Hello and welcome to this meditative moment.
Meditative moments are simple practices and offerings designed to be incorporated into your daily life.
In those little in-between moments and times where you're waiting or moving,
Use them in the spaces and places you desire a little more breath,
A little more intention and more ease in your day.
Today our meditative moment is a mantra.
When I choose peace for myself,
I choose peace for the world.
Acknowledging from the perspective of self,
There is no separation between me and my world and I choose peace.
This mantra is perfect for meditating in public,
In grocery lines,
On buses,
Waiting rooms,
Park benches,
Really any moment that could benefit by a spacious breath and a reconnection to your inner heart where peace always abides.
In doing so,
You're choosing to not just see these moments as in-betweens or idle inconveniences,
But as opportunities to be the energy that you not only want to experience,
But see in the world.
Doing this takes courage,
It's counterculture to be relaxed,
To move mindfully,
Slowly,
And to pause,
Perhaps closing your eyes and taking that miraculous deep breath.
And yet,
There's nothing more called for by the collective.
There is a deep desire for those who can embody and offer peace.
And so when you find yourself in an in-between moment of movement or waiting,
Be willing to take that vulnerable moment to simply be peace,
To rest in peace as an act of deep love to self and others.
Let's practice here.
All meditative moments begin with the breath and perhaps even closing your eyes if that's available to you.
It'll just make it easier to focus upon the words and really feel them.
Just breathing deeply into the base of your belly,
Pausing at the top and then letting it go with a big sigh or a long,
Slow exhale through your nose,
Pausing softly at the bottom.
In and out.
In and out.
Taking as many deep breaths as you need to feel grounded and centered in presence,
Awareness,
And then pausing,
Being still.
Or if you're in the midst of movement,
Simply feeling the stillness of the inner body,
Being completely present to yourself,
Letting everything else fade away into the background and repeating.
When I choose peace for myself,
I choose peace for the world.
When I choose peace for myself,
I choose peace for the world.
Speaking it slowly,
Connecting to the essence and center of peace with each repetition,
Perhaps linking it to the breath,
Speaking the first part on the inhale and the second part on your exhale.
When I choose peace for myself,
I choose peace for the world.
Becoming a center of peace from the inside out.
Feeling yourself merging more deeply with peace with every breath and repetition.
When I choose peace for myself,
I choose peace for the world.
As you do this,
You become a center of peace where you are,
Not only for yourself but as a beacon for others.
That anyone who looks upon you would feel their heart calm,
Their breath slow and their brow soften.
I choose peace for myself.
I choose peace for the world.
Be willing to be the one who pauses,
The one who closes their eyes,
Who stills,
Breathes and becomes a center of peace in the midst of busyness.
Let your peaceful energy be your offering.
Let your gentle cadence be your care.
Allow yourself to become the healing you seek.
There is no true separation between you and I.
What you choose for yourself,
You choose for me and all beings.
Thank you for honoring us with your peaceful presence here.
The light in me sees,
Recognizes,
Loves and celebrates the light in you.
From my peaceful heart to yours,
Namaste.
