Feelings within us happen both mentally and physically. This track invites you to dig a little deeper into all the feelings that you're feeling right now, in the moment. Physical feelings can be guided towards relaxation and mental feelings can be given a kind nudge towards calmness. As you relax you can allow any negative feelings to simply float away from you.

Welcome to day 7 of Mental Floss.

Today is all about feeling.

So find a place to sit down upright and aware.

Allowing yourself now to settle into a comfortable position and allowing your eyes to close.

Tuning into your breath,

Really beginning to feel exactly what each breath feels like.

Each breath in and each breath out.

And slowly becoming aware of the sensations within your body.

How you feel as you sit there.

How the surface feels beneath you.

How your arms feel and your legs.

And become aware of the deeper feelings within your mind.

The emotions,

The feelings inside.

And allow yourself now to recall a pleasant situation.

One from the past few days or weeks or even a month.

Just a pleasurable circumstance,

A time,

A place,

An event,

A situation which gave you good feelings.

And allow that memory to surface.

And with it,

Feel the flow of feelings that come along with that memory.

Notice those feelings in your body,

In your mind,

In your stomach,

In your heart.

And allow a smile as you feel a sense of appreciation or joy or warmth or love or wellbeing or light.

Notice how you can receive all of your feelings.

Now remember a difficult situation.

Not the worst,

But just a difficult situation.

Imagine that situation.

Where you were.

What happened.

Allow those feelings to wash over your body.

And again,

Notice where you feel those sensations in the body,

In the heart,

In your mind.

Perhaps any tension,

Frustration,

Anxiety,

Anger,

Sadness,

Sorrow or guilt.

Notice how awareness can allow all your feelings to flow like an ocean with waves and feelings rising and falling,

Flowing,

Moving as you remain still.

Within yourself relaxed,

Grounded,

Always drifting back to your breathing.

Underneath all the waves and feelings,

Behind all the flow of thoughts,

Your breathing remains.

And focus on the constant breathing.

Breathing in and receiving,

Breathing out and giving,

In and allowing,

Out and contributing.

As it calms your attention,

Allow yourself once again to recall a pleasant situation.

And feel the flow of good feelings that come along with that memory.

The feelings in your body,

In your mind,

In your stomach,

In your heart.

And allow a smile as you feel a sense of appreciation or joy or warmth or light or wellbeing or love.

And gently open your eyes.
