Feeling our feelings in everyday life can be quite difficult. In this short, open, and contemplative practice, you may feel free to simply listen to the words as they wash over you, guiding you in how to feel your emotions within the realm of the heart. My hope is to leave you feeling centered and more confident in your own heart's wisdom and your ability to face whatever arises.

Dropping into my soft and sensitive heart,

I immediately feel a rush of emotions,

Feelings,

And bodily sensations that are waiting to be acknowledged,

Addressed,

Loved,

And allowed.

I see that the only way through into the core of my brilliant heart is by diving into these murky waters without fear.

This doesn't mean facing my feelings like a fierce warrior,

Although it does take courage.

This means allowing my wisdom to guide me with a hand of softness toward what has been lying in me all this time,

Waiting to be understood.

Love is the key.

Each feeling steps forward,

Whether I give it a name or not,

It doesn't really make a difference.

I can feel the resonance in my body and the vibrations created by facing these shadows.

I allow each one,

Welcome it to walk through me,

To inhabit my being while I maintain a steady connection with my underlying ground.

I know then that I am not what I feel.

I am always and forever an indescribable peace,

And these sensations of the body will only stick around for a short time.

Breathing into all the corners of my body,

I sense a fullness of feeling without judgment.

I am still alive,

Attuned,

Aware.

I breathe.

I open.

I allow.

I soften.

I acknowledge.

I voice through inner dialogue what is coming to the surface.

I simply stay here and feel.

When I know the time is right,

I begin to breathe a little deeper and focus on exhales.

The sensations begin to change,

To lighten,

To open and allow some light to shine through.

It is then that I know I have held myself.

I offer love as the feeling or sensation continues to lighten and then leave my body.

Sometimes another steps toward right away.

Sometimes there is a lingering feeling of lightness and a moment to acknowledge the work.

Either way,

I am now deep within the flow of something ancient and larger than myself.

An infinite primordial river of love and life.

Whatever comes into me now will eventually just merge with what is surrounding me all the time as I flow downstream toward big,

Wide and loving ocean arms.

This is how we do the work,

My dear.

This is the map we follow when we are trying to make sense of the human experience.

When your mind is running in circles,

Trying to solve problems using logic and ego-driven panacea,

This is the time to find your heart,

To begin the journey of the soft,

Strong warrior who meets whatever arises with something larger than all of us,

Love.

It takes courage,

Perhaps even more courage than fighting the sensations in the body or bypassing them hoping they won't come to light another day.

Or they will always come to light another day.

Finding the heart,

Learning to reside within it no matter what arises,

Is how we begin to co-create with the universe.

It is in this space of authenticity,

Faith and trust that we become capable of channeling our dreams.

It is here that we receive messages from something greater than ourselves in the form of words,

Beliefs,

Visions,

Intuition and guidance.

It is here that we reside if we want to live our one human life to its fullest and most beautiful potential.

Shine on my love.
