Inhale deeply,

Exhale fully.

Now is the perfect time to relax.

Hello love and welcome to this week's meditation.

To begin,

Find a comfortable seated position,

Just let your eyes softly close.

Become present with your body,

Noticing how you feel without giving any labels,

Any judgments.

Simply noticing the sensations of your body,

The inner climate as it is right now.

You might tune into the physical sensation of your seat on the chair or the floor.

The feeling of your clothing on your body,

The soft sense of opening that occurs with every inhale and the gentle sense of grounding that occurs with every exhale.

Breathing to deepen the breath,

Breathing intentionally into the pit of the belly,

Feeling your whole torso expand.

And with every exhale allowing all the air to empty out from your lungs,

Feeling the belly button draw in,

Finding a soft pause at the bottom of the exhale.

Exhale expanding,

Breathing deeply into the belly.

Then exhale,

Release,

Let go,

Pause.

In and out.

Just like that,

Allowing your breath to be full and intentional and yet without any efforting or strain.

In this meditation we'll be addressing our expectations of others,

Especially those close to us and learning where we're denying ourselves the love,

Nourishment and understanding that we seek.

In doing so we have the opportunity to set others free and begin to source ourselves from within,

Becoming a bright beacon of the energy we desire.

Feeling triggered in interpersonal relationships often stems from perceiving an unmet need.

If someone has gone contrary to what you perceive as right or fair,

You don't feel seen,

Understood or loved,

Then that's okay.

It's okay to feel upset.

What's exciting about these moments is they present an opportunity for transcendence.

Imagine what it would feel like to be independent of what anyone else does or says.

Free to simply love them as they are,

Where they are,

Without judgment.

My personal practice for this is to take everyone else out of the equation,

Identify the unmet need and then source the energy I desire within myself.

The first step is awareness that a trigger has occurred and if you can step out of the situation when this happens,

Breathe and spend a few moments in silent introspection,

Getting to the root belief or expectation,

The core of why you're upset,

Asking questions like what's missing or what's wrong.

And then once you articulate the core of it,

Drop the story,

Let the other person go,

You might even thank them for bringing this unmet need within yourself to the surface.

But in the meantime,

Simply focus on yourself and the quality you desire more of.

For example,

If you're feeling misunderstood,

You would set some loving and intentional time aside to understand yourself,

Acknowledging your inherent goodness,

Rightness and uniqueness as a gift that doesn't need to be explained or agreed upon,

Something that simply is.

If you're feeling unloved,

You might spend some time simply soaking in the energy of your own love,

The love that flows directly from source to and through you in every single moment.

It's a truly unlimited supply.

I'm going to present a few statements here that identify common unmet needs within us and I just want you to pay attention if any of them resonate with you in particular.

Something of resonance feels like rightness,

Clarity,

Perhaps accompanied by a soft expansion in the body.

And after sharing these statements,

I'll be offering you five minutes of silence to practice giving yourself what you need by becoming a source of it.

Lover,

Love thyself.

Seer,

See thyself.

Healer,

Heal thyself.

Believer,

Believe in thyself.

Knower,

Know thyself.

Understander,

Understand thyself.

Blesser,

Bless thyself.

Choose what you most need in this moment and begin to activate it within yourself.

You might do this by simply repeating the statement a few times or the word,

Love,

Blessing,

Healing,

Whatever you're connected to and really tune into the presence of the energy you seek.

Feel it deep in your belly,

Deep in your core.

Radiating from your heart,

Expanding through every cell of your body,

Beaming from you.

Really give yourself the core essence of this energy and you might accompany it with words that you wish to hear,

Words that you wish others would give to you,

Would recognize in you,

Would offer you and offer them to yourself as a gift.

Speak the words you need to hear.

Inhale deeply.

Inhale fully.

Relax.

I'll give you five minutes here to be the source of what you need,

Receiving it from within.

You'll hear a soft chime when the five minutes have passed.

Almost there.

You You You You You You You You You Lovely Inhale Exhale with a big sigh Relax let go Surrender all tension all strain Relax your face your body Your mind And just notice how you feel now Remember that you have the power to be a source of what you need The source of all goodness flows to and through each and every one of us And we are never without what we desire All you need to do is open up to it and in the process that everyone else free You May even find that the more you recognize and generate the energy you need within yourself The more others recognize and effortlessly give it to you This is the beauty of this work Thank You so much for joining me here today I'm sending great love and appreciation your way From my heart to yours,

Namaste

Lucy is by far my favorite teacher on insight timer. Not only does she have significantly more (and diverse) meditations than the average teacher, but she has such a warm and calming presence. You can just tell that if you randomly met her on the street she’d be the nicest person. Please keep creating/publishing meditations 🙏
