Okay,
Wherever you are and whatever you're doing,
Make sure it's safe to relax for a few moments and to close your eyes down.
If you're operating machinery or driving,
Pull over to the side or put the machinery down.
And I want you to close your eyes now and begin by taking a few nice long slow deep breaths.
Really breathing in relaxation,
Breathing out any places of tension,
Any tension wherever they are within your entire body,
Just breathing out those tension places.
And as you begin to relax,
Your awareness will still remain,
But you'll also become aware of your own inner feelings.
So I want your mind to now provide you with a memory of a time when you felt really good about yourself.
Perhaps you'd accomplished something that you were proud of.
Maybe you were just being complimented for your efforts or the result.
The content of the memory is not important right now.
What is important right now are those feelings,
The feelings that this memory generates within you.
So allow your mind to provide you with a memory of a time when you felt fantastic,
Accomplishing something,
Proud of something,
Being complimented for something.
It doesn't matter but allow your mind to provide you now.
And I want you to begin to engage with those feelings.
And when you've recaptured that memory,
I want you to expand upon it.
I want you to notice exactly what situation you're in,
Who's with you,
Where you are,
What you're doing.
I want you to fill in all the details,
Have a look around,
Notice what time of year it is,
Spring,
Summer,
Autumn or winter,
How the weather feels,
The time of day,
Morning,
Afternoon or evening.
Notice what you're wearing,
How you're feeling,
What you're seeing,
What you're touching,
If anything.
I want you to listen and I want you to hear what's being said,
If anything's said at all,
Or any other sounds or smells around you.
And as you place yourself right back into that situation,
I want you to now focus on the feelings.
I want you to really begin to remember exactly how it felt inside those really good,
Positive,
Strong,
Confident,
Self-assured feelings.
And you can allow those good feelings to grow even stronger,
Right now,
Growing even stronger and more positive,
While you take in a really long deep breath and begin to press together the thumb and a finger of your chosen hand.
Choose a hand right now,
The right hand or the left hand,
Choose a hand and begin to press together the thumb and any finger of that hand,
While your subconscious mind memorises these wonderful,
Confident,
Positive feelings.
Because in the future,
Whenever you take in a really long deep breath and press together the thumb and the finger that you're doing right now,
You're going to remember and re-experience those good,
Strong,
Confident,
Positive feelings.
You can feel these feelings and feel this good anytime you wish to,
Anywhere,
In any situation.
These strong,
Confident,
Positive feelings are becoming more and more an integral part of you.
And you are becoming that stronger,
More confident person.
So remember,
Anytime at all you want to feel even more confident,
All you need to do is breathe in that really long deep breath,
Press together that thumb and the finger as you're doing right now,
Tighter and tighter.
And you'll allow yourself to remember and remind yourself of these good,
Strong,
Confident feelings,
Filling your being,
Filling your physicality with these strong,
Confident feelings,
Putting your mind right back into that really good situation,
Soaking up all the sights,
The sounds,
What you saw,
What you heard,
How you felt in that situation.
You can feel wonderful,
Buzzing,
Electric,
And you can also feel calmer and more relaxed and much more confident at the same time.
Because you know what it's like.
You know what it's like to feel this good.
So remind yourself now of these good,
Strong,
Confident feelings and you can really enjoy remembering and re-experiencing these feelings which are becoming more and more a permanent part within you.
So now I want you to quickly visualize a situation where you had previously felt a little apprehensive,
A little nervous,
A little maybe stressed in some way.
Remember a particular event,
A situation,
A time in which you had wished that you dealt with it differently.
And I'd like you to walk into that situation again right now.
I want you to step back into that exact situation right now.
But this time you're taking with you the tools that you need to feel much better inside.
And you have those tools right here at your fingertips and right here in the air that you're breathing.
So take in that long,
Slow,
Deep breath now and press together even harder that finger and thumb and once again remind yourself of those strong,
Confident,
Positive feelings flowing back into your awareness,
Filling your entire being with the strength to successfully deal with the situation.
And I want you to see and sense and feel yourself now effectively interacting in that confident way.
Really self-assured,
Full of self-belief,
Very assertive and confident as you watch yourself in this way.
Feel that pride that you have deep down inside yourself.
This sense of calm,
Quiet assurance,
This ultimate positivity.
Every day now you feel more positive about yourself because you know that you're achieving your fullest potential.

So nip those fingers and thumbs together one more time.
