This Yoga Nidra has been recorded for you with the intention to capture the special energy and Soundscape of a Galician Forest. Galicia, as the ancient Celts and Christians already felt, has an incredibly soothing and grounding Quality that just deeply nourishes the soul. Inspired by that Nidra takes time to settle in and travel deep down using breath explorations and pairs of opposites.

Welcome to this yoga nidra recorded for you in the forests of Galicia,

Settled in between lush green scenery,

Soft rolling mountains and the first rays of the summer sun touching down on the vast fern,

Waking it up ever so gently from its deep rest,

From which we will also emerge later on.

And as you are getting ready to settle down,

I invite you to just make yourself as comfortable as possible,

Bringing pillows and blankets to all the parts of your body that feel like they're a little further away from the earth than the rest of the body,

Just bridging that distance so all your muscles can relax and can become soft.

Maybe you want to invite a big yawn to start the settling,

To start the journey inside,

Taking a big inhale and then just yawning it out.

And maybe your body is calling for a little wiggle into full stillness.

And then I invite you to just start connecting with your ears and the sense of hearing,

Hearing the soundscape that you are embedded in,

Any sounds of the animals,

People around you,

Joyful songs of the birds and whatever else you can find in the right here,

Right now.

And from your ears becoming aware of your eyes,

Seeing whatever you can see behind the closed eyelids.

Maybe it is playful colors floating around and all the colors and the shapes of the flowers that are growing across the plains,

Pure white,

Purples,

Yellows,

However intense or however soft they might appear,

Welcoming all the sensations you can see.

And then as we have connected from the eyes and the ears,

Let's also connect to the tongue and the sense of taste and maybe recalling the sweet taste of a wild strawberry,

So small yet so flavorful,

Like the sweet,

Sweet nourishing taste of rest.

Maybe swallowing and finding a completely different taste,

Just letting the flows of the body shine forth,

Go their way,

Letting the flows nourish you,

Just like a stream running through the forest,

Giving all the nourishments to all the trees,

To all the grasses,

To every living being in this great symbiotic circle that is Mother Nature.

And from the flows inside and the tastes on the tongue,

Let's connect to that sense of touch,

A deep-rooted sense of being carried by the earth,

Being part of the earth,

Almost like our body has been able to grow roots that go deep down and you're being held in love and in care by Mother Earth,

Surrounded by all its great and tiny beings that are there to support you.

And then just feeling how this lands in the feet and in the legs,

How does it feel with the buttocks and the backside of your torso,

How does it feel in the arms and the shoulders and the head,

Your left side and your right side,

And how does it feel in your front side,

Finding all sensations and maybe starting to connect to a warm feeling inside of you,

Maybe a warmth that resembles the touch of the sunlight on your skin,

On your clothes and deep within you,

And then maybe finding a gentle cool stroke of a soft breeze on the skin and just embracing that gentle touch that is always that is always around us in the form of air,

That is also inside of us through every inhale we take,

Feeling that gentle nourishing touch in the nostrils,

Feeling it in the throat and all the way down in the belly,

Following your breath deep inside,

Finding the impact,

That expansion and the relaxation with every breath we take,

Finding that through the expansion we receive and through the relaxation we can give back,

Maybe almost like a bumblebee expanding the wings to fly from flower to flower and allowing for the exchange of the pollens through the relaxation on the leaves of each and every spot they land.

Welcome home,

Welcome home to your rest itself,

My dear.

Let's take our awareness onto a journey throughout the lands of our body,

Through the hills and the valleys that is our body.

You're invited to gently bring your awareness to your right hand thumb,

Feeling the sensations on your right hand thumb,

Tip of the thumb,

First finger,

Second finger,

Third finger and fourth finger,

The palm of your hand,

The back of your hand,

The right wrist,

Elbow,

Shoulder,

Right side of the chest,

Waist,

Hip,

The right thigh,

Back and front,

The right knee,

The right shin and calf,

The right ankle,

Top of the foot,

Sole of the right foot,

The big toe,

Second toe,

Third toe,

Fourth toe and fifth toe,

Your entire right side and then letting your awareness gently and slowly travel over to your left side,

Coming aware of the left hand thumb,

First finger,

Second finger,

Third finger and fourth finger,

Palm of your hand,

The back of your left hand,

The left wrist,

Elbow,

Left shoulder,

Inside of the left chest,

Left waist and left hip,

The thigh,

The back and the front of your left leg,

Left knee,

Shin and calf,

Left ankle,

The top of the left foot and the sole of the left foot,

The left big toe,

Second toe,

Third toe,

Fourth toe and fifth toe,

Connecting to your entire left side,

From there connecting to the left buttocks,

The right side of the buttocks,

Pelvis,

Lower abdomen,

Navel center and the lower back,

Middle back,

The shoulder blades,

Left chest,

The right chest and center behind the breastbone,

Your heart center,

Coming aware of the little valley in between the collarbones,

The throat pit,

The back side of the neck and the entire throat,

Coming aware of the back of the head,

The crown of the head and letting your awareness go down the left side of the head and the left ear and the right side and the right ear,

Coming aware of the forehead,

The temple,

Left and right and right and left,

Eyebrows,

Center of the eyebrows,

The eyelids and the eyes,

Your nose,

Your upper lip,

Your lower lip,

Your chin,

Down again to the throat pit,

Where you can connect again to the flow of your breath,

Simply observing it,

Feeling it pass unrestricted and free to wander and from your throat pit allowing for your awareness to go to the eyebrow center and starting to imagine a diamond shape on your body,

The eyebrow center,

The right side of your chest,

This lower center of the pelvis and the left side of your chest and alongside this diamond shape,

You're welcome to imagine a light traveling with every breath,

Direction is your choice,

Allow it to just flow alongside its desired route throughout the entire body's corners,

Proceeding with every inhale and every exhale and from this journey of the breath through the body,

Through the torso,

I invite you to become aware of a feeling of being centered,

Being centered,

Where do you find this in your body and from that feeling of being centered,

Where do you find the opposite feeling of being distracted,

Feeling of being uneasy and maybe you want to hold both feelings,

The centered calmness,

Flowing,

Floating,

Unease,

Simultaneously in your awareness and see how that feels,

Maybe you want to then continue to connect to the feeling and find that you can feel very grounded and maybe from that groundedness,

You can feel very afloat,

Very light as if the wind could carry you away and then again and then again connect to the both,

Deep groundedness,

That thorough connection to mother earth and that feeling of being whisked away with the wind into new adventures maybe and then from there allowing for your awareness to settle right back into your body,

Wherever it may take you right now,

Spontaneously finding that place and that feeling of being in stillness,

Still carried by mother earth in that very same spot that you were at the beginning of this practice,

Finding how the soundscape that you are embedded in might have changed,

Might have still be the same and welcoming all the sensations from the outside back in,

Taking deeper inhales,

Expanding more and more,

Receiving more and more nourishment and maybe starting to wake the body up with a sigh or a gentle move,

Whichever one is calling you,

Gently rolling over onto your favorite side and in your own time opening your eyes back to the world outside.

As we finish this practice of yoga nidra recorded in the lush green hills of northern Spain.

Thank you for listening,

Thank you for taking time and resting.
