Inhale.

Make sure you are safe to relax.
In our guided journaling exercise today,
We'll be re-establishing loving communication and connection with the body.
The body lives wholly in the now.
It has a living wisdom that is perfectly responsive to you and your needs as they arise moment to moment.
Your body knows exactly what it needs to thrive,
And it's talking to you all day long,
Constantly giving you feedback through the felt sensations you experience.
The more you ask your body what it needs and listen,
The more attuned you'll be to your body's unique voice and the easier it'll be to trust and follow its wisdom with ease.
At some point,
You won't even have to ask.
You'll be a unified whole,
Simply moving and acting in accordance with the flow of perfect well-being.
If you haven't already,
Grab your journal or a piece of paper and a pen and just set it near you.
We're going to begin this exercise by taking a few moments to just slow down,
Breathe,
And connect with the body.
So come to a comfortable position,
Either seated or laying down,
Whatever feels best to you right now.
Make any movements or adjustments you need so that you can come to a place of stillness.
Close your eyes.
Take a soothing breath in through your nose,
Filling up from the base of your belly to the top of your rib cage.
And exhale with an open mouth sigh,
Letting go.
Again,
Breathing deeply in through the nose,
Into the pit of the belly,
Expanding through the side body and the back.
And exhale with a sigh,
Finding ease.
Once more in through your nose,
Taking in as much oxygen as you can,
Pausing at the top,
Letting it saturate your bloodstream,
And exhaling with a sigh,
Ah,
Relax.
Let your breathing return to normal.
Relax your face,
Your jaw,
Cheeks,
Eyes,
Forehead,
Scalp.
Relax your shoulders.
Relax your arms.
Let your arms be heavy.
Relax through your chest and back.
Relax your belly.
Relax your pelvis.
Be heavy through your sit bones.
Relax your legs.
Let them be heavy.
Relax your feet.
Let your whole body relax.
And from this place of relaxation,
Go inward.
Invite your awareness to fill your body,
Becoming vibrantly aware of your body.
Notice the gentle rise and fall of your chest,
The soft rhythm of your heart beating.
Feel the body's presence,
Its aliveness.
Notice acknowledging that at one point,
It was simply a collection of cells,
And now you exist as a highly sophisticated and intelligent system.
This beautiful temple housing your divine and holy light.
Place both hands over your heart.
Honor this magnificent creation,
One who has been with you since day one,
Supporting you,
Nourishing you,
Loving you as an act of worship,
Selflessly giving all that it has to ensure your survival,
Allowing you the pleasure of the sensory experience on Earth.
And as an act of thanksgiving for your body,
Offering it to the Hawaiian Ho'oponopono prayer,
I'm sorry.
Please forgive me.
Thank you.
I love you.
Let your body know you want to enter a deeper and more loving relationship with it.
Now with a big breath in and an even bigger sigh out,
Softly bring the sensation of a smile to your face.
And when you're ready,
Open up your eyes and gather your writing materials.
For this exercise,
I'll offer you three questions and about two to three minutes to answer each one.
Know that you're more than welcome to press pause if you need more time to write.
I invite you to adopt an attitude of openness and curiosity,
Speaking to your body as if it's a child or a loved one with its own desires and needs.
Surrender the outcome,
Trusting the perfect answers will arrive at the perfect timing.
If not in this journal practice,
They will come in your daily life.
It may even be helpful to write with your left hand as a way to activate your right brain and open the dialogue.
