This meditation is for all the new mums and dads out there who have recently been blessed with welcoming a new baby into your lives.

My heartfelt congratulations to you.

It is certainly the start of an extraordinary journey and I know how hard it can be to find some time just for you so I've created this meditation so you have a little bit of a pause in your day to rest and refresh and renew.

And those moments you can find where you can reinvest in yourself are so precious right now.

So please make sure you have a few moments where you're undisturbed.

If you have a partner that you would like to do this meditation with,

Go and grab them and you can lie down or sit down together and do this meditation together.

And if you're doing it on your own,

I am here supporting you so whatever your situation is please just relax and sink into this meditation and this special time for you.

I'd like you to take a few deep breaths and then just settle into your body,

Noticing where you can feel the breath in the body and just allowing the breath to settle,

To slow down,

To signal to your body that it's okay to rest for a few moments.

This time is just for you.

And taking a hand now and placing it onto the heart and perhaps taking your other hand and placing it on top and just tuning into the beating of your heart.

Noticing the rise and the fall of the chest with your hands gently resting there.

And I know your world right now feels like it's all about your new baby as it well should be but it's also about you.

We're just going to take a few moments to tune into our senses to notice what you can see on the back of the eyelids.

Noticing any light or darkness,

Any shadows or shapes.

And you can do this with your baby as well by just tuning in with what you can see right in front of you when you're holding your baby,

Gazing into the little one's eyes and just taking in every detail that you can see when they're with you.

But for right now tuning into what you can see on the back of the eyelids and tuning into your sense of hearing what you can hear in this moment in the room and outside the room.

And once again you can do this with your little one when they're with you again by tuning into all those little baby sounds,

All the little mews and squeaks and cries.

And coming to your sense of smell and just noticing the air at the nostrils,

Noticing how the breath is a little bit cooler on the inhale and warmer on the exhale.

And when you're with your baby again,

Tuning into your sense of smell,

That beautiful baby smell on top of the head,

Under the neck,

The chin,

Just inhaling your baby,

That beautiful primal urge to smell your young.

And tuning into your sense of taste,

Noticing any taste that might be present in the mouth.

And as your baby grows,

You will have lots of fun exploring different tastes with your little one,

Introducing them to lots of different food.

And then turning into your sense of touch and resting on your chest or on the bed or on your lap.

And with your little one when you're next together,

Just touching that beautiful skin,

Gently stroking the hair,

Feeling the warmth of their body against yours.

So many moments of gratitude,

Of presence,

Taking time for yourself to tune into your senses whenever you need it and doing the same when you need to be more present with your baby.

You can stay here focused on your breath for as long as you need.

Or if you're ready to come out of this meditation,

Just gently opening up the eyes,

Expressing some gratitude to yourself that you took the time to engage in this practice today and wishing you the most beautiful rest of your day ahead.

Thank you.
