Welcome to this short yet powerful breath of fire meditation.
This practice will help energize your body,
Clear your mind,
And awaken your inner power.
Breath of fire,
Also known as Kapalabhati,
Is a rapid rhythmic breathwork technique that detoxifies the body and increases mental clarity.
Find a comfortable seated position with a tall spine.
Rest your hands on your knees,
Palms facing up,
And if it feels good,
Softly close your eyes and bring your awareness inward.
Take a deep breath in through your nose and exhale slowly through your mouth.
We'll do this twice more.
Inhaling through the nose,
Exhaling through the mouth.
One more time.
Inhaling through the nose,
Fill up,
And exhale through the mouth,
Release.
Bringing your attention to your low belly,
In breath of fire,
The inhale happens naturally and the exhale is short,
Strong,
And active,
Powered by your diaphragm.
Let's begin.
Take a deep inhale through your nose,
And now start quick rhythmic exhales through your nose,
Pulling your belly in with each exhale.
Exhale,
Exhale,
Exhale,
Exhale.
Keep going.
The breath is steady and powerful,
And if you're new to this practice,
Start slow.
If you're not new and you're comfortable,
Pick up the pace,
Keeping your inhales and exhales equal in length.
Just a few more moments of this breath of fire,
Keep going.
Now take a deep inhale,
Hold for a moment at the top,
And exhale completely.
Natural breath in and out through the nose.
Let's go one more time together,
One more round of this breath of fire.
This time will go a little bit longer.
So start to inhale deeply through the nose and begin again.
Sharp exhales through the nose,
Belly pushing with each breath.
Exhale,
Exhale,
Exhale,
Exhale,
Exhale.
Keep going,
Building heat,
Igniting your energy,
And feeling yourself waking up from the inside out.
Now taking a deep breath in through the nose,
Hold the breath at the top,
And exhale slowly out of the mouth.
Notice the sensations in your body,
The warmth,
The energy,
The clarity.
When you're ready,
Gently open your eyes.
