Hello my name is Jacqueline and welcome to my Tranquil Spirits podcast.

Today we're all being affected in one way or another with the coronavirus and I would just like to talk a little bit about what we can do to make things a little better in our lives.

So what can we do when we are anxious,

Worried and just think the world has gone crazy?

We can start by making our own best judgments for ourselves and choose what we focus on.

People are not out to get you,

The government and doctors etc.

Are trying their best to help the world.

It may seem as if everyone is against you at the moment but this is about everybody being safe and being able to live a great life in the future.

So instead of being angry at schools,

Restaurants,

Libraries and other public places for closing down and spoiling your fun,

Look towards the future.

Realise that just one person can infect many many people and that one person could have been sitting next to you in that restaurant you miss so much.

This is not forever,

It's just for a short time out of our whole life.

Whatever you focus on and talk about creates your emotions.

If you are angry or upset about the state of the world at the moment and you keep thinking and talking about it,

Your anger and upset will grow.

We all have choices and that includes what we think about and talk about.

So instead of focusing on things that don't make you feel good,

Change your focus.

Make the best of this situation not the worst.

When it's over be able to look back at it as a productive happy time.

Take this time to help others less fortunate than yourself.

You can always leave things on the doorstep to avoid contact and look after yourself,

Especially your mind by meditating,

Journaling,

Writing down your thoughts really does help.

Bait that cake you keep promising your family.

Do some exercise and stretching as this is a great stress reliever.

Walking for 10 minutes a day is also wonderful.

Start a new hobby.

You know YouTube is a great place to look for instructions for different things.

Write that book you've been thinking about.

There's so many things that you can be doing.

Don't forget to contact family and friends by FaceTime or just telephone calling them,

Whatever it is.

And if you're used to meeting someone for coffee once a week then why don't you use the video chat and each have a coffee in your hand as you sit and talk to each other.

There are so many positive ways you can feel your time but it's always your choice what you think and do.

Life is upside down at the moment but we are luckier than many others in the world.

When you feel yourself becoming anxious,

Angry or worried why don't you try doing this simple exercise.

Think of four things that you are thankful for.

Think of four people you love.

Think of four places you would like to visit in the future and think of something you can do right now which will make you feel warm and happy inside.

By just changing your focus you can change your mood.

Just for today give it a try and if you like the more positive you give it a try tomorrow.

This is your life.

Following the guidelines is for everyone's safety.

Be in control of your thoughts and emotions and stop blaming others.

Take each day one at a time and find things to enjoy.

Stay safe,

Stay happy and enjoy the things you can do right now,

Right where you are.

Whatever you are doing today keep that smile in your face and stay positive.

Keep a positive attitude.

This is not forever and tomorrow is another day.

Thanks for listening.

I'll catch you all again soon.

Bye for now.

Thank you a bunch. Hope you don’t mind my saying it, but your lovely English accent lends to the quality of positivity. Comfort. What you Britain’s went through under Hitler’s shelling and all! Your courage as a nation of people! I just saw the movie The Darkest Hour last night, ah Churchill! We all need a leader like Churchill in the world. We all must be Lights for each other! Namaste.

Thank you. You really lifted my mood. I'm in the middle of a squabble with my boyfriend. We are in separate rooms right now......(he came in and we talked just now). Anyhow, I feel like your talk helped me to be more clear about what I needed and want. Also having more down time is helping me to be more introspective. We put a couple ideas in place to help our communication abilities to grow. Thank you:)
