This meditation is a basic breathwork practice created to regulate your nervous system. The practice involves rhythmic breathing or, breathing to a beat. To complete this practice, inhale through the nose into the belly and exhale fully out of the mouth. The breaths are fluid with no pause inbetween. Breathing in a rhythm with extended exhales activates the parasympathetic nervous system which can regulate and calm the fight/flight response. Explore this practice to relieve stress and anxiety

Welcome to the Rhythmic Regulate Sequence.

In this breathwork sequence,

We will activate the parasympathetic nervous system,

Calming down the sympathetic nervous system using our breath in beats.

We will breathe in through the nose and out through the mouth with no pause in between.

The first segment will be in for two beats and out for four beats.

And after a series of minutes,

We will take one deep breath in,

Out,

And then begin a 4-4 segment,

Breathing in for four seconds and breathing out for four seconds.

The invitation here is to breathe into the diaphragm,

Breathe into your belly,

And exhale fully.

It is recommended that you sit up for this breathwork sequence as it can support with the vertical alignment of your energetic centers.

This breathwork sequence can be done at any time.

There is to create some space for yourself,

Maybe 10 minutes,

Where you will be uninterrupted.

So you will hear a beat begin in just a moment.

And with that,

I will guide you through the inhales and the exhales.

Just follow along as you can.

And if you fall out of the beat,

Just jump back in whenever it feels good for you.

So just closing down your eyes as you find a comfortable position,

Noticing your body and your breath.
