Om Shanti It's quite something.
Thinking is an art,
You know,
Because we're thinking all the time.
But every thought has an effect.
So if I'm constantly concerned or constantly agitated or constantly giving myself things that don't make sense,
I'll get in a muddle.
Going beyond your weaknesses,
We have weaknesses and usually our weaknesses are formed through wrong understanding.
Always our weaknesses are caused through wrong understanding.
And then applying that understanding to our lives.
But it will cause an effect on my brain,
On my way of thinking,
On my entire body system.
So that's why when we look at Raja Yoga Meditation,
We really spend all our time looking at self-reflection.
Because self-reflection and God-reflection,
If you want to go there,
Will give me a stability.
Because it's like we're going to check as we go along the effect that things are having on me.
And if I do this,
I'll be able to see and somehow determine that,
Oh,
How could you have thought that?
That didn't do me any good.
Deep-rooted beliefs can cause the problem that we have.
And so to check where they came from and who gave us this information,
Where did it come from?
Very similar energies are within each of us.
First of all,
We start off with very similar,
Very good quality energies.
They talk about taking the sugar pill.
How some people who take the sugar get cured as much as the people who take the real product.
And I think that if we have that kind of strong faith in us,
It kind of works.
Because you're imbuing it with your honesty and your strength of faith and everything.
You're imbuing that product which has nothing in it,
Perhaps.
But you believe it.
And in Raja Yoga we say,
Start the practice of believing in yourself.
When you start to believe in yourself,
You start to believe in your judgement,
You start to believe in your thriftiness,
You start to believe in your practical common sense.
And you start to believe in how you're looking for goodness,
Because goodness and everything is what makes life wonderful.
And so we can realise that it's the energies in here.
Take the medicine,
Take the lotion if you need the lotion.
But put yourself in a position of knowing exactly what it is you're doing and what it could help with.
And not be too disappointed if it doesn't.
Because there's a lot of energy patterns that cause things that happen to us.
And so the only thing I can really hold on to is,
Who am I?
How do I think?
How am I doing?
Look at your diet.
And not so much that you're going on a diet,
But what is it you're putting into here?
Because as is the food they say,
So is the mind.
Because your food has a big effect on your mind.
But it also has a big effect on your brain,
On your heart,
On your arteries,
On your blood pressure,
On the whole body system.
It's affected by what you eat.
If we have faith in the way we think,
Then complications that arise through attitudes and relationships and things that come up in life,
I'll have more and more faith that it's okay.
I might not be super-man and be able to deal with it like this or that,
But I'll be able to be balanced and have that faith that all the good ingredients that I'm putting into my attitude will have a beneficial effect.
Because if you look at the makeup of your way of thinking,
You definitely have to have a lot of good qualities in there.
It's for sure.
We can't be sitting here,
Any of us,
Just laden with weaknesses.
We can,
However,
Be focusing on one or two little weaknesses.
The one thing I've noticed is that a characteristic of most of us,
You can have so many wonderful qualities,
Be doing things that are good,
Helpful,
Useful,
Powerful,
Cheerful.
You keep cheerful,
Your attitude's good,
Your support system for yourself and others is good.
And then one tiny,
Tiny little complication comes along.
Tiny's not really very much.
But all our attention goes on it,
On the complication.
We kind of lose our faith at that moment as we start to figure out,
What have I done wrong?
What did I forget to do?
So I'm filling myself with weakness as I'm looking at this complication and I won't let go of the complication until it goes away and it won't go away.
It hangs about and then I forget to look at all the good bits,
All the strengths,
All the good,
Helpful feelings that I have,
The kind of feelings inside me.
I forget that.
I'm so busy looking at this tiny little thing that will not do what I want it to do.
And because of that I've lost my faith,
My sugar pill I've forgotten to take it,
All those good energies I'm not using.
And at that time I've opened up my entire system to bad energy.
Because I keep looking at and looking at,
Having doubts,
Trying,
Getting annoyed,
Trying to fix,
Trying to fix,
Trying to fix some tiny little thing.
And I forget the big picture.
And the big picture is for all the strength,
All the resilience,
All the faith,
All the friendliness,
All the light heartedness.
The big picture is full of all the good energies.
The way of life,
The challenges are that constantly,
Constantly these little niggles will come in front.
And we've got so used to them and we think that dealing with them in this way is the way to find that,
To find that solution.
See the worry already,
The worry.
Already I've no faith in that,
I've worked in that solution bee and I can spend so much time,
So much time,
So much time trying to find the solution.
We feel not very good and we feel exhausted and it took ages to pick myself back up again because I've let go of all the good beliefs and all the self beliefs and who I am and what I'm capable of and what's inside me.
And I've started to look at some little negative thing that's come out of the blue that I cannot figure out.
And that takes all my attention.
And there's nothing wrong with wondering how to put something into a balance but our focus goes on to the person that's causing a problem rather than the people all around who are absolutely doing everything to keep harmony and unity and helpful and useful and friendly and bright and kindly.
And it's not fair if when we look at it like that we can look at ourselves and think this is not fair.
I was on my attention always on this and what about all of that?
Let me do my best to be the helpful,
The useful,
The friendly,
The kindly,
The non-angry,
The peaceful person.
You're advertising who you are all the time you're alive and people more and more feel safe in those qualities of steadiness and peacefulness and calmness.
And it's with these qualities that we can judge for ourselves what's best,
What's best.
This wealth can stay stable and steady,
Wealth of common sense,
Wealth of faith,
Faith in yourself,
Practical understanding of how things fit together,
What's beneficial for you.
Om Shanti The true self taking just a minute in calm silence I observe that I am energy,
A point of immortality different from the energies of time,
Sound and matter.
I begin to realize that I am an actor within this costume,
My body playing my part on the stage of life.
Remembering my point like reality I feel the strength of peace and love empower and free me from everything hurtful.
Now I have the strength to master the external world of relationships and situations.
