A Recording from the 4 weeks Inner Power Series, each session will build on each other and I treat this like a program. Session 1 is on dealing with thoughtmares, finding calm amongst the storm by tapping into intuition/wisdom/consciousness. Whatever you call it, it's the observer mode, being mode. From this place, you can see things from a different perspective, and you are ready to delve into the next stage which is about the inner fire. Note, this must be practiced for it to take effect. This track contains ambient sounds in the background

So I'm calling this series Inner Power because that's all we really need.

We need to have this ability to create things.

If we're not aware of this inner power,

We can't use this thing that has always been there.

And back when I was getting into personal development,

If you guys are new to me,

I'll just explain a little bit.

I had a lot of anxiety.

That word,

You know,

That word feels more familiar than anything,

Right?

Feels like a word that everyone gets.

I had a ton of anxiety,

So much so that I was this thing.

I couldn't see anything beyond that.

For me,

It was a lot of social anxiety.

That's how it usually showed up.

So I would just get overwhelmed in front of people.

I wouldn't be able to speak.

My whole body would sweat.

So I used to wear black or just anything that would hide it,

You know.

But you can't really hide that from the face.

I used to carry around a tissue and just quickly wipe it so no one knows.

But then the face gets red,

So there's no really way to hide it.

Can anyone relate to that?

Put a yes in the chat.

Just feeling overwhelmed.

Some people is not social.

Some people is just generally feeling anxious when you've got something coming up or there's a lot of things going on.

It's just thinking.

It's a lot of thinking and thinking and then having these stories go on.

Fear is a good word to describe it.

So I basically lived in this place.

And I put in the event description thought mares.

Because that's what it is.

It's like you're having a nightmare,

But you're awake.

The thoughts are your nightmare.

It's a thought mare.

I was living in thought mares all day long.

I would avoid situations and avoid things because I just felt uncomfortable.

Things that I wanted to do even.

I couldn't really speak connect with women actually for a long time.

I used to get very nervous.

I couldn't even introduce myself.

I would get really nervous.

And then when I had these tasks or challenges and things to do,

I would just get so overwhelmed and I'll think of all the bad things that are going to happen.

And if I'm speaking to someone or I'm going into a situation,

I would think I would judge myself as well.

There's a constant judgement game going on.

That's what these thought mares do.

And then it turns it,

You know what it does,

It ropes in the body.

The thoughts are like,

Hey,

I've got to alert your body now.

This thought is going to recruit the body into this game.

Your whole body gets like fired up in this fight or flight mode that we all know,

Right?

And then more thoughts come and judging the fight or flight mode or judging how you performed or what you did or what you said to this person.

Oh,

I could have said that.

I can't believe that person said that to me.

Thoughts,

Thoughts,

Thoughts,

I have this thing coming up,

Thoughts,

Thoughts,

Thoughts.

What shall I do next?

Thoughts.

Will I be able to do this?

Thoughts.

Thoughts and thoughts.

So many of them are going on without us even knowing unconsciously most of the time.

And it's usually patterns that we picked up from our upbringing,

Right?

It's not our fault.

It's just how it's happened.

But we take it upon ourselves.

We say,

Well,

It is my fault because it's mine.

So of course it's my fault.

Then that just causes all of this,

Like these beliefs and we become this identity.

And you see people saying my anxiety,

Like it's yours,

You own.

Like it's saying my hand,

My anxiety.

I did this too.

So I'm not judging anyone.

I'm just saying what happens.

We get into this thing of like owning it as a part of us.

So,

Yeah,

I lived in that place for a long time and I'm sure a lot of you guys will agree it's hard.

It's not something you can just snap out of instantly.

So the reason I'm doing this four-part series is to go into how you can start raising your awareness and breaking out of this automatic identity that has been bestowed upon you really.

Because here's the thing,

People are sometimes skeptical about this.

About,

Oh,

Well,

How can I get past this?

I was.

But I didn't realize at the time that there were moments where I was going into peace.

There were moments where I was not thinking or overthinking.

There were moments where I was in this like flow and feeling good about life,

You know.

But this identity shadowed over me.

So it was like this cloud following me around.

And maybe you guys will agree with that cloud following you around and you're wondering like,

When's that cloud going to come back?

One of the things people say to me is when things are going well,

They're worried that it's going to all collapse.

