Go ahead and simply become calm and peaceful.
Get yourself settled into a place that feels good to you,
Whatever that place may be.
Whether you're sitting in a chair,
Sitting on the floor,
Lying down on the couch or in your bed,
Fully allowing your body to relax in this moment.
And begin to become aware of the present moment by becoming aware of your breathing.
Not trying to change it or fix it,
But just simply becoming aware of the fact that you are breathing,
That your body has just been naturally taking care of you this whole time.
And as you become aware of your breathing,
Begin to allow it to deepen and lengthen.
Every in-breath filling your belly and your chest just a little bit more.
Every out-breath releasing all of the carbon dioxide,
Everything that your cells no longer need.
Simply returning it back to the air where other beings on the planets can utilize it.
Begin to imagine yourself walking along a path.
And this path is absolutely gorgeous.
Everywhere that you look,
There is just beauty and magnificence.
You are in awe and wonder as you walk along this path.
There are trees budding,
Flowers blooming along the ground.
Chipmunks and rabbits and squirrels are flitting through the trees.
Under your feet,
The path is crunching ever gently.
Everywhere you turn,
There is just another magnificent example of the beauty of this world.
You look up overhead and you see the bright blue sky with a few fluffy clouds slowly rolling past.
The path is meandering through this forest.
You walk over a small footbridge where underneath the creek burbles,
Water flowing over rocks.
You notice that even in the water,
You can see little tadpoles flitting around,
Tiny little fish swimming against the currents.
You see the sunlight playing on the bottom of the creek,
The water causing it to dance and glow.
The further down this path you go,
The more at peace you feel.
And up ahead,
You notice that there is a clearing in the path.
And so you walk towards this clearing and you can't quite see what's in the clearing itself.
You can just tell that the trees end and there is an opening in the forest.
And you walk ever gently towards this clearing with more and more excitement building in your chest for you know that this clearing holds exactly what your heart's desire for peace will look like.
Your perfect place of peace lies in this clearing.
And so you take the last couple of steps and you look around this clearing and you see exactly what peace looks like to you.
Perhaps you see an open meadow.
Perhaps the clearing opens onto the ocean or a lake or a giant river.
Perhaps in the clearing is a castle or a clear bubble with a bunch of pillows all piled up in it.
Perhaps there is a tree house or a beautiful deck with the most gorgeous mountain view.
Perhaps all of a sudden,
The clearing has opened up into the most magnificent winter wonderland that you have ever seen before.
Whatever it is,
It makes you feel immediately at peace.
You slowly enter into the space and notice that in the space,
There is a place carved out just for you to sit.
It is the most comfortable,
Luxurious seat you have ever sat on before.
It perfectly hugs your body in all of the right places.
And you can relax all of your muscles and simply sit,
Sink down into the seat.
And you notice that you're sort of reclining,
Sort of sitting up,
Perfectly held,
Almost like the seat is outside of time and space and gravity.
Laws of physics don't exist here.
That's how peaceful this place is.
So sitting in this space,
Fully held,
You begin to consciously relax every single muscle in your body,
Starting with your toes.
You might even scrunch them up at first to feel the tension and then relax all 10 toes.
And then your feet,
Perhaps doing a couple of ankle rolls,
Allowing your feet to perfectly relax,
Knowing that you are held,
That this seat is the arms of the divine wrapped around you.
Continuing up,
You squeeze your calves and then allow them to relax.
You let your knees gently relax in whatever way feels best for them.
Perhaps they're straight out in front of you,
Or perhaps you have them curled under you.
However you're sitting,
The seat is perfectly holding you,
Exactly in that position.
Moving up to your thighs and your hips,
Noticing that they are in exactly the position that is best for them,
That there is padding in all of the right places,
That your hips and buttocks are perfectly cushioned,
And that you are able to 100% relax.
You don't have to hold yourself up at all.
The seat is doing it for you.
And moving up to your belly,
You take a deep breath into your belly and allow it to relax completely.
Maybe you spend all day sucking it in just a little bit,
But in this place,
There is no need for that.
And you just allow it to relax,
Noticing that as you relax your belly,
That all of your systems that are housed there are working at their optimum level.
The food you last ate is being digested.
The water that you last drank or whatever liquid you last drank is moving through your blood,
Allowing all of the nutrients to flow to every one of your cells and systems,
That you have this perfect balance of integration and elimination that is happening in perfect harmony in your body right now.
And so you continue up,
Allowing your back,
Your chest to relax.
Notice if you're holding any tension in your shoulders,
Maybe squeezing them up to your ears,
And then fully relaxing them,
Noticing the difference,
Shaking out your arms and your fingers,
Allowing them to fall to your sides or perhaps placing them in your lap or on your stomach,
Going back to your shoulders and noticing if they've crept up at all,
Allowing them to fall down again.
Doing a couple of neck rolls,
Noticing how you don't even have to support your head.
This chair is perfectly holding it.
Unlocking your jaw,
Removing your tongue from the roof of your mouth,
Unfurrowing your brow,
Noticing that even your scalp itself seems to relax.
And in this fully relaxed state,
In this place that is your heart's greatest idea of peace,
I invite you to take just a couple of minutes to experience the fullness of this place,
Taking in the sights,
The sounds,
The smells,
Taking in the way the chair feels,
Noticing that you are perfectly held,
Perfectly at peace,
Noticing if your mind is wandering off.
That's completely natural.
It's what minds do.
Gently bringing it back to the space,
Noticing if anything has become a little tense,
Just because that's the way it's used to being,
And if so,
Consciously relaxing it.
Continuing to notice how this is your perfect place of peace,
This place that is outside of time and space,
Not bound by the laws of physics,
Yet instead is this place of awe and wonder,
Of magnificence and oneness,
Where you can let go of all of the stuff and just simply be.
Be yourself.
Be presence.
Be peace.
There is nothing for you to do in this place.
There's nowhere that you have to be.
There is no mask that you have to wear,
Expectations that you need to fulfill.
There is simply you and peace.
Dancing is one.
Resting is one.
Take a few final deep breaths.
When you feel complete,
Allow yourself to drift off and fall asleep in this space of peace and to wake up back in this physical space,
Wherever you are in your home or work.
Wiggling your fingers and toes and realizing that you did not ever leave this place of peace because that is who and what you are,
And that at any moment and every moment,
You can return to the peace that you are.
Return to this place and remember that you simply are.
You are a human being.
This place that exists inside of you and therefore is outside of time and space.
It is not bound by the laws of physics or the workplace culture,
Your home life,
And therefore it is always available to you.
And with that revelation,
You can gently open your eyes with a smile on your face,
Feeling that place of peace simmering at the foundation and core of who you are.
