Hello and welcome.
Today we're exploring the idea of using body and breath awareness to ground your energy and release any anxiousness you're experiencing as you come to a place of inner peace.
So take a moment to get settled in,
Sitting somewhere quiet where you feel safe and comfortable,
Finding length through your spine,
Letting your hands come to rest on your knees or in your lap in a way that feels easy and natural to you.
And begin to deepen your breath in and out.
See if you can make your exhales longer than your inhales.
This helps to activate the parasympathetic nervous system,
Reminding your body that all is well and it's safe to relax.
Filling your lungs to full capacity,
Taking a moment to pause,
Exhaling all the air completely,
Taking another moment to pause,
In and out,
Just like that.
Let your body be relaxed and heavy.
Take a moment to notice all the points of contact between your body and your chair or your bed.
Finding yourself deeply connected and rooted to the earth at each of these points.
Feeling grounded.
Beautiful.
Now feelings of anxiousness most often arise due to being caught in a fearful or lack based thought stream that relates to the past or the future.
And the more you allow your mind to travel down these streams without consciously interrupting them,
The more habitual anxious thinking and feeling becomes.
And that's okay.
The good news is,
Anxiousness is not your natural state and it can be easily released and transmuted as you find new strength and grounding in the ever present peace of the present moment.
Now I'll tell you a secret.
While the mind can travel to the past and the future,
The body can only live here and now.
And because of that,
The body is a direct gateway to the present moment.
Made of the earth itself,
The body is one of your most accessible points of contact to a steady,
Unified and peaceful energy.
It's your ever present companion and the home of your soul.
By returning your awareness to your body,
Its sensations,
Movements and processes,
You are accessing the brilliant and invigorating energy of the present moment where all your power to create and thrive exists.
Almost every mystical tradition believes that the awareness of the breath is the strongest and most direct path to take you into your body where you can experience a greater sense of being grounded and present.
And so today we'll be practicing using our breath and sensory awareness as a way to become more deeply rooted and embodied in the present moment where you can access the well of peace that is always here for you.
First take one nice deep cleansing breath in and let it out with a sigh,
Allowing your energy to center and relax.
Now release conscious control of your breath and simply begin to notice the cadence and rhythm of it as it moves in and out.
Letting the body welcome the new air in and release it effortlessly.
Feeling to become more attuned to all the bodily sensations that accompany this movement of life force in and out.
Feeling how your abdomen gently expands on the inhale,
Softly contracts on the exhale.
Feeling and releasing like a tide washing up on the shores of your being and then being released back to the ocean.
Be noticing how your energy moves and changes with the breath,
Lightening and expanding on every inhale,
Being soothed and grounded with every exhale.
Feeling the soft and gentle presence of your body as it simply sits and breathes.
Always here.
Alive,
Whole,
Purely being.
Breathe in.
Breathe out.
You are now rooted in the body.
Notice how you feel in your body and your mind after taking a few moments to engage your breath and body awareness.
Be a little calmer,
More relaxed.
As you open your eyes,
You may find that you can see your space in this moment a little more clearly.
Focus and awareness.
You can continue to experience this space and place of calm energy by taking your deep and conscious breath with you as you move throughout your day.
Continuing to draw your energy back to your body,
Back to the present moment.
Using it as a steadying mechanism to bring you into your now moment where a greater sense of peace and clarity is always waiting,
Ready to wrap its loving arms around you.
May you live and have your being in a sea of ever-present peace.
May your body be the steady base from which you thrive and adventure through life with a bright heart and a big smile.
With so much love,
From my heart to yours,
Namaste.
