Awakening your inner shaman.

Visualize a tree that you feel you have a strong connection to.

This tree may be one you've known since childhood,

Or perhaps it came across your path recently and drew your attention.

Admire its size,

The branches,

The leaves.

Become aware of the knots and the patterns in the bark.

Thank the tree for appearing and assisting you in your journey to meet your shaman teacher.

Look down at the roots,

Watch them as they come alive,

And raise up to create an opening for you into the lower world.

You peer into the hole,

And without hesitation,

You jump into what seems to be a dark,

Tunneled slide.

It curves downward,

Left,

Then right,

Until it opens into the base of a grassy knoll.

Above,

You see a brightly lit sky.

The heat of the sun warms you up and caresses your face.

Around you,

You take in the view of a beautiful meadow.

You see an animal in the distance,

And it stares right back at you.

A slow-moving river slithers right through the center of the meadow and is adorned with plant life and butterflies.

You're curious about the animal,

But when you look for it again,

It is gone.

The gentle breeze entices you to walk closer to the river,

Where you discover three stones laying on the water's edge.

You pick up the first stone and pay close attention to its size and weight.

This rock has a message for you.

The colors of the stone begin to swirl,

And within seconds,

A word appears.

You read the word.

The stone asks you to throw it into the river.

You cast the stone as far as you can into the river and hear the loud splash as the river swallows it up.

You look down and pick up the second stone.

You take note of its texture and shape.

As you stare into this stone,

An image reveals itself.

The longer you gaze into it,

The clearer this image becomes.

What image do you see?

The stone asks you to throw it into the river.

You cast the stone,

And the river happily takes it with a quick splash.

You look down and see the third stone.

You admire the colors and the vibration you feel as you hold it in your hand.

It begins to create a sound.

You bring it up to your ear to listen.

What sound do you hear?

Ready to let it go,

You take a few steps back and launch the stone into the air.

You watch as it plummets a great distance away into the river.

A strong wind picks up and you notice a swarm of dragonflies are nearby.

As they get closer,

They surround you.

Their wings reflect every color of the rainbow.

Some of them are so bright,

It's hard to look at them because the light of the sun reflects from their wings into your eyes.

They are here to assist you on your journey to meet your shaman teacher.

Each dragonfly flies behind you and grabs a part of your clothing,

Lifting you into the air.

Their wings create a calming humming sound that vibrates throughout your whole body.

You follow the winding river for several miles until the meadow's edge drops off,

Creating a waterfall.

You look over the edge and notice a rainbow appearing at the bottom.

And though the terrain is steep,

You realize you must get down there somehow.

The dragonflies reassure you they will safely lower you to the bottom where you can take a closer look.

Once at the bottom,

The dragonflies rest you on your feet and quickly swarm away.

You become entranced by the sound of the water trickling off the cliffs and hitting the stones and pool of water in front of you.

It creates a light mist that kisses your cheeks and you decide to step into the pool of water.

Even though the water is very shallow,

The slow current that pushes against your shins and the smooth stones beneath your feet are rejuvenating.

An animal catches your eye behind the falls.

This is the same animal that disappeared earlier by the river.

You decide to follow it and walk right through the shower of water,

Reaching the hidden cave on the other side.

You get a full view of the animal this time,

Although when you get close enough,

The animal disappears into thin air.

Ready to dry off,

You become curious about the cave.

You decide to walk deep into the bowels of the cave,

Further into the darkness.

Once it becomes pitch black,

You look down and notice something is glowing.

You realize it's your chest that is radiating such a strong white light.

The brilliant light projects onto the cave's walls and creates dancing shadows.

You look down at your chest again and the light begins to transform and takes the shape of a small white bat.

This little winged creature flies out from your rib cage and grows into a magnificent human-sized bat.

Though its size is a bit intimidating,

It reassures you that it is here to help you on your journey.

You climb on its back and take flight to the skies.

You feel very comfortable during the flight.

You feel the wind flow through your hair and the heat from the sun.

It's quite cozy.

You see the crystal mountains in the distance.

The bat informs you this is your destination.

You circle the mountain top three times before the bat swoops down and lands on the platform just below the crest of the mountain.

