This gentle practice guides you to sense into different parts of the body with curiosity, to see what sensations you find in this moment. It strengthens your connection with your breath, with your body (interoception), and offers a resourceful pause amid your day. Use this guided practice during daily transitions or before bedtime to return home.

Welcome dear one.

Today we're going to sense our body for subtle sensations.

This could be pressure,

Temperature,

Numbness,

Spaciousness,

Tightness,

Hollowness,

Denseness,

Prickliness,

Fluidness,

And so many more words to describe the wide range of sensations we might find.

As we drop in today,

I invite you to be curious and open as if this were the very first time you've ever sensed for sensations within.

And notice how your experience changes as you choose to place your attention somewhere.

Play around and explore.

And as always,

Trust your wise bodies.

My guidance is simply suggestion.

So let's begin with a deep breath in and out as we go in.

If it feels right,

You can close or half-lid your eyes.

And throughout the practice and beyond the practice,

Inviting you to make any adjustments that would increase your comfort,

Knowing this could be very tiny and subtle.

Let's focus in on the strong,

Hinged bone,

The muscles around it,

The protective skin on top.

Perhaps directing your next breath here to the jaw,

Simply noticing.

And turning your attention to the tips of your toes.

You could focus in on the big toe if your mind needs a smaller area to sense.

Seeing what's here.

And moving across the feet to your heels.

What is present in your heels?

Moving now to the ankles.

And a gentle invitation to reconnect with your breath.

Are you still able to sense your breath as you turn your focus on a body part?

Moving our attention to the knees.

Are there any differences between the left and right sides?

And moving up to your ribs.

What's present here today?

Turning attention now towards your heart center,

The chest area.

With curiosity,

With light exploration.

Placing awareness now on your fingertips,

The very ends of your fingers.

And moving down just a little bit to the palms of your hands.

What are you sensing on your palms?

Another invitation to reconnect with the breath.

Moving your attention now to your shoulders.

Your neck.

There's the front of the neck,

Both sides,

The back side.

Moving now to where your hair meets your head.

The tips of your hair.

Let's go to the tiny muscles around your eyes.

Perhaps expanding out to your cheeks,

Your forehead,

The front of your face.

And I'll leave you a few breaths now to further explore any area on your own.

See where you are drawn.

Again,

Reminding you of that breath.

And finally,

Let's return to the jaw,

Where we began.

What sensations are present here now,

In this new moment?

Knowing there's no right or wrong,

There's nothing to expect.

Simply bringing our curiosity and awareness to this place in the body.

To close our practice,

I invite you to take a breath of gratitude for the time you chose to spend here today with your body.

And thanking yourself in whatever way feels right.

Your physical body,

Your mental body,

Your emotional body,

Your spiritual body.

And more.

Thank you for being here.

Go well and rooted into your day.
