Hello and welcome.
I'm Roseanne,
Your host and guide.
In today's meditation,
We journey to the clear blue center of truth,
The space within the throat chakra where your authentic voice gently waits,
The Vishuddha chakra.
For many of us,
Our authentic voice has been quietened,
Silenced to keep the peace,
To belong,
Hidden,
To feel safe.
Authenticity isn't about shouting your truth or being unfiltered in every moment.
It's about aligning with your inner truth in a way that feels safe,
Steady and sovereign.
It's the quiet courage to stay in relationship with your authentic self,
Even in the presence of others.
I find authenticity to be something that we can strive for quite purposefully.
Like many,
I spent a lot of my life suppressing my authentic self in order to fit in,
To protect myself,
To be accepted,
Thinking that my full authentic self would be too much.
Such was the desire to be liked and accepted,
I minimized myself for years and I find myself sometimes still doing it.
The work is ongoing.
Within meditation,
When it is just you and your thoughts and your higher self,
It's easier to feel the authentic self.
But as soon as you are in communication with another,
That authenticity can be lost.
So,
In this meditation,
I will be giving you some tangible tools to take into real-world situations that will bring you back to yourself,
To your authenticity.
So,
Let's make a start.
Find yourself in comfort,
Either sitting or lying down.
And make sure you won't be disturbed as you settle into stillness.
Let your eyes close and your breath become your guide inward.
Notice your body,
The weight of you held by the earth.
Feel your breath arriving,
Leaving,
Gentle and steady.
Come home to yourself within your breath.
Let your awareness move to your shoulders,
Your neck,
Your jaw.
Soften here.
And as you begin to arrive more deeply,
Bring your attention to your throat,
The space where breath becomes voice,
The meeting place of truth and expression.
Visualize a soft,
Clear blue light at the center of your throat,
The Vishuddha Chakra.
Imagine this light as a still pool of water,
Calm,
Reflective.
This is the seat of your authentic self,
The voice that knows and honors your truth.
With every inhale,
Feed that blue light.
With every exhale,
Let it expand,
A gentle radiance that surrounds you like a cocoon of truth.
So,
Now let's go and meet your inner truth.
And ask yourself,
What is true for me right now?
Don't search for the answer,
Let it come.
It may be a word,
A sensation,
An image,
Or it may be silence.
All are welcome.
Let yourself rest in that knowing,
A quiet remembering of who you are.
So,
Now ask,
What is true for me right now?
And I'll gently bring your awareness to the felt sense of authenticity.
What does it feel like in your body when you're being true to yourself?
It may feel like a softening in the chest,
A steady strength in your spine,
A lightness in your throat,
A grounded sensation in your belly.
There's no right or wrong,
Just awareness.
And when you find that sensation,
Breathe into it.
Let your body remember it.
This is the somatic imprint of your truth,
A feeling you can return to again and again.
Now,
If it's available to you,
Gently bring your hands into tinmaya mudra.
On each hand,
Touch your thumb and index finger together,
And let the other fingers curl in softly.
Gently rest your hands on your lap,
Palms facing downwards.
This mudra can be used discreetly in your life.
This mudra draws energy inward,
Reflecting self-awareness and clarity.
It stimulates the jaw,
The throat,
And the subtle flow of prana through the vishuddha chakra.
Let this physical sensation of authenticity and the gentle hand position become a subtle signal to your system.
I am safe.
I am true.
I return to myself.
Now,
Bring to mind a moment when you've hidden your truth,
Not out of shame,
But for protection,
To belong,
Or to be accepted.
It is a human instinct.
You're not wrong for doing it.
Now,
Imagine the next time a similar situation arises,
And you pause,
And you take a breath,
And you gently make a soft sound,
A sound that grounds you back into your body,
Back into this space of truth.
It might be a hum,
A quiet,
Okay,
Or a word you say often that can become an authenticity anchor.
What would feel natural for you?
Take a moment to find your authenticity anchor.
Try it out now,
Whilst you're in this space,
And each time you use it,
It's a signal that you choose to stay connected to your truth,
Even in this situation.
Take a few moments to try it again.
Inhale gently,
And as you exhale,
Let a soft sound or your chosen word emerge.
Feel how it vibrates in your throat.
Feel how it centers you in yourself.
Hmm.
This is another real-world tool,
A simple vibration,
A doorway to return.
Pair it with your breath.
Feel into these tools you now have to bring you back into your authentic self.
Your breath,
Your felt sensation of authenticity,
The mudra,
And your chosen word or sound.
Breath,
Sensation,
Sound,
And gesture.
Your sacred tools to return to authenticity.
And now,
Silently,
I want you to repeat,
I honor my voice.
I trust my truth.
I am safe to be real.
Repeat,
Again,
Letting it sink into your being.
Hold your mudra,
Use your breath.
I honor my voice.
I trust my truth.
I am safe to be real.
And let those words land deep within,
And gently return to your breath.
Place one hand on your throat,
One on your heart.
Feel that connection,
Voice and heart,
Expression and compassion.
Inhale gently,
Exhale fully.
And when you feel ready,
Gently bring yourself back into the space around you.
You carry your truth with you,
And now you carry ways to remember.
Om Shanti.
