With this energy of the self I create my own life.
And then I interact with others.
And the more I understand myself,
The more I begin to understand the best way to interact with others.
And it teaches me actually not to be harsh or judgmental.
However I was before I did this,
I made many mistakes because I didn't know any differently.
So when I begin to practice Raja Yoga and I learn more and more about myself and the best way to use my energy,
Then I can be more kindly and gentle and understanding of people around me.
Because our original nature,
Everybody,
Everybody,
Not a few people,
Our original nature is to be peaceful.
And we might think,
Peace,
Oh peace,
You know,
What is peace?
But everything is in peace.
All my nature is within peace,
Kindness,
Friendliness,
Happiness,
Energy,
Strength,
Understanding,
Creativity,
Love,
Courage,
Determination,
Strength,
Everything comes from peace.
Because if I'm calm,
I won't get flustered.
If I'm calm,
I can see things a bit more clearly.
And the more I'm peaceful,
The more I feel,
Yeah,
I feel okay about myself.
I think,
Yeah,
I can do that.
Whereas maybe before if I was upset and my energy was agitated,
I would feel,
Oh,
I don't know,
Maybe,
Whatever the task would be,
Maybe I can't do that.
Because when I'm agitated,
Upset,
I lose my strength.
It's very simple.
And when I'm calm,
I can access my strength.
So staying calm,
Staying peaceful,
And this is what Raja Yoga is teaching us.
So it's important to choose which thoughts we give our time and attention to.
So once we practice being peaceful,
I should check that I have enough of these calming thoughts,
Create a stock of these calming thoughts to keep myself energized.
Because we have thought differently that I will have energy if I drink this energy drink.
Yeah,
It might have a bit of a boost.
I'm not saying anything wrong with any of that,
But it will not give me my spiritual power.
So pay attention,
Because a thought leads to a feeling.
So if I practice thinking calm and peaceful,
I could begin to have a feeling of everything's okay.
Everything is just fine.
Or even if it's not okay,
I could have a feeling that that's the way it is.
So I can't change whatever is happening in front of me,
But I can stay calm and peaceful and feel okay,
No matter what's happening.
So the feelings lead to an awareness,
An awareness of ourself,
And that leads to our experience of life.
So what is my experience of life?
I feel lighter,
More light-hearted when I practice being calm.
I feel something very natural is happening to me.
I feel I can do it.
So when I look back at some of the things that I did manage to go through without being calm or peaceful,
Then I think definitely I can do this.
I feel strong.
And when we tune into our original peaceful self,
Then all of our good qualities emerge.
They all come in front of us at some time or another.
Light-heartedness,
Friendliness,
Understanding,
Sympathy,
Courage,
Kindness.
Helpful nature,
Cooperation.
They all start to come to the surface,
And we feel good with these qualities.
These are our natural qualities.
But usually we're so busy,
Busy,
Busy,
Busy,
Busy,
Busy,
That we don't get around to thinking like that.
That's why when we take time to begin to feel peaceful and look at these qualities,
We've made a space,
And we've allowed them to come into our character.
That's why meditation is so,
So useful.
So relax and enjoy a quiet time of meditation,
And be ready to look into the inner world of your thoughts and your feelings.
So have a look.
When you see something come up that's worrisome,
Just look and think,
I don't know if I want to be worried just now.
I think I prefer just to stay calm.
If it's something we have to take care of,
Then I'll say,
Well,
I'll tick that box and I'll look at that,
But not during meditation.
So we start to look at our timetable,
Look at our character,
Look at the benefits of being still and calm.
The soul is a tiny,
Subtle point of living energy,
And the soul is you.
So I'm a soul,
A point of living life energy.
I'm in the center of my forehead.
If I take time to recognize that point of energy,
To feel that point of energy inside my head,
It's in front of my brain.
The more I focus,
The more I think,
The more I start to understand and feel this energy to naturally be the power that guides my life.
I am a soul,
A loving,
Kindly,
Powerful,
Determined,
Courageous being.
Om Shanti.
I am a peaceful soul.
I look out through the eyes.
I can feel the energy of my thinking in the center of my forehead.
I think about what it would mean if I were to consider myself to be a soul.
A soul in a body,
Not a body with a soul,
But I am a soul.
And I,
The soul,
Can choose any thought.
And I've given myself time to slow down.
To get to know myself.
And rediscover my peace.
Om Shanti.
I allow the body to sit quietly.
I become aware of the many different energies that make up life.
As the body sits quietly,
I'm aware of the physical,
The biological energies of this valuable instrument of mine.
For a little while,
I would like to turn my attention away from my physical energies and focus my energy inwards.
Consciously,
I allow this physical instrument of mine to let go of the tension in the muscles.
My feet.
My legs.
My back.
My arms.
My shoulders.
My neck.
And even the muscles in my face.
I let go of the tension of hanging on.
And everything becomes calm and relaxed.
And now,
Instead of looking outwards,
I allow my mind to look within.
Seeing the world outside,
I choose,
For a few moments,
Not to see it.
I let the sounds of the external world fade into the background,
So that they are no longer a distraction.
And on the screen of my mind,
I visualize a point of light.
I can locate this point of light specifically.
And now,
As the body sits quietly,
I become aware of the life force,
The source of life,
In the center of my forehead,
Just behind.
This is who I am.
I am a point of eternal light.
In this awareness of my eternal form,
I gather the full force of my energy within.
I know I am the master of this physical instrument.
I can now direct the way in which my physical senses function.
What it is I see through these eyes,
What it is I choose to communicate through my lips,
And even what it is I wish to absorb from the information coming to me through my ears.
I,
The being of light,
The eternal soul,
Am the creator.
I,
This point of infinitesimal energy,
Am the master.
Becoming aware of this,
I am able to send out light throughout this physical body and use this body for that which is constructive,
That which is filled with goodness.
Om Shanti.
