Welcome to this love and kindness meditation for the self.
Love and kindness is a beautiful practice which help develop feelings of love and kindness towards the self and others.
Find a comfortable position sitting with a straight yet relaxed back and allowing your arms to gently rest by your sides or you can cup your hands on your knees and gently close your eyes.
Allow your mind to relax and settle into this moment by fully committing and coming into this present moment.
Now bring your attention to your breath,
The soothing breath,
Your anger and as you breathe in be aware of breathing in and as you breathe out be aware of breathing out.
Don't force or try to change the breath just allow the breath to flow easily and freely through you.
Shifting your attention from your breath to yourself bring your attention to your heart breathing into the area of your heart as you visualize a green light filling this area and growing.
While you continue to breathe into the heart center and visualize that beautiful green light filling your heart see if you can generate feelings of warmth and friendliness towards yourself.
If this is difficult feel free to place your hands on your heart to fill your body with love and kindness and allow yourself to be filled with feelings of love kindness acceptance and compassion.
Continue to breathe into the heart center as the beautiful green light becomes stronger and warm feelings of love and kindness fill your heart and body.
So fill yourself with love and kindness as you repeat the following affirmations.
I am worthy of love.
I love myself unconditionally.
I am kind to myself and others.
I am open to give and receive love.
I am safe.
I am at peace.
I accept myself and I love myself.
I am happy.
Savor each word and fill your heart with continuous love and compassion and kindness towards yourself as we once again repeat these affirmations.
I am worthy of love.
I love myself unconditionally.
I am kind to myself and others.
I'm open to give and receive love.
I am safe.
I am safe.
I am at peace.
I love and accept myself.
I am happy.
So continue to breathe and fill yourself with love and kindness and if at any point you become distracted it's okay just come back to the breath to your anchor and continue to envision that beautiful green light filling your heart.
Now let's take those feelings of love and kindness and extend it to our loved ones and community.
Wishing feelings of love and kindness and compassion towards others.
If you can't envision a person which you wish to send you to the next level,
Imagine a person which you wish to send feelings of love kindness and compassion and hold that person in your heart center and send them these warm beautiful feelings of love and kindness.
And if you find this to be difficult it's okay just continue to send messages and feelings of love and kindness to yourself to your heart and continue to fill yourself with that beautiful green light.
Notice how it feels to open your heart and share feelings of love and kindness with yourself and others.
Breathe this beautiful feeling in.
Like Mother Teresa once said,
Kind words can be short and easy to speak but their echoes are truly endless.
And as the practice comes to an end wiggle your fingers and toes coming back into your body and into this room and when you're ready open your eyes and may you continue to experience these beautiful feelings of love and kindness to yourself and others throughout your day.
And remembering that the most important part in the healing process is to be kind and compassionate with ourselves.
