Hello and welcome to Mindful Moments.

Today we're going to talk about tiny moments.

Have you ever noticed how few people find beauty,

Wonder,

And appreciation in everyday life?

But those who are curious may see what we often miss.

How often do you feel excited about something?

Do you find it takes something big like a special vacation or another type of event to become excited about your life?

Are you missing small moments to be appreciated?

Life consists of big and small moments.

We generally focus on the big achievements rather than the little things that can make life genuinely profound.

But it's the small moments that often go unnoticed.

These moments fill us with a sense of connection,

Purpose,

Or pleasure.

The insignificant and everyday moments of life can create the greatest joy and have a deep impact on our overall well-being and happiness.

Research has shown that the most powerful tool for our well-being is found in low expectations,

Gratitude,

And mindfulness.

The tiniest,

Most regular everyday tasks in life can bring the highest joy.

Think about the pleasure of reading or listening to a good book.

Maybe that first cup of coffee or tea in the morning.

As you begin your day,

You can relax and just be in a moment of quiet.

Perhaps it's watching a magnificent sunset as it drops out of sight.

Other special moments may include meaningful and funny conversations with your family or friends.

By taking a moment to notice and savor these simple pleasures,

Individuals can find greater joy and satisfaction in their daily lives.

Have you noticed when you want things to differ from what they are right now,

You may be unhappy?

By learning to appreciate the little things in life,

We find more contentment and peace.

Focusing on the smallest aspects of daily life can boost your mood and create contentment.

This mind shift can help reduce stress and anxiety.

It also can enhance gratitude and increase mindfulness.

Think how a child can find wonder and excitement in the smallest moments.

Now I'm going to ask you to take a deep breath and then invite you to close your eyes.

Take yourself back to tiny moments in your life that brought you joy and happiness.

Remember the excitement of the ice cream truck coming into the neighborhood?

Or perhaps when you first learned how to ride a bike?

Or maybe the first time someone showed you appreciation?

Find pleasure and wonder in life.

Slow down and be present.

Pay attention to the sights,

Sounds,

Smell,

Taste,

And textures in your environment.

Seek nature,

Cultivate meaningful connections,

And embrace unexpected joy.

I personally find joy puttering in my garden and watching it bloom and change with the seasons.

I smile when I'm walking my dogs and see how excited they are with the smallest things in the environment.

I get pleasure from conversations with my family and friends.

I find peace listening to the sounds of the ocean.

These are the kinds of feelings we can continue to generate daily if we recognize the value of appreciating what we have,

As opposed to only focusing on what we lack.

I challenge you to look for ways to appreciate the little things.

Perhaps it's a walk in nature,

A conversation with a loved one,

A delicious meal,

Playing with a pet,

Or a connection with friends.

By making a deliberate effort to appreciate the little things,

Individuals can create a more fulfilling and joyful life.

If your eyes are closed,

Slowly begin to open and breathe deeply.

Take time to find the tiny moments in your life to enjoy the beauty,

Wonder,

And appreciation in your everyday tasks and existence.
