This is a grounding meditation.

This meditation has been designed to help you find clarity from within.

Often in life,

We are faced at a crossroads,

Unsure of what comes next,

Unsure of what the right decision for us is.

This meditation helps you to connect back to yourself,

Restore the mind-body connection,

And through listening to our body,

We can connect to our intuition to help understand what our next decision should be.

You will need to be standing in a quiet space with your shoes off,

Your socks off,

And connecting to the floor beneath you.

Pause now if you need to get ready.

Begin by taking a standing position,

Grounding into your feet,

Into the earth.

Your feet can be about hips distance apart.

Head over shoulders,

Shoulders over hips,

Hips over feet.

For this meditation,

Think about the decision that is on the table in front of you.

Whatever thoughts,

Choices have brought you to listen to this meditation,

Think about those now.

And as you begin to think about this challenge that you face,

This unknown,

This uncertainty,

Scan your body,

Noticing where in your body do you feel a shift.

Noticing any physical sensations in the body.

Noticing anything in your shoulders,

Perhaps.

Your shoulders,

Perhaps.

Your head.

Your stomach,

Maybe.

Your legs.

Just noticing and observing what you feel in the body.

Here brings some focused awareness to a point of the body where you feel a sensation.

Is it a weight in your shoulders?

Is it butterflies in your belly?

Maybe a tightness in your chest?

Noticing whatever physical sensations you are feeling in the body.

And consider what is your body telling you?

What does this physical sensation mean for you?

Consider that your body is trying to have a conversation with your mind.

What do you think this particular sensation is telling your mind about the decision?

Consider for a moment what emotions is your body signaling to your mind?

What emotions are you feeling in your body around this decision?

And these can be different from the emotions that you have when you think about the decision ordinarily.

In this meditation,

We are connecting the mind and the body together,

Which can release new emotions with new perspectives.

One long inhale through the nose and one long exhale out of the mouth.

From here,

What images,

What memories come to mind linked to this physical sensation linked to this emotion?

Are these memories or these emotions?

And just consider for a moment what do they symbolize to you?

How are they connected to this decision that lies in front of you?

Why is your body feeling this way?

And why are you recalling such memories?

Why are you recalling such images in your mind?

Taking another deep inhale through the nose and exhaling out of the mouth,

Relaxing your shoulders,

Relaxing your face and your jaw.

I'm going to take another deep inhale,

A deep exhale,

Just allowing the whole body to soften now.

What are you feeling around the decision that is in front of you?

What thoughts are coming to mind?

What thoughts are guiding your decision-making process?

And finally,

Which thoughts are rational and which thoughts are irrational?

The thoughts that come to mind,

Now that you connect back to yourself,

You're disconnected from the world around you,

You're listening to yourself,

Are all those thoughts rational?

Are all those thoughts irrational?

Remembering the memories that have come to mind,

Remembering those images that have come to mind,

When it comes to taking decisions in our lives today,

We are often guided by the consequences of decisions in the past.

This can be our mind's way of protecting ourselves,

Of protecting you from things that have happened in the past.

But just because you feel those emotions or those thoughts come to mind,

Doesn't always make them rational in this day and in this time.

So thinking about those factors,

Those thoughts that are in your head around this decision,

Consider their rationality,

Consider their irrationality.

And for those thoughts that are irrational,

Find ways to release them.

Take a deep inhale,

And a deep exhale and allow yourself just to allow those irrational thoughts to leave the mind,

To leave the body.

Let's repeat this again.

Take a deep inhale,

And on an exhale,

Releasing those irrational thoughts.

Another deep inhale,

And on the deep exhale,

Releasing those irrational thoughts again.

And one last one,

Deep inhale,

And on the exhale,

Allowing the irrational thoughts to leave the mind and to leave the body.

And as for those more rational thoughts that are left,

Consider how you can work with those.

How can you build them into your decision-making?

How do they influence your decision-making?

How can you factor them in,

Maybe mitigate against risks,

Maybe reduce risk,

But just noticing for a moment how to use those rational thoughts and that information.

And now finally,

Let's return back to the body.

Take a deep inhale,

And a long exhale out of your mouth.

And I want you to come back to that initial thought,

That initial decision,

The crossroads that has brought you to this meditation in the very beginning.

Thinking about that for a moment,

Maybe whispering it to yourself.

And now come back to the body.

Notice how you're feeling in the body now.

There's no wrong or right answer,

Observing how your body feels,

What feels similar,

Perhaps what feels different.

Just noticing the sensations within your body.

Noticing how you're feeling now about this decision.

What emotions are coming into place?

What emotions are you observing?

And finally,

Before we finish this guided meditation,

Think for a moment what do you take from this guided meditation?

From here,

I really want you to ground your feet into the ground,

Really feel your toes pushing into the earth,

The balls of your feet putting pressure on the earth,

And your heels pressing into the earth.

Feel that energy rising up through your calf muscles,

Up through those thighs,

Around your sit bones and hips,

Up along your torso.

Feel that energy rippling up along your spine,

Up past your shoulders,

Your shoulders roll back,

You're relaxed,

That energy is coming down along your arms by the side of your body.

It's coming all the way back up those arms again,

Up your neck,

Through your head,

And out the crown of your head.

Feeling that energy,

Feeling that force from within you,

And I come back to that question again,

What do you take from this meditation?

What should you do with this energy,

With this clarity?

What comes next for you in this decision?

And finally,

Take one long deep inhale in,

And one long exhale out of the mouth,

And as you exhale,

Soften that jaw,

Soften your shoulders,

Wiggle your fingers,

Maybe move your toes,

And slowly you may open your eyes,

Coming back into the room.

This meditation has now ended.
