Sacred Music From The 12th Century
by Riley Lee
Hildegard von Bingen (Latin: Hildegardis Bingensis), 1098 – 1179, was a German Benedictine abbess, writer, composer, philosopher, Christian mystic, visionary, and polymath. In other words, an amazing woman! Her music is profoundly spiritual and mystical. It is perfect for contemplation. I feel that much of her music was made for the shakuhachi. Please listen to this musical meditation at a low volume. Much gratitude to Beverly Roberta Lomer for her thoughtful transcriptions of the music.
