Get comfortable in a space that you feel is right for your meditation.
Relax and close your eyes.
Focus on your breathing,
Consciously inhaling and exhaling to the count of four for three full breaths.
Concentrate on the air going in and out.
Taking a moment of gratitude for your breath.
Now let your breathing return to a normal pattern as you relax further.
Think about the people you love and care for and also the people who love and care about you.
Within that feeling and feel safe in the warmth of that love and truth that is with you wherever you go every second of the day.
Take a moment to rest in that peace and calm.
Let it hold you in this moment.
Now as you're resting in that peace and calm,
Join me now as you visualize your happy place.
It can be anywhere,
Anywhere you are truly happy,
Filled with joy and truly at peace.
It could be by the ocean with your toes in the sand,
The sea breeze in your hair and the waves crashing in.
It could be deep in a rainforest surrounded by trees,
Birds calling and the energy of mother nature nurturing you as you wander its pathways.
It could be spending time with someone you love,
Sharing your passions,
Laughing together and filling each other's cup.
Wherever it is,
Take your mind there now and immerse yourself in the sights and sounds,
The smells and how that makes you feel.
The truth is you can go to your happy place at any time,
No matter where you are and no matter what time of day it is.
It is always with you and is just yet another path to your inner peace.
Breathe in that feeling you're experiencing in your happy place.
Just savor it.
It's all yours.
While we're in this space enjoying our happy place,
It can be easy for us to bring to mind what brings us joy and when we savor in our senses,
It can be the little things that spark joy.
Take a moment now to create your own mental list of what brings you joy like that first sip of coffee in the morning,
Watching a beautiful sunset,
The smell of rain as it first hits dry earth,
The endorphins that run through your body after exercise.
Give yourself a moment now to explore those little slices of joy for you and hold them in your memory.
The key to making the most of this joy is taking the time to enjoy it rather than rushing back into your day.
This gives your brain a chance to rewire itself for more happiness and resilience.
Again you can do this many times a day to build up your joy.
Life is too short not to take those extra moments for what brings you joy.
Now while we're in our joy state,
You might find it easy to find the things you're grateful for and just like the list of things that bring you joy,
These can be simple little things too.
We could be grateful for waking each day,
Having a roof over our heads,
Food to eat,
A job to sustain and fulfill us,
Relationships that nurture us,
The sun shining,
The love from our pets and so much more.
It's in times of challenge where we may struggle to do this the most.
For example,
When you're delayed in traffic it can be easy to get annoyed and frustrated but if you can consciously stop to listen to your thoughts you could replace them with grateful alternatives like I'm grateful for being able to drive,
I'm grateful for being safe and accident free,
I'm grateful that I have transport of my own I can rely on.
If you can do this your frustration melts away and you'll find that traffic will be a thing of the past.
Enjoy finding your inner peace.
Namaste.
