We breathe about 22,000 times a day but how many of those are you conscious of? Bringing our attention to the breath is such a simple concept yet challenging for many of us. Conscious deep belly breathing brings more oxygen to our cells, brain, and organs. This is why pranayama and meditation have this incredible power to soothe and revitalise a tired body, a wild mind, and a restless spirit. So today's practice is when we breathe better, we feel better.

7 billion human beings and countless creatures on earth are fueled and nourished by the same rhythm of the breath.

We breathe about 22,

000 times a day.

But how many of those are you conscious of?

Bringing our attention to the breath is such a simple concept,

Yet challenging for many of us.

A monkey mind loves to stray and time travel.

But just as our breath can alter depending on our mood,

Our psychological state can alter based on our breath.

Because the breath acts as a bridge to our nervous system.

And conscious deep belly breathing can bring in up to seven times more oxygen to ourselves,

Brain and organs.

This is why pranayama meditation have this incredible power to soothe and revitalize a tired body,

A wild mind and restless spirit.

So the message and intention of today's practice is when we breathe better,

We feel better.

So take this last moment to realign,

Lengthen or soften the parts of your body in your chosen asana today.

And then allow the eyelids to fall gracefully.

Begin to drop the weight of your being as we get ready to turn inward.

Draw your attention to the breath and begin to notice your inhalation.

Notice your exhalation.

Inhale and exhale.

Is it short?

Shallow?

Restless maybe?

It's okay if it is.

Begin to notice your inhalation and the state of your exhalation.

Now like a musician,

Mindfully fine tuning his guitar,

Let's mindfully and slowly begin to fine tune our breath by lengthening and deepening the inhalation and exhalation to a level that is smooth and easy to maintain.

Perhaps counting to four or six and back down again might help.

We're aiming for slow,

Deep pelvic ball breaths.

Breathing in.

Breathing out.

Breathing in.

Breathing out.

Inhale,

Acknowledge the air drawing in through the nostrils,

Traveling down the throat circulating deep in the belly and pelvic bowl.

Exhale,

Acknowledging the air leaving your belly,

Feeling a drop in the chest as the air travels back up and out through the nostrils.

Air draws in,

Belly expands,

Feel the stretch of your skin.

Air flows out and belly contracts,

Chest and mind surrenders.

In and out.

In and out.

Feeling this movement of breath along the nostrils as you draw the inhale in.

Feel it moving patiently back out.

With every round of breath,

Sense the body finding stillness.

Sense an increased awareness and connection to the breath as it draws in and moves back out.

Now be present in the space between the inhale and exhale.

Let it be empty and clear.

The perfect opportunity to welcome the inhale and exhale,

Completing a full cycle of breath.

Inhale and exhale.

Feel yourself dissolving,

Dissolving into the breath,

Feeling effortless.

Your breath settling into its own natural rhythm,

Nourishing your mind and body,

Unfolding into the spaces being created,

Designing a new mood,

A new energy that we can carry back into the world.

Observe the breath as many times as you can until you feel a shift,

A shift into a space where no tension or concerns exist.

Then,

Focus on your awareness,

Might music rock the spotted ride back to a certain place.