It's like that fear of this cloud coming and ruining everything again.

Because we're attached to that happening.

But yeah,

We all go into peace.

You don't need to get peace.

It's already there.

It's happening all the time.

So this whole four part series is about reminding you how to tap into that.

But not just peace.

Aliveness.

I don't think about just peace being like,

Hey,

Let's sit on a rock and be calm all day.

No,

I want us to live our lives fully.

That's why I use the word power.

Living our lives fully in peace.

But peaceful aliveness.

Bring those two forces together.

The water and the fire.

And then using those as tools for creating and designing whatever we want to do in life.

Taking actions in the outside world.

It's not just about this inner game.

Hey,

I feel great inside.

Great.

But now this thing happens and I crumble.

No.

I did that for a while actually.

I just started mastering these energies.

And then I would have to face the real world,

Let's call it,

Or the physical world.

And I'd crumble.

I won't be able to take action to do.

Because these same old patterns start re-emerging.

So today we're going to go over the area of raising your awareness,

Your consciousness.

Tapping into that element of water.

That's what we're going to focus on today.

Next week's going to be about fire.

And you're going to have to wait to hear what the other two weeks are going to be about.

I'm holding some gentle suspense for you guys.

So why do I start with this consciousness?

You can use different names for this.

By the way,

I'm not attached to names.

I know some people are like,

Hey,

I'm a consciousness expert.

But for me it's all the same thing.

You can call it consciousness.

You can call it your higher self.

You can call it tapping into intuition.

You can call it stillness,

Slowing down,

Awareness.

Yeah awareness.

Whatever you want you can call it.

But you have to raise that awareness for you to be able to see things from a different perspective.

So that's what today is about.

Really slowing down.

Because thoughts and emotions,

Which I like to just classify together as mind.

Let's just call it mind.

The mind is always working.

But challenges happen when we try and resist it.

When we fight the mind.

And I said this to someone earlier actually.

It's like you're shaking.

Imagine there's like musky water.

There's like water and it's all like you can't see the water.

It's not clear.

So you start shaking it and moving it.

That's not going to clear the water.

You have to just let it settle.

You have to let everything just settle down.

And that's the hardest thing to do.

I'm going to be honest.

Meditating is not easy.

And I'm just going to use that word meditating.

But I don't mean just the act of sitting down and closing your eyes and you know regular stuff.

I mean going through life meditating where you're able to just observe.

And the act of meditation also is hard because it's such a strange concept.

You sit down and if we're just talking traditional awareness focused meditation.

You're sitting down and you're just becoming aware of everything around you.

You're sitting there just like hearing all these thoughts.

So the automatic inclination is to analyze them.

And so many people say to me,

Hey I'm not so good at meditation because I can't stop my thoughts.

I find it hard.

Meditation so hard I can't stop my thoughts.

You don't need to stop your thoughts.

Because how are you going to do that in general life?

Do you want to stop your thoughts?

Do you know what you're really asking for?

Do you know what you're really asking for?

You need those thoughts.

Those are useful.

It's only the meaning that's put on them.

The analysis that is not useful.

Thoughts occur just as a heart is beating.

It beats on its own.

I said to somebody the other day,

She was so challenged by all these thoughts.

She said I just want to stop them.

I don't know why they're happening.

I've got to do something about them.

And I said to her,

Is it your fault that you have these thoughts?

Is it your fault?

And she said no.

And I said so where are they coming from?

She said hmm,

Well I guess from my mind.

And I said so is that your fault?

And she said well I've got to do something about it though.

I said what do you want to do?

She started getting confused.

Because I was playing with her pattern.

Eventually she said yeah it's not my fault and there's nothing really I can do about it.

Because like I said it's the analysis,

It's the attachment to the thoughts which causes all of this trouble.

So when I say tapping into this element of water,

It's really just letting things just flow through.

Letting all of this stuff flow through.

Because they're not here forever.

Here's an example,

When I might have said this before but when I was traveling once,

I was getting so frustrated because I'd been on this long bus.

It was like night time.

And I'd finally got there.

And then I try and check into the place.

I was with someone at the time we were traveling.

And I was getting more frustrated because there's a long queue.

And I was hungry.

And you know that feeling,

They call it hangry right?

Getting hangry.

