Hello,
I'm so glad that you're here.
Today we're going to talk about gratitude.
Gratitude is the ability to appreciate everything you have.
We know life isn't perfect,
And we have trials and times when life isn't going the way we think it should.
We don't deny that there are things happening.
Acknowledge what is happening,
And then try to find the positive in every situation.
You woke up today,
And that is something to feel thankful for.
No matter what is going on in your life,
You will find the good if you look for it.
People who are thankful and express gratitude are healthier,
And they heal faster than those who don't.
They tend to be more active,
Exercise more,
And live longer lives.
Let's begin our meditation.
Find a comfortable position,
And when you're ready,
Close your eyes.
Put your attention on your breath and focus on your inhale.
Feel where the air enters your nose.
Be aware of your breath,
But keep your breathing natural and not forced.
Feel yourself relaxing.
Feel where your breath is entering your body.
Today I want you to think about one thing that you are thankful for.
I'd like you to meditate on it and find the joy that it brings you.
Focus on how you are feeling.
Just bring a slight smile to your lips and pleasant feelings.
Put these feelings inside of your heart and carry them with you throughout the day.
If gratitude is something new to you,
Make it a priority to find three things every day that you are thankful for.
When this becomes easy to you,
You can increase it to five things that you're thankful for.
You can create a gratitude journal and write down what you're thankful for.
And on days that you can't find anything to be thankful for,
You can look back at your journal and remember what you have.
Let's take our focus back to the breath.
And I'd like you to take a deep inhale through your nose and release it through your mouth slowly.
And let's do it one more time.
Deeply through your nose,
Release it through your mouth.
Now this time we're going to,
One more time,
Inhale deeply and we're going to hold it for eight seconds and then we're going to release it through our nose slowly.
Now let's return our breathing to normal.
Deep breathing not only relaxes the body,
But it also detoxes your lungs.
And it can energize you.
We're going to bring our breathing back to normal.
In through the nose,
Out through the nose.
And we're going to release it through our nose.
Let's bring your awareness back to the room.
Wiggle your fingers and your toes.
When you're ready,
You can open your eyes.