This platform is well hidden.

You can only find it if you know where to look.

Further inside,

You see a set of medieval wooden doors with symbols of sacred geometry.

There are some symbols you recognize and others you don't.

The bat encourages you to go inside.

He will wait for your return.

As you pull the copper handle of the door,

It easily glides open.

You step inside and find yourself in a grand crystal dome.

Every crystal and stone in existence were used to create the patterns and designs in its concave ceiling and walls.

You become entranced with the gigantic six-sided obelisk centered in the room.

It's made of the purest crystal quartz and seems to sparkle.

This light bounces across to the walls,

Lighting up other crystals,

While refracting that light to others.

The colors are alive.

You follow the crystal monolith up towards the ceiling.

It's brightly lit by 12 spherical skylights incorporated into the complex design.

You notice that the skylights follow the circular pattern around the upper dome.

Reflecting the circle above,

There is a circle below,

Surrounding the crystal obelisk.

Following the perimeter of the circle are 12 tables,

Perfectly positioned below each skylight.

They are decorated in the same pattern that adorns the walls.

You intuitively go to one of the tables and lay upon the smooth slab.

The crystal obelisk speaks to you.

It is so grateful that you are here.

It knows that this journey was challenging for you.

And because of your determination,

It wants to offer you one precious song to raise your spirits.

You rest your head and feel your body follow.

Your body tunes into this song that is just for you.

Ah Ah Ah Ah Ah Ah Ah Ah Ah Ah The sound waves continue to pulsate from your crown down to your feet.

You feel renewed and ready to continue your journey.

You are ready to meet your shaman teacher.

The crystal obelisk chimes and a passageway presents itself on the side.

Sliding off of the table,

You walk over to this passageway and see it is a spiral staircase leading down.

The crystal stairs spiral around the obelisk and you can see the light reflecting from below.

You begin to step downwards.

One flight.

Two flights.

The stairs continue down and after three flights,

It opens into a cave.

A fire pit crackles in the center while pillows create a semi-circle next to the pit.

An animal is sitting next to the fire.

You recognize it from before.

It's the same one you've seen throughout your journey.

It too recognizes you.

It radiates warmth and love.

This animal has been expecting you.

It begins to shape shift into human form.

I am your shaman teacher.

Welcome.

Their face seems familiar somehow.

You recognize their eyes,

Nose,

Cheekbones,

Mouth,

And jaw.

They laugh from their gut and you remember that too.

You take in the way their hair frames their face,

The position of their body,

And the articles of clothing they wear.

These are all so familiar to you.

It's like meeting an old friend.

Your shaman teacher calls you over to sit down by the fire.

They know why you are there.

This is your initiation.

I will activate your strong eye.

This is a gift you've had since your first breath,

And after today,

It will create even more clarity.

You are a seer of truth.

With that comes great responsibility.

This gift is for you to be used for the greatest good.

If it is used for any other purpose,

It will be lost to you.

They tell you to sit or lay down on the blanket on the other side of the pit.

They begin to sing.

You take note of the sensations you feel.

Focus on your head,

Your neck and shoulders,

Your arms and hands,

Your core.

Then your focus draws down from your hips to your thighs,

Your knees,

Your ankles and then feet.

Your shaman teacher says,

You are ready.

Every challenge that comes across your path,

You are ready.

You are stronger than you were before because you know you are not alone.

You are connected to your inner wisdom,

Your higher self.

The connection is strong.

You are surrounded by guides willing to assist you in where you need to go.

The love and compassion for you is infinite.

And now,

You have connected with me,

Your shaman teacher.

This journey is a gift to you.

Whenever you are in search for answers,

Ask for me.

Then begin your journey.

Before you leave,

Your shaman teacher whispers some words of wisdom in your ear,

Then smiles.

They beam with joy.

The drum begins to call you back.

You thank your shaman teacher for the connection and bid farewell.

You follow the spiral staircase up and walk through the wooden doors to greet the white bat.

You climb on his back and take flight to the waterfall's cave.

The dragonflies meet you and transport you back at the river where you found the three stones.

You see the grassy knoll across the meadow and climb up the tunneled slide to your tree.

You are home.