I just want to eat and go to sleep.

I don't want to do any of this.

I was just festering in my own thoughts.

And letting my anger and all of this stuff,

My body was getting involved.

And then the person I was with,

She said to me,

Raj you're really ugly when you're like this.

And it was more funny because her English is not her first language right?

So she just chose that word ugly.

And I just started laughing instantly.

Just burst out laughing.

And all of the things just went away.

All of the anger,

All of the stress,

All of it.

I felt great after that.

So you see how quickly thoughts can disappear.

And emotions can disappear.

And how your body can shift.

Like that.

It's gone.

It's gone.

If someone makes you laugh,

It's gone.

So just by that formula alone,

That tells you.

That tells you that they don't mean much if they're that fleeting.

That's one thing I want to say.

But the other part is,

When you step into that observer role,

Someone else said something to me the other day actually.

She said to me,

I was playing the piano and then my partner came in and was disturbing me.

And I felt this like,

These thoughts and these emotions and this like,

My body was reacting.

She said usually I would snap at him or I would just fester inside,

Internal pain,

You know,

Or anger.

But because I had told her an exercise to try before,

I told her to just sit in this awareness when this happens.

And she said,

Well,

I started noticing I was feeling angry and just let it be.

And then it just went away.

Because it's not attaching to it.

You're not attaching.

You're not grabbing it.

They say if an atom is not vibrating,

It's completely different.

Completely different.

We vibrate that thing,

Shake it up,

Of course it's going to feel painful.

So what I'm really talking about here is stepping outside of yourself,

Your identity of what this means.

And I'm not saying this is easy.

I'm saying it's a practice.

It's a practice.

Consciousness levels rise with practice and insight moments.

This lady said to me,

Wow,

I can't believe I was able to just sit there and it went away.

She had that experience.

She had a revelation for the first time.

And this has been the same with other people I've worked with.

We've done experiments or challenges,

We can call them sometimes.

Or even sometimes when I'm in front of them and we're having a conversation,

I'll help them see the world in a completely different way,

From a different level of consciousness.

And then the way they look at the world changes.

And then these revelations come in,

These insight moments.

It's like,

Oh my God,

It is possible.

Because there's all these books out there.

The Power of Now and all of this stuff.

Oh wow,

It's so interesting reading this book.

It's so interesting in theory.

Theory versus actually living it.

Talking it versus living it,

Right?

Whole different thing.

And it comes into your living it zone when you can practice these things and you have these revelation moments and you show yourself,

Oh my God,

Wow.

Yeah,

I'm seeing things differently now.

Creating those revelation moments for yourself.

And to go a bit deeper on this whole thing of consciousness,

Consciousness,

What it means to me,

If I was to really go into it,

It means going into the unknown.

The thing which is outside of your current knowledge,

Your mind,

You know,

Knowledge lives in the mind.

Intellect.

That's why we have all this overthinking because it's intellect driving the car.

It's what we know.

And people will say things like,

It's always been this way or this always happens to me.

Yeah,

I'm not trying to disrespect that.

There's been some challenging things that have happened in people's lives.

But what I want you guys to see is that that's all based on what you know.

It's based on your patterns,

All the things you know already.

What I'm saying when I talk about consciousness,

Raising your consciousness is expanding that.

So you're going into the outside world.

I like to think of it as,

Imagine the earth,

The earth that we're on.

You have to travel to the darkness outside of the earth.

The darkness,

The places that you don't know yet.

That which is not.

You're living in the that which is,

Right?

And that's what's keeping the challenges there.

You have to go to the that which is not.

The unknown.

Because that's where everything comes from.

If we really think about consciousness,

That is,

And even this term sometimes,

You know,

It's everywhere these days.

Higher consciousness.

So sometimes I don't even use that word.

But for the purpose of this,

All I really mean is,

Everything comes from nothing,

Right?

Even your thoughts,

They come from nothing.

And they disappear.

Everything and then disappear.

So the more you're going into nothing,

That's space.

The more you go into space,

The more free you become.

Because you're letting go of all these like beliefs and how I see the world in this way.

And even if you think of like physical space,

It's so nice having space,

Right?

I've been on busy trains here in London and there's sometimes not space and it's very uncomfortable.

And that's usually what it feels like when we're in our mind thought-mares,

Right?

