We all have times when we're hard on ourselves.

In order to break out of this habit and pattern,

We need to mindfully start being kind to ourselves instead.

We need to shift the narrative so that we can then see the world in a new way.

One way to start being kinder to ourselves is to give ourselves credit for our own wisdom.

Really,

Think about yourself in younger years compared with now.

You've learned a lot.

You have overcome challenges.

You have done hard things.

When we acknowledge our own self-worth,

Especially by writing,

It is very healing.

This tool will help you actually acknowledge your accomplishments by tapping into your own wisdom,

And I call it Wisdom Moments.

It's really easy.

What you will do is you just get a piece of paper,

Or if you'd like,

Use a journal,

And write this prompt at the top of the paper.

Three things I've learned about kindness.

Then write down three things that you know about kindness.

When you're done,

Read it over and acknowledge for yourself that you really do know how kindness feels,

What kindness means for others,

And the goodness of kindness in the world.

Now you can use the Wisdom Moments tool to help you shift your perspective any time.

You just change the prompt,

And you'll tap into your own wisdom and see for yourself that you are smart,

Capable,

And lovable.

All ways to show yourself kindness,

Right?

Here are a few prompts that you can use for your Wisdom Moments,

So just listen to this track again when you want a new prompt,

Or just write them down for yourself so you can have a list handy whenever you're ready.

Here they are.

Three things I've learned about being healthy.

Three things I've learned about happiness.

Three things I've learned about calming myself when I'm upset.

Three things I've learned about gratitude.

Three things I've learned about surviving hard times.

Three things I've learned about motivation.

Three things I've learned about forgiveness.

You can add to this list with your own ideas.

You can use these prompts in any order.

Just choose the one that you feel like writing about.

The point is,

As you turn your attention to recognizing your own wisdom,

You are also recognizing that you are smart,

That you are wise,

And that feels good.

So even though this lesson is simple,

It's probably not something that you have normally spent a lot of time doing.

I hope you'll give it a try and really notice how you feel afterwards.
