Find yourself a comfortable quiet place to sit or lie down and when you are comfortable you can close your eyes and you place one hand on your upper chest and the other hand on your belly below the ribcage and allow your belly to relax without forcing it inward by squeezing your muscles just relax it and now breathe in slowly through your nose and the air should move into your nose and then downward so that you feel your stomach rise like a balloon and the hand on your belly is moving with that inhale and when you exhale you exhale slowly through slightly pursed lips and take note of the hand on your chest that stays relatively still and when you breathe out you do it with this soft sound now do it again breathe in slowly through your nose feel your belly rise and exhale slowly through your mouth and keep on doing this a couple of times and make sure that you always stay focused on your breathing when a thought is coming into your mind always focus on the breathing and take it slow and do it as long as you need to calm down and when you feel you're calm you can open your eyes and when you feel need more time I'm gonna let you do it and you decide yourself when you're finished with this breathing exercise
