In this meditation we will take a few moments out of our day to put down the unnecessary weight we're carrying around: the dissatisfaction with where we are, the regrets about where we've been and the fears about where we're going. We will allow ourselves peace, just because.

So let's start by finding a comfortable seated position.

Take a few breaths to wiggle around in your chair a little bit to find stillness.

Today we're just going to do a short meditation,

Maybe to start the day,

Maybe to end the day,

Maybe just to take a break from the day,

Maybe to experience the day a little bit more fully.

Whatever use case you feel like you need right now,

Let this be that.

Let's focus on taking off the baggage that we're carrying around.

Let's make ourselves lighter for the couple of minutes that we're practicing.

Maybe you take all of the weight out of the baggage immediately.

Maybe you take one at a time.

How am I feeling today professionally?

What are the things I'm doing that I shouldn't be?

What are the things I should be doing but I'm not?

Let's take out that brick from our backpack.

Just however we're doing in this moment,

Let's let ourselves be doing that.

No more,

No less.

Just for right now.

How are you feeling romantically?

Maybe you're connected with somebody.

Maybe you're going through a difficult stage in your intimate relationship.

Maybe it's all great in your intimate relationship.

Maybe you can sit in that space.

Maybe you don't have an intimate relationship at the moment but you'd really like one.

Maybe that comes with feelings of a lack of being lovable.

Maybe that comes with pain of previous intimate relationships.

Whatever is coming up for you right now,

Identify what's heavy and unnecessary and just for these few moments,

Take them out of your backpack,

Put them on the ground.

Become lighter.

How are you feeling socially?

Maybe you have a friend group.

Maybe you just moved to a new place.

Maybe you're struggling to connect with the people you've connected with for years.

Maybe you've decided you don't want to spend time with the people you've been connecting with for years.

Whatever comes up socially for you,

See if you can identify the unnecessary baggage.

Take it out of the backpack and put it on the floor just for right now.

How are you feeling physically?

Can you feel each breath fully?

You have regular pain in your back or neck.

How do your legs feel,

Your hamstrings and calf muscles?

How does your core and your chest feel?

Maybe you're going through a difficult illness.

Maybe you feel better than you've ever felt before.

Maybe you'd prefer your body to look a certain way.

Maybe it used to look that way and it doesn't anymore.

Maybe it looks better than it's ever looked.

See if you can identify the unnecessary baggage,

The unnecessary bricks you're carrying around.

Put your hand into your backpack,

Grab the brick,

Take it out and put it on the floor just for right now.

If there's any other areas of your life that you feel like you're carrying around,

Heavy,

Cumbersome,

Challenging,

Weight,

See if you can dig your hand in deeper.

Identify the bricks,

All the bricks that are left down there.

Pull them out of your backpack,

Set them on the floor just for right now.

Do you feel any lighter?

See if you can explore the space of lightness,

The space of freedom,

The space of self-love,

Even if it's for just a few moments.

Thanks for sharing your practice with me.

Have a great rest of your day.