It feels like there's no space.

Space feels nice and relaxing and I feel light because I'm in space.

And I'm sure if I was to actually go into space,

It would probably feel light as well.

There's not all of this like noise around you.

So go and find space.

Even in yoga,

That's what we're trying to do with yoga,

Right?

Is finding space.

When someone tells you in your yoga class,

If you go to one,

To do this awkward pose,

It's the attempt to find space.

And other things of course,

But that's a part of it.

So everything came from nothing.

Everything came from space.

There's no denying this.

I don't care how logical a person is.

And the reason why I say that is because I am pretty logical.

Even though I talk about all of these sometimes deep spiritual topics,

I'm very logical.

If we're speaking logical,

Look,

We're on this spinning planet and there's more space than there is planet,

Right?

Even on this planet,

Even in your room that you're in right now,

There's more space than there is you.

Look outside your window,

There's more space than there is houses.

So it makes sense that this is what we have to connect to.

So when you tap into this,

You connect back to nothingness that you came from.

Where did we come from?

Okay,

Yeah,

We were born from a parent.

But before that,

We were nothing,

Right?

Nothing.

And what's going to happen when we end this life?

Nothing.

We go back to nothing.

So there's always this knowing inside of us that we have a connection to nothing.

That's why holding all these thoughts,

Attaching to them doesn't feel very nice.

Because it's not natural.

It's like if I was going to try and.

.

.

You know when you eat foods and things like you have fruits,

For example,

Fresh fruit,

You eat it and you feel like you know that it is natural.

You just know it.

It just feels nice like there's all this juice coming out.

It's colorful.

It makes you feel good.

Natural.

Your thoughts don't feel like that because it's not natural.

But when you have that moment of peace,

When you go out in nature or when you're with your friend or whatever and you're like,

Oh,

I'm so like,

I feel so good.

You're in natural.

But when you hold on to beliefs,

You're not natural again.

So I really want that to land.

It might not be instant right now,

But I want it to land,

To change the way you see this.

Because most people think that we have moments,

Fleeting moments of peace where we have to go on a vacation to find peace.

Yeah,

Vacations are great.

I don't want people to stop having fun and do those things,

Of course,

Is great.

But we start thinking like this is something that is rare,

You know.

If you believe that is something that's rare,

That you can only get in through certain things,

Then of course your opposite to that means that normal life is stress and overthinking.

Stress and challenges and feeling like there's no space.

But if it really lands for you that it's natural to be in space and not natural to be stuck in mental challenges,

Inner challenges let's call it,

Then you'll work out a way to get there without your need to try.

And this is where this whole thing called intuition comes in.

A lot of people ask me about this and I might actually do a series on intuition because it was something new for me.

Like I said,

I was a very logical person.

Very logical.

I would be against anyone who would talk about this stuff that I'm saying right now.

I would be like,

Oh yeah,

This person has been doing too much hippie stuff or whatever,

Whatever you call it these days.

I'd be like,

Oh yeah,

This person is in the clouds or they've lost,

They don't know what they're talking about.

My logical mind would be like,

Yeah,

It's okay for him.

He's a meditation teacher.

Oh yeah,

It's okay for him.

He's a coach.

This is what he does.

I'd make up all these logical excuses.

Oh yeah,

But I've got this going on.

That's not true.

If you convince yourself it's true,

Of course it's true.

But you know,

Like I said before,

You know that when you go out in nature or you see a newborn child or something like that,

Right,

You just have this,

You're just like in awe of life.

That's a fact.

Maybe it's not those two examples,

But you have some way to step into that world.

And you know that world feels great.

That's probably a fact as well.

So most people are looking for that in some way or another.

It might be like we're looking for this higher consciousness,

This peace that I'm talking about in some way or another.

It might be through,

Hey,

I'm going to go and party.

I'm going to go and drink.

I'm going to go have these relationships.

I'm going to go and do this.

I'm going to go and do that.

I'm going to go have a spa retreat.

I'm going to go and do this.

Everyone's looking for this.

Everyone's looking for it in some way or another,

Through something.

And I realized that for myself.

I was like,

I'm looking for this.

So how about I cut the middle man out and just go straight to that.

Start practicing this thing,

The foundation,

Instead of going through all of these like,

These unsatisfying attempts to get to this place.

