I love the word special,
I love kindness,
I love freshness as well,
Newness,
Freshness,
Kindness.
Oh masses,
That'll do for a start.
So we'll have a minute of meditation.
So bringing our energy into the centre of the forehead and visualise this point of light which is I,
The soul,
A beautiful thinking,
Valuable,
Exquisite life energy.
My own personal,
Most valuable life resource.
I am the soul,
A point of light in the centre of my forehead.
I'm energy,
Beautiful,
Fresh,
Strong,
Peaceful,
Energy.
Let me feel myself as that feeling of being.
I'm alive,
I'm alive,
I have everything within me and I have everything to give to others around me.
The more I know myself,
The more I can give.
I have this gift of knowing myself and I can give that gift to others.
