Hi,
My name is Renee Bond and I want to dedicate this loving kindness or meta meditation to all of the caregivers.
In all the ways that we come to caring for young humans,
Please know that you matter.
I know this role is all consuming and it's overwhelming,
Which is why we come to this meditation.
This is a way for us to really open our hearts,
To pause,
And to make space for all of us,
Showing loving kindness to ourselves and also to our children.
So as we go along here,
Find a really comfortable position in your body and it can be whatever position you want,
Be sitting or laying.
Eyes closed as preferred.
And as we go along and you start to notice physical sensations,
See if you can bring 5 to 10% more relaxation.
So with your eyes closed,
Envision in your mind your child,
A time when joy and delight radiated from their being.
Take into account all the different parts,
The joy and laughter and the cuddles,
The mind states,
Like the emotions,
Even the really big ones,
All the memories.
Imagine to fill life and the journey to come for this child,
Fill the hope and goodwill that you have for that journey.
With your eyes closed,
Open your heart and repeat the following sentiment to your dear one,
Either aloud or silently.
May you be happy.
May you be healthy.
May you be safe.
May you live with the ease of well-being.
May you be happy.
May you be healthy.
May you be safe.
May you live with the ease of well-being.
And now we're going to move the same exact love and care that you just delivered so sweetly to your child and we're going to bring to awareness an image of yourself.
Now you can imagine any time of your life,
So when you were a baby,
Those teeny tiny chubby little hands,
When you were a kid or a teenager,
All the hope and possibility or present day as a caregiver.
So anytime they're all fine.
And gather a sense of the fullness and beauty of your spirit.
And all the different parts of you,
They're all welcome here,
The soft side,
The hard side,
The sadness,
The anger,
The silly part of you,
The strong,
Kind,
Confident,
Grounded part of you,
Even the part of you that loses it,
There's space for all of your parts.
You are whole and worthy and lovely.
Embrace to the roles that you play along with the struggles and the challenges,
The sorrow and the joy.
With the same care that you give so freely day after day to others,
Direct loving kindness to yourself and repeat the following.

Now this last image that we're going to create in our mind is going to be of all the caregivers of the world,
Our collective human caregiving tribe.

The laughter,
The connection,
The struggles and challenges and loneliness.
And with a heartfelt sense of love and kindness,
We're going to send support to all the caregivers worldwide by repeating after me.
