Hi,

I'm Teresa Hubbard.

Welcome back to our continued reading of the text to A Course in Miracles.

We continue today in Chapter 2,

The Separation and the Atonement,

Section 5,

Subpart A,

Special Principles of Miracle Workers.

To summarize my takeaways,

In Section 5,

Subpart A of Chapter 2,

We are offered further guidance for performing miracles.

Miracles are essentially the offering of forgiveness and healing to ourselves and others.

But we are told that without the proper perception,

Forgiveness will be an empty gesture,

Essentially judgmental rather than healing.

Very important concepts we have already learned about performing miracles are,

Firstly,

Our thoughts must be purified so that our perceptions are open to the awareness of miracles.

Secondly,

Accepting the atonement for ourselves means our minds can only heal.

And thirdly,

What we offer to others is also offered to ourselves.

The really great part here is all of this is done for us as we ask and then trust the inner guide within us.

I invite you to keep a few things in mind as you listen to the reading.

The Course uses male pronouns,

Yet this is simply a way of pointing to the spiritual being,

Having no gender.

The Course is written in first person,

And although not introduced directly to the reader,

It becomes clear that the words are from Jesus,

Often quoting from the Bible.

The Course uses traditional Christian terms in a non-traditional manner.

These words are simply pointers to truth,

Nothing more.

A few definitions of terms you will hear within this reading.

Miracle,

The change in mind that shifts our perception,

Transcending the laws of this world to reflect the laws of God.

The miracle provides the means to heal our own minds and the minds of others.

Atonement,

The Holy Spirit's plan of correction,

Healing our minds from the earthly world of illusion to God's world of truth.

Holy Spirit,

The communication link between God and us,

Bridging the gap between the mind of Christ and our human minds.

Christ,

The self that God created by extension of the Spirit.

It represents the potential within each of us.

Perception,

What we see inwardly determines what we see outside ourselves.

Projection,

A law of mind.

Whatever our perception is,

We project onto the world around us.

And now,

Onto the reading.

A Course in Miracles Chapter 2,

The Separation and the Atonement.

Section 5,

Subpart A.

Special Principles of Miracle Workers.

The miracle abolishes the need for lower order concerns.

Since it is an out of pattern time interval,

The ordinary considerations of time and space do not apply.

When you perform a miracle,

I will arrange both time and space to adjust to it.

A clear distinction between what is created and what is made is essential.

All forms of healing rest on this fundamental correction in level perception.

Never confuse right and wrong mindedness.

Responding to any form of error with anything except a desire to heal is an expression of this confusion.

The miracle is always a denial of this error and an affirmation of the truth.

Only right mindedness can correct in a way that has any real effect.

Pragmatically,

What has no real effect has no real existence.

Its effect then is emptiness.

Being without substantial content,

It lends itself to projection.

The level adjustment power of the miracle induces the right perception for healing.

Until this has occurred,

Healing cannot be understood.

Forgiveness is an empty gesture unless it entails correction.

Without this,

It is essentially judgmental rather than healing.

Miracle mindedness,

Miracle minded forgiveness is only correction.

It has no element of judgment at all.

The statement,

Father forgive them for they know not what they do,

In no way evaluates what they do.

It is an appeal to God to heal their minds.

There is no reference to the outcome of the error.

That does not matter.

The injunction,

Be of one mind,

Is the statement for revelation readiness.

My request,

Quote,

Do this in remembrance of me,

End quote,

Is the appeal for cooperation from miracle workers.

The two statements are not in the same order of reality.

Only the latter involves an awareness of time,

Since to remember is to recall the past in the present.

Time is under my direction,

But timelessness belongs to God.

In time,

We exist for and with each other.

In timelessness,

We coexist with God.

You can do much on behalf of your own healing and that of others,

If in a situation calling for help,

You think of it this way.

I am here only to be truly helpful.

I am here to represent Him who sent me.

I do not have to worry about what to say or what to do,

Because He who sent me will direct me.

I am content to be wherever He wishes,

Knowing He goes there with me.

I will be healed as I let Him teach me to heal.