Yeah,

It feels great to get a massage.

I'm not saying don't get a massage.

But what about when you don't have the massage?

Yeah,

It feels great to eat some really great food.

I love great food as well.

But what about when you're not having that great food?

Then what?

So what I really want to encourage is to start just being the person that you want to be.

Instead of doing the thing to be the person.

Being that person.

And again,

I'm not saying it's easy.

It wasn't easy for me.

I had a whole lot of experimentation.

Exploring and trying to figure things out.

It wasn't things like this back then,

The Insight Timer.

I was just doing yoga,

Meditating,

Exercising,

Reading books,

Traveling,

Trying different jobs out.

I didn't know there was this thing called intuition.

Coming back to that now.

This thing called intuition,

I thought it was only for women.

If I was being honest.

There's this term like women's intuition.

And maybe men have their own word for this.

I don't know what that is.

But wisdom also comes up.

The words wisdom and intuition,

Pretty much the same thing for me.

Because I mean wisdom is your innate wisdom.

The wisdom that's there.

Not your wisdom based on your memories or your experiences.

Hate this happened so this is going to happen again.

No,

No.

We're not talking about that.

That's not intuition.

That's not wisdom.

That's mental beliefs.

That's approximations.

That's prediction.

Listening slash innate wisdom is just this knowing.

When you can really slow down and listen,

You realize there's this other voice inside of me.

That's what I had.

I was like what is this voice?

It's telling me to do this and that.

And I used to block that voice of hardcore.

It would be like an American football team attacking one person.

One little dude.

He's like trying to walk across the field and then this team would destroy him.

So that's what my mind used to do when I used to have these intuitive taps on the shoulder let's call it.

But that's your higher consciousness speaking to you.

Your awareness speaking to you in some way.

It's saying hey you think this is scary but I know you want to do it.

Come on let's do it.

Listen to me.

And mind will say no no no no no no.

Or it will be like hey I know this person is a good person.

I'm connecting with them really well.

But then the mind will say no no no what if this what if that what if that.

Remember what happened with that person.

Yeah I'm going to remind you of that.

Away from this person.

You see how tricky this can be.

But if you listen to this intuition.

This wisdom.

It's going to lead you to the places that you could never have got to with your mind.

Ever.

Thinking takes you from A to B but intuition takes you everywhere.

Thinking can take you from A to B because it uses knowledge from the past.

And often that is like fears and doubts and anxiety and this happened before so this is going to happen again.

Childhood things.

That's where thinking can take you.

Thinking and your emotions.

But intuition is beyond that.

It's a different place.

It's not a part of this.

Some people will call that spirit as well.

That's another word you could use.

But it's beyond words.

It's something that can't really be described.

That's the only words that seem to work.

So all I want to offer you today is to connect with slowing down.

You might be wondering how do I do this?

This sounds great.

How do I do this?

How do I connect to this thing?

And yeah I probably would have said the same thing in the past.

How?

Tell me how.

Slowing down.

Slow down.

Slow down so you can really hear.

That's why it's sometimes called silent wisdom.

Because it's hard to hear it.

Unless you listen carefully.

This is the key.

This is why I chose this as number one.

Because it's a door that can open the other doors that I'm going to speak about in the next sessions.

This is the number one key.

If you have your higher awareness and you're able to see yourself in a different way from a different place,

Then everything is possible.

But you have to slow down to get there.

And I guess this is what Insight Time is for.

Meditation apps.

Yoga is good for this.

Going for walks.

Whatever works for you.

Working with someone.

This is not nice to have anymore.

This is not just,

Oh yeah,

If I want to relax I should do this.

Not what it's for.

And if anyone asks me,

I always tell them I'm not here to help people relax.

No.

That's not what this is.

That's a side effect.

You will be calmer.

But it's to really help you to slow down and see what you're not seeing because you're racing too fast.

So it's essential for life I think.

All of these health challenges,

Well not all,

But let's say some of them,

They come from stress.

Come from stress.

You get so much more vitality and just it feels good doesn't it when you can slow down.

So I don't say anything more than that.

I just say slow down.

Listen.

Observing.

I have to catch myself out sometimes because I'm not an enlightened being or anything like that.

I don't know,

Maybe someone will say that about me but I don't think so.

