Allowing the eyes to close gently or choosing to find a gaze point somewhere out in front of you to let the eyes soften.
And allowing the attention to begin to arrive into the inner experience and moment to moment and arising of what's here,
Allowing permission to let go of all of the comings and goings and doings of the day to this moment.
And arriving into being,
Into settling into this moment right where you are.
And as you draw the attention inwardly,
Take a moment to observe what might be here in the mind and what also might be here in the body arriving with you as you settle into practice.
And whatever it is that is here,
Just allowing a gentle acknowledgement.
There's busyness,
If there's agitation,
If there's restlessness,
Whatever it is,
It's okay because it's here.
And then allowing the attention to sense into the body and the posture that you've chosen.
Using the various points of the body that are making contact with support and seeing if you can let the body just receive and settle into the support.
And from the places of support,
See if you can take notice of the body engaged,
Alert,
Embodying a posture that allows for awareness to be cultivated,
To be experienced.
And as you sense into the posture and arrive into a greater immediacy of this body as it is here right now,
Let the attention gently begin to connect to the breath,
Allowing a noticing of the inhale and a noticing of the exhale.
And simply allowing the attention to connect to the qualities of the breath.
Maybe noticing subtle expansions or subtle contractions.
Maybe noticing the length of the breath.
Is it short or is it long?
Maybe sensing the breath feels deep or shallow.
But just let the attention stay close and follow the moment-to-moment unfolding of each breath.
Really allowing with great permission just the noticing of breath,
Letting go of needing to attend to anything else.
Just this moment of breathing.
If the mind drifts or is distracted,
Experiences in the environment or thoughts of the mind or states of the body,
So just natural arisings that occur.
So there's an opportunity to just take notice.
And without judgment,
Without needing to do anything with where the attention may get caught,
We can let go and choose to bring the attention back to just the breath.
Time unfolding moment-to-moment awareness of breath.
