Balloon breath meditation.

This meditation is designed especially for you.

To help you feel good,

Feel safe,

Feel peaceful now and always.

Allow your eyes to close and rest into your body.

Rest your head.

Rest your face.

Your eyes.

Your cheeks.

Your mouth.

Your lips.

And your tongue.

Resting your arms.

Your hands.

Your legs.

And your feet.

Notice your body breathing as you inhale and exhale.

Your breath goes in and out.

Your chest goes up and down.

That's right,

A gentle,

Easy breath as you inhale and exhale.

Let's do this together three times.

Inhale and exhale.

Inhale and exhale.

Inhale and exhale.

Good.

Now breathe into your heart and imagine your heart is a balloon.

Your heart expands with an inhale and gets smaller with an exhale.

Breathing with each inhale and getting smaller with each exhale.

And feel how relaxed your body can get with each breath.

As you inhale and exhale.

Inhale and exhale.

I wonder what color is your heart shaped balloon?

Can you change the colors as you breathe?

Can you turn red into orange?

Orange into yellow.

Yellow into green.

Green into blue.

Blue into purple.

Our hearts can be a rainbow of colors.

Because sometimes we can feel many things at the same time.

And sometimes we can get upset.

We can feel sad.

We're angry.

We're frustrated with someone or something.

And that's okay.

And sometimes we can get upset with ourselves.

And that's okay too.

Because feelings are just feelings.

They come and they go.

Like a balloon.

Feelings can get bigger and feelings can get smaller.

When you have sad or angry feelings,

You can breathe into your heart.

And imagine your heart growing with each breath.

As you inhale and exhale.

Inhale and exhale.

Feelings can change like colors and turn into new feelings that feel really good.

But first,

Let's discover what you're feeling.

And become an explorer.

Exploring the world of your feelings.

Ready?

What are you feeling now?

Happy?

Sad?

Frustrated?

Fear?

Angry?

Or light and fluffy?

As you breathe,

Imagine your heart getting higher with each inhale and each exhale.

Your heart is feeling so light.

You might even imagine your whole body is floating too.

With each inhale and exhale.

Inhale and exhale.

Feeling higher into the sky.

Past the clouds floating so high.

To a place where your imagination is free.

To feel anything you want to be.

How do you want to feel now?

Strong like a lion?

Brave like a bear?

Free like a bird?

Peaceful like a butterfly?

Or loved like a teddy bear?

Imagine you are a teddy bear right now.

How do you feel?

Soft and fuzzy inside?

Good.

Give yourself a huge hug now.

And the best part is you can hug yourself anytime.

We know we all want to be the best at everything.

But sometimes we're not.

And that's okay.

Sometimes things take time.

To learn and to grow.

And that's okay.

And you know,

It's also okay to share.

And let other people be the best too.

We can let other people win.

We can let other people be right.

Because not being right doesn't mean that we're wrong.

Oh no.

That means it's someone else's turn.

You can really share anything.

And when you share something you love,

Someone else will share something they love with you.

Imagine how good that can feel.

Our hearts are big enough for others.

Because our hearts shine like the sun.

And the sun shines for everyone.

Breathe into your heart now.

And feel it expand with love.

Imagine it glowing like the sun.

Becoming brighter as you feel more and more love.

Becoming so bright that your heart is filling up this whole room.

And the next time you feel upset,

Remember your heart is so big.

And so bright.

And so beautiful.

Think of all the people you love.

Place them inside of your heart.

And remember,

There is room for everyone,

Especially you.

Because love is like magic.

It makes everything feel better.

Can you feel your love?

Imagine it growing larger beyond this room.

Growing beyond your house.

Beyond your block.

Beyond your neighborhood.

Building up your city.

And shining brightly for the world.

How good does that feel?

Can you turn it up and make it feel even better?

Can you shine even brighter?

Yes.

And remember,

You can come back to this feeling anytime.

Thank you.

Beautiful and simple meditation for kids of all ages. My 6 year old was so relaxed he was snoozing before it ended. Great lesson about feelings and how we can control them with our hearts.
