This is part of my 30 Days of Journaling series — a gentle, 5-minute daily reflection to help you pause and reconnect. Each day can be listened to on its own; you don’t need to follow the series in order. Today's focus is on Self-Acceptance, an essential step in embracing who you truly are and acknowledging your journey with compassion and understanding.

Welcome,

My name is Rianne,

This is 30 Days of Journaling and today we're going to talk about self-acceptance.

Now it's something that I've had never perfectly figured out and still do today.

I have quite often moments that I just don't feel enough,

Only when I reach a goal or fix a flaw of mine.

But you know,

If I really look back,

Some of the most peaceful moments I've had came on days when actually nothing was fixed,

When I looked at myself like,

Okay,

Guess we're doing it today like this,

And that's okay.

And so I want to talk about self-acceptance today.

And before we're going to start writing and journaling about it,

I invite you to close your eyes.

And we're going to take a slow breath in,

Hold it on the top.

And then when you exhale,

Imagine all the labels,

Expectations and shoots sliding off your shoulders.

Feels good,

Right?

Let's do that one more time.

Breathe in.

And as you exhale,

Let all of that go.

Place a hand on your heart and notice the warmth of your own touch.

It's proof that you're here.

You're enough,

Exactly as you are.

So I'm going to take one more deep breath in,

Breathe in kindness and breathe out pressure.

Breathe in love and breathe out expectations.

Perfect.

Whenever you're ready,

You can open your eyes,

Grab your journal and a pen or a notebook and a pen.

And let's start with that one thing that you've judged yourself harshly about lately that actually deserves some compassion.

What kind of challenging things are you going through that actually,

If you really think about it,

Or if a friend of yours would talk about it,

You would give it so much more compassion than you give yourself right now.

We are our worst critics,

Our own worst critics.

So what is that one thing?

Write it down,

Please.

And now write a couple of sentences as if it were your own best friend who was going through this,

What would you tell them?

What is the compassion?

What is the empathy?

What is it that you would share with them about what they're going through right now?

If you need a bit more time,

Don't hesitate to pause.

I'm going to move on to the next one.

And that is,

I invite you to write down three qualities that you love or could learn to love about who you are right now.

Love N-L-O-V-E.

What are three things that you love or could learn to love about who you are right now?

Can be how you show up,

Can be a skill,

Whatever comes up first,

Don't judge it,

Everything is allowed to be there.

Now which area in your life,

And you can write that down,

Could accepting yourself as you are bring some relief?

Maybe that's in health and fitness,

In relationships,

In your work or your career.

And then we're going to write a sentence about this.

And that says,

Today I acknowledge,

And you can name that thing that you're struggling with right now.

And then you finish it,

Even though.

And then you continue with something of compassion to yourself.

And then you continue this with something of compassion to yourself.

So today I acknowledge that I've been very impatient with a friend of mine.

And that had nothing to do with her,

That had to do with something that happened in my business.

And I'm going to send her a text about it,

That it was not her,

Because I feel guilty about it.

Whatever comes up is the right thing.

Awesome,

Thank you so much.

If you'd like to keep going with these gentle,

Simple reflections,

Drop a comment below.

I've recorded only six of the 30 days right now,

Because I wanted to see if this is resonating,

If this is something that people like to listen to.

So if that's the case,

Please drop a comment,

Let me know.

If you want to hear the other recordings that I did in this series,

You can go to my Insight Timer profile or you search for it by name.

It's just a calm,

Practical way to check in with yourself each day.

There's no pressure,

No perfection,

Just a few minutes to breathe,

Reflect,

And reset.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Have a great day.
