Welcome to this full moon yoga nidra.
You're invited to settle down,
Making yourself the most comfortable.
Bringing the earth closer to the body by using pillows and blankets.
Making sure your body is warm and tucked in.
And gently closing your eyes if that feels right to you.
Knowing that in this practice of yoga nidra,
Nothing can go wrong.
Your experience is the practice.
So no matter what you experience,
You are in the right place at the right time.
Just like the moon rises every evening and gives way to the sun every morning.
Slowly I invite you now to become aware of your breath.
Feeling how the breath feels like in this very moment.
Becoming aware of the sensations of the inhale.
And the sensations of the exhale.
And let's relate this cycle to the cycle of the moon.
Let every inhale be like a rise to the full moon.
And every exhale be the journey to the new moon.
Rising up,
Filling the moon,
Exhaling,
Letting go into the new moon.
Maybe feeling how every journey from the new moon to the full moon fills you up.
From every full moon to the new moon relaxes you deeper.
Maybe it feels right to notice a pause at the end of the inhale at the full moon.
And a pause at the new moon,
The bottom of the exhale.
Allowing for that pause to be natural,
Comfortable.
Just right there.
Savouring the feeling of fullness.
Savouring the feeling of a new journey about to start.
A new moon being born.
And then gently letting go of the moon cycle breath.
Connecting with feeling and the visualisation of being a man or woman or person on that moon.
That famous,
Famous person looking down with kind loving eyes onto Mother Earth.
Feeling that kindness,
That love.
Visualising a path down from the moon to the earth.
Standing at the beginning of that path,
Knowing that at the end of this path your favourite place on earth awaits you.
Seeing that path and what it is made of.
Maybe getting a certain smell already from the faint distance.
Walking towards it as you start your journey towards earth.
Letting that path lead you down to earth with every step creating another earthly sensation.
Touch of the air on the skin.
A warm temperature maybe.
Maybe a special sound.
The taste of the earth.
The smell of the earth.
And as you reach that special place.
Seeing your body lying there resting.
Connecting with that body lying,
Resting.
Feeling the touch of Mother Earth on your backside.
Feeling it at the back of the head.
Shoulders.
Back of the arms maybe.
Maybe it's the side of the body.
The buttocks.
The legs.
And parts of the feet.
Knowing you have arrived back home.
Welcome home.
Welcome home to your resting self.
As you lie there connecting with the earth.
Feel gravity,
The love of the earth for you.
Hold you in stillness.
As you're lying there looking out into the sky back up at the moon.
Feeling the moonlight touching your body.
Feeling the light touching the top of your head.
Your forehead.
Left and right temple.
The left and right ear.
The right and the left eyebrow.
And the center of the eyebrows.
The right eye.
The left eye.
Your nose.
Your cheeks.
The upper lip.
The lower lip.
Your chin.
Your throat.
Both shoulders.
Upper arms.
Lower arms.
Wrists.
Palms.
Your thumbs.
Your first fingers.
Your second fingers.
Your third fingers.
And your fourth fingers.
The spaces in between your fingers.
Feel how they are filled with the moonlight.
And feeling how the moonlight is touching the chest.
The left one,
The right one.
The center of the chest,
The heart space.
Your upper abdomen.
Your lower abdomen.
The left hip,
The right hip.
The left thigh,
The right thigh.
The right knee,
The left knee.
The left chin,
The right chin.
Right ankle,
The left ankle.
Top of the left foot,
Top of the right foot.
And all ten toes in whichever order feels right.
One toe,
Toe number two,
Three,
Four,
Five,
Six,
Seven,
Eight,
And nine.
And ten.
Allowing for your entire body to just bathe in the moonlight.
Letting your awareness travel throughout the entire body.
And reconnecting with your breath.
Then simply start counting backwards.
From twenty-five.
Twenty-five inhale.
Twenty-five exhale.
Twenty-four inhale.
Twenty-four exhale.
Continue counting back towards zero.
If you get lost,
Don't worry.
Just start again.
And slowly letting go of the counting.
Letting your awareness to the eyebrow center if it feels right for you.
Simply resting your awareness right there.
Experiencing the sensations.
Maybe keeping a slight remote awareness of the breath.
If it feels right to you.
Then letting your awareness sink into the throat pit.
The little valley in between the collar bones.
You can visualize the full moon here while you're exploring all the sensations.
Oh,
Simply rest your awareness.
And letting your awareness drop a little further down.
Further down into your heart space.
Resting your awareness right there.
Deep inside your body.
Being at ease.
Maybe slightly and remotely aware of your breath.
And letting your awareness drop a little further down.
Slowly letting your awareness drift.
Letting your awareness drift away from the heart space.
Connecting to the inside of your mouth.
Maybe swallowing.
Connecting to the flows inside your body.
Feeling whatever flow you can feel.
And the full movement in that still body.
You can notice.
Allowing it to flow uninterruptedly.
In its natural cyclical being.
The influence of the moon.
Just like the tides of the ocean.
Maybe feeling a space where that flow is not recognizable to you.
A still spot in your body.
Where you can feel nothing but stillness.
Connecting to that sense inside of you.
And then maybe feeling both at the very same time.
Sense of flowy movement and stillness.
Inside of you.
Or maybe you want to switch in between the both of them.
Feeling the flow and then feeling the stillness.
It's your decision.
And then gently coming back to your breath.
Feeling the waves of breath.
Fresh new energy entering with every inhale.
And settling with every exhale.
Maybe you start deepening that breath.
Sending it deeper down into the belly.
Noticing the touch of the earth again on your body.
The blanket covering you.
Slowly reconnecting to the world around.
Giving yourself a big stretch or a big hug or any movement that feels right.
Allowing yourself to take your own time.
To come back.
As this practice of yoga nidra is now officially over.
Thank you very much for listening.