I don't even know what that means to be honest.

I still have thoughts.

I still have thoughts that occur which don't feel very nice.

But I have to catch them and kind of smile.

That's the ability that I've been able to cultivate which is I can see it happening quickly and I can start to let it just slow down and let it just release itself.

Just like when you see clouds passing by and I know that might sound like oh yeah Raj,

How do you do that?

But you can.

It might stay for longer if it's an uncomfortable situation you're in.

But use your breath.

Use this breath that you have.

And we'll do that in a moment together.

Use your breath that you have,

Slow down and you'll see things differently.

So summary for today is like I even made a video on my YouTube channel about this.

I called it what the hell do you mean live consciously?

Because like I said before this whole personal development world there's these words that I use sometimes and it starts feeling like it's something that is not feasible.

Because it's like oh yeah higher consciousness only spiritual yogis can do that.

Or like you know all these terms.

Let's just keep it simple.

Slow down and observe what's going on for you.

You don't need to be an expert to do that.

It's just a practice.

You do need commitment.

You do need commitment.

You can't just listen to these things and expect everything to change.

Doesn't work like that.

That's information.

And that's what I tell people when I'm working with them.

There's information versus transformation.

Transformation is when you are,

It's really sinking in but then you practice it somehow.

Like if you're driving a car right?

Oh here's the theory.

Oh great.

Oh yeah I understand.

But you don't really understand until you've experienced it.

So I want you guys,

I want to invite you to practice this in the next seven days till the next session.

Who's in?

I want you to practice each day spending ten minutes being aware.

Slowing down every day.

I catch myself in the,

So well I meditate in the mornings and have a routine but then in the daytime I catch myself when I'm like feeling erratic and I will pause and I'll just take some moments to just be and I'll be recharged again.

It'll be like whoa brand new again.

It's as easy as that.

You're making this sometimes into a mental problem that you have to figure out.

You have to figure out with your mind.

No it's not needed.

Everything is good.

That's the key thing I want to get across to all of you.

Everything because you bounce back.

Innately we are well.

Well-being is something that is natural for us.

It's not something you need to go and create.

Well-being is natural.

It's not something that you don't have is what I'm trying to say.

When you get a cut your body heals that.

When you have a headache it will go away.

Things just your body is doing is best to keep you in well-being.

It's only thinking that will stop that process.

So practice letting go in the next week,

Every day,

Ten minutes.

Some practice to just be an observer and yeah like someone said I have a specific meditation for this.

Thanks for pointing that out.

It's called the observer on my page.

So yeah just do that one then.

You don't have to do mine.

I'm not attached to you guys going and saying oh yeah look at my page but there is one that I have made that you could use.

We can use another one.

So check it out if you like.

Once you can observe that's when intuition will get will become a part of you.

You'll start noticing intuition.

Because it's like look at your if you look at the floor right now you might not notice dust.

But if your awareness is heightened yeah then you will notice the dust.

So that's how you can tap into intuition once your awareness is heightened.

Once you can tap into intuition there's wisdom.

Massive things are possible.

Because like I said it's natural it's you connecting to something bigger than yourself bigger than your mind.

And yeah that's a great way to end this actually.

This whole thing about slowing down and tapping into that innate wisdom is connecting to something that's not mind.

Look I got a mind I got a body.

Those are unique to me.

But this thing intuition is not unique to me.

It's unique to everyone.

That's why you feel good vibes.

People say oh I got good vibes of this person.

You're getting good vibes because that's something connecting you to.

Your mind is not connecting you to another person.

You see it's another force in play.

And your intuition your wisdom is connecting you to nothingness like I said the sky nothingness something above us.

It's connecting you to that all the time.

So it's not yours.

It's just something that you can channel basically.

And I always tell everyone I never plan these sessions.

I don't even know what I'm going to say next.

Because I'm just running with flow.

I'm running with wisdom just coming through me.

It's not like I've claimed this to be mine.

This is just what I know to be true.

It's effortless.

I don't need to plan or think.

That's where you get to when you start tapping this intuition and this awareness.

Effortless everything flows like water.

That's why this is water.

Everything becomes water.

So that's where I'm going to leave today.

But I want to do a short practice and I want to leave some questions.

Leave some time for questions.

Sorry.

I've been speaking for a while.
