Hi,
I'm Teresa Hubbard.
I am so excited to share with you my reading of the text of A Course in Miracles.
A Course in Miracles has been transformational in my life.
In a nutshell,
My biggest takeaway is that the power of the universe,
What I call God,
Progresses through and as each of us as we allow it.
The Course then is our guidebook on how to begin and continue the process of allowing.
It's simple if we allow ourselves to be,
As the Bible says,
Like little children knowing that we don't know.
How powerful it is that as we open our hearts and minds to receive,
Wisdom and truth that is beyond our human understanding is given us.
A Course in Miracles is a teaching of love,
Forgiveness and wholeness,
Leading us from this earthly world of suffering and chaos to the real world of inner peace and joy.
It takes us by the hand,
Leading us back to our truth,
Helping us remember who we are,
Infinite beings created in the likeness of our Creator.
So what to expect?
I will be reading to you one section at a time from the text of A Course in Miracles.
I will start off each reading by offering my own thoughts and insights regarding the particular section I'm reading.
These are simply my takeaways,
So I hope you will share your own thoughts and insights in the comments section as we go along so that we can learn from each other together.
I will then offer some definitions of the terms used within the particular section I'm reading.
The reason for this is that the Course uses traditional Christian terms in a very non-traditional manner.
In putting these definitions together,
I used a reference called Glossary Index for A Course in Miracles,
8th edition by Kenneth Wapnick,
Ph.
D.
This can be purchased from a foundation for A Course in Miracles,
Www.
Facim.
Org,
Or other online bookstores.
Another important thing to note is that the Course uses male pronouns to describe God and the children of God,
Which is you and me,
With the understanding that these pronouns simply point to spiritual beings having no gender.
Also,
The Course is written in first person,
And although the author is not introduced directly to the reader,
It quickly becomes clear that the words are spoken by Jesus,
Who often quotes directly from the New Testament of the Bible.
Jesus speaks to us through the Course as our equal,
Our brother,
Calling us home to our true natures as expressions of God.
On a personal note,
I am grateful to have been made aware of the language used within the Course before embarking upon it.
Otherwise,
I may have closed myself off to its teaching,
Limiting my understanding because of the words used within it.
For example,
Even the word God can be limiting since universal energy and life are infinitely vast and cannot be contained in a word.
So please keep in mind that the words used in the Course are simply pointers to the truth,
Nothing more.
Unlike more traditional teachings,
The Course reminds us there are many paths leading to truth,
And this teaching is one such path.
Many paths,
One truth.
So now,
Onto the reading.
A Course in Miracles.
Introduction.
This is a Course in Miracles.
It is a required Course.
Only the time you take it is voluntary.
Free will does not mean that you can establish the curriculum.
It means only that you can elect what you want to take at a given time.
The Course does not aim at teaching the meaning of love,
For that is beyond what can be taught.
It does aim,
However,
At removing the blocks to the awareness of love's presence,
Which is your natural inheritance.
The opposite of love is fear,
But what is all-encompassing can have no opposite.
This Course can therefore be summed up very simply in this way.
Nothing real can be threatened.
Nothing unreal exists.
Herein lies the peace of God.
