Hi,

It's Rei,

Your Transformational Soul Coach,

And thank you for taking this time to meditate on the power of slowing down in this fast-paced world where it can feel difficult to simply relax without feeling like others will get ahead of you or feeling as if resting is not productive when that is very far from the truth.

Let's begin.

Sit in a comfortable seated position,

Spine nice and tall.

If you have the tendency to hunch,

Make sure you prop a pillow behind your back to support you,

Palms facing the ceiling,

In your lap or on your knees,

And allow your eyes to draw to a close,

Inviting a big breath in through the nose and exhaling with the ha sound,

We'll do this two more times,

Breathing in through the nose,

Audible ha sound out,

Last one in and ha,

Activating our parasympathetic nervous system,

And simply observing how you are right now in this moment.

Simply bring your attention to your heartbeat,

If it feels hard to connect to this space,

You may place a hand in the center of your chest to feel,

To sense its rhythm,

And as you are sensing the timing and beat of your heart,

Perhaps you might reflect on how your heart races and slows down during your day to day activities.

Place your hand back down if it was on your chest,

And I invite you to think about all the things you need to complete today or this week,

All the things that need to be accomplished,

All boxes that need to be checked,

All responsibilities that need to be fulfilled,

Bringing them up in your awareness,

And as you do,

Notice,

Sense in your body if there are any shifts,

Maybe your forehead feels warm,

Active,

Maybe there's a sensation in your chest,

Or your breathing has changed,

Maybe there's a story of why you're sitting here right now and not awake and doing these things,

And that's okay,

Just observe,

Like a scientist,

Simply noticing what you are doing in your body as you think and think and think.

Take a big breath in,

Slow breath out,

Now I invite you to question yourself and ask,

Would you expect any other human being,

Anyone you love,

To be active,

Doing,

And productive at every moment?

How could such an expectation be fair or reasonable to anyone?

This expectation to be busy at every moment,

Whether it's physically or mentally,

It's simply not realistic,

Neither is it fair for anyone,

Including ourselves.

And now,

Intentionally allowing your breath to slow down,

Maybe even placing one hand on your lower belly,

Hooking the thumb in your navel,

Allowing the other fingers to relax below,

And breathing into your stomach,

Your gut.

Feeling your hand move outwards,

Move up as you inhale,

And as you exhale,

Feeling your hand move closer towards your spine.

See if you can elongate,

Stretch your inhale and exhales so they are one second or two seconds longer.

Breathing gently,

Without any force,

And if any thoughts are arising,

Anything you need to do or complete,

Any stories,

Bring the attention back to your breath.

Back to the sensation of the cool breath moving in and out through your nostrils.

Inflating your whole body like a balloon.

And with each breath,

Imagine yourself moving further away from the race,

The hustle,

The hustle and the relentless pace of life.

Starting to feel a sense of spaciousness in your mind,

In your body as you slow down.

And almost visualizing like a very stormy ocean,

Turn completely calm and still,

Where you are able to see the clearest reflection of your beautiful self,

Your soul.

As you connect with this visualization,

Notice how it feels in your body,

How this translates into feelings and sensations in your body.

And using your next inhale,

Absorbing,

Amplifying this feeling even more.

Absorbing the tranquility of this moment,

And letting it sink deeper into your consciousness.

Deeper into every single cell in your body.

Letting every single organ welcome this silence,

The slowing down.

And becoming one with peace.

I invite you to contemplate that there is no race to finish.

That life is not a sprint.

It is a marathon.

A journey of ups and downs and turns.

Going backwards,

Forwards,

Spiraling.

And every moment,

Each moment of silence is a positive step along this path.

Because every time we slow down,

We are able to connect with the true essence of who we are.

That is existence,

Consciousness and bliss.

That is who we truly are.

And we can draw power from this beingness.

And even right now,

You might feel some tingling or an expansion in your chest area.

Or as if your body is gently floating,

Light as a feather.

Becoming one with this space around you.

And asking yourself,

If you were able to feel like this,

Whatever you're experiencing right now,

Whatever you've created in your body right now,

For even a few minutes in a day,

How would that shift your pace and rhythm?

How would you flow through your day from one task to the other?

And setting the intention here and now,

My loves,

To continue to be in this space of silence.

Of slowing down as you move about your day,

Your week,

Your month.

Keeping this feeling,

This embodiment with you.

Big breath in.

And exhaling it all out,

Letting go.

And affirming silently or out loud,

It is safe for me to slow down.

Because I know every time I move into stillness within myself,

I am able to give even more.

I am able to move even more effectively and efficiently.

Beautiful.

Let us now close our practice by bringing one hand or both hands onto the heart or in Anjali Mudra,

Prayer position.

Sensing your heartbeat now.

And acknowledging what has shifted from when you first began this meditation with me.

And gently allowing your hands to move back down on your lap.

Rolling the shoulders back,

Opening up the chest a little bit wider.

Saying,

Hello world,

I am ready,

Ready to have an amazing day,

Full of connection,

Full of joy.

Feeling into your pelvic bowl,

Sensing the weight of your body on the seat beneath you.

And slowly opening up your eyes with a smile.

Thank you.

Thank you for this reminder! I especially appreciated asking if we would place these expectations on a friend.
