Why Things Are As They Are & What We Can Do

You know,

If we're feeling a little troubled,

It might help to understand the Western perspective a little more deeply.

To understand,

You know,

What glasses we're looking through.

So you know,

The Industrial Revolution started in England in 1750.

So that's,

You know,

Nearly 300 years ago.

But that's all.

Before that,

It was,

You know,

Growing food or hunting.

Very simple living close to the ground.

So it's like we're in a bubble.

And we think the bubble we're in is like sort of permanent reality,

But it's very different from just 300 years ago.

Now,

Added to that,

We've got this accelerative technology going on.

So you know,

Our old connection to the Earth into,

You know,

Just the life rhythms of the way human beings have lived for thousands and thousands of years has just changed dramatically.

So no wonder we're having a bit of trouble.

Now added to this,

You know,

If you think of the witch burnings that were going on,

You know,

In the,

I don't know,

1500s,

1600s.

And the people who were burned were often women who were just expressing the female polarity of the human of humanity.

They were,

You know,

Healing touch,

You know,

Growing herbs,

Making tinctures.

You know,

Some expanded psychic abilities,

Which is just,

You know,

An enhanced understanding.

They were burned.

And now in this culture,

We've got 300 year old mechanistic culture we've got.

You don't even have to do witch burnings because it's almost like if you,

You know,

Talk about healing or psychic abilities,

Or God or miracles that it's,

You know,

Kind of considered a bit flaky.

So,

We don't even have to do witch burnings to inhibit these aspects of the human experience.

I think it's really important that we see this,

You know,

How it's maybe a little distorted.

And the irony is that,

You know,

There's no separation between science and spirituality and religion.

There's none.

The higher levels of thought,

They unite,

Higher levels of mathematics,

Too.

There's no argument.

It just is on the physical,

Cultural level we're living.

It seems there's this emphasis on concrete reality,

Such an emphasis on concrete reality.

And we're calling that science,

But it isn't.

You know,

Science is way bigger than that.

And you know,

There is no argument between sciences and spirituality and religion.

But we act as if there is.

And you know,

It seems that we're losing permission to be enhanced human beings,

To be expanded human beings,

To be more than just workers or,

You know,

Slaves to providing for ourselves.

We're losing permission to be whole human beings.

And this alarms me.

It's why I call myself shaman,

Is to stand here and go like,

Okay,

Let's really develop our full human capacities,

Because they're huge.

You know,

And I,

My experience is we're divine beings in human form.

There's no ceiling on how developed we can become and how love powerful we can become.

I feel this is really hard on humanity to limit ourselves to this kind of three-dimensional concrete reality viewpoint and say that only what we can see and touch is real because,

You know,

Really,

I don't know how somebody says that with a straight face,

You know.

I mean,

Certainly any mom,

You know,

It's like.

We get,

You know,

Information about our children that just comes over the ether.

It's beyond,

You know,

The time and space.

And it's like how it isn't just a three-dimensional concrete reality going on here.

So I think in a way,

You know,

Women,

We need to resist any kind of pressure to become less than we are.

To shrink our hearts and become less.

I think we have to kind of just insist on being more.

Yeah.

Just take the space,

Just insist on,

You know,

Loving deeply,

Receiving the information you're receiving.

Being as nurturing and as loving as you like.

And I feel the men will follow us.

I think the men always follow the women actually.

This is a joke,

You know,

Because I think women,

Because of the witch printings and everything get very timid.

And scared.

But at this time,

You know,

It might be scarier if we don't begin to come from the heart more.

This,

You know,

Period of the last 300 years,

The result of this industrial and technological development is that we have really developed our intellects and we've turned our backs on the knowledge of the heart.

And this has to be corrected,

I feel,

Because we won't go anywhere good if we keep going.

It's in its why Mother Nature's screaming.

So I'm just,

You know,

Putting this to words because it's taken me decades to be able to just speak it so simply.

Whereas underneath,

I would feel that there was something wrong and I just didn't have the words for it.

But as I proceeded and faced fear and became better friends with myself,

Then the simple truth of what's happened,

How lopsided we're getting just becomes very obvious.

So you know,

Once we see it,

We could correct.

And we could steer toward,

You know,

Developing the heart more,

Standing for our heart's knowledge.

We will,

We'll have to.

I have to say you put words to my reality. A lot came up for me during this talk. Parenting styles differ in every household I’m sure. So I can’t be on my own when I say that men and women do not parent the same. I had to say early on that we are parenting our own way and that’s just how it has to be for our sanity. The kids learn from both of us. One or both of us is bound to make enough sense that the kid goes in the direction they most resonate with.
I’ve been listening to conscious parenting talks and it’s helped me open my eyes to allowing more freedom of expression. Now I’m being seen as a liberal lol It’s so funny how labels shape our world. I’m happy my changes are being observed. But it’s not being received with positive reviews. So I guess I’m doing something right. Everyone in my life needs to loosen up. And I’ve been wound up for so long that I think now that I’m loosening up everyone else needs time to catch up. If that makes any sense.
