You know,

Hanging out with spiritual masters,

I got really used to hearing things I didn't understand at first.

And the reason I wouldn't understand is it would not,

What they said would not make sense to my linear mind,

My Western educated linear mind.

You know,

It's the same principles of in the East,

They would use Kons,

K-O-A-N-S,

Which are kind of unanswerable questions.

And the teacher would give the student a colon,

Such as,

You know,

What is the sound of one hand clapping?

Well again,

It doesn't make sense to the linear mind,

But the student would sit on it and sit on it and stew about it and stew about it,

Till finally an answer would come up from the soul,

Some kind of answer.

You know,

Then the student would tell the teacher and the teacher would determine whether the answer was authentic or not,

Whether it really came from the person's soul or whether it came from the ego.

And you know,

There are many answers to a question like that and in the East they'd say,

You know,

The answer had to do with the person's,

You know,

Psychology,

Their past and also the flavor of their past lives.

So you know,

There's no right or wrong,

There's just whether the answer is in the true energy or not.

You know,

Likewise,

I remember building a path at the beach when I was studying with Abraham and I put,

I decorated it with rocks on the side.

Now I didn't know that you weren't allowed to do that,

You weren't supposed to do that.

For some reason it was just one of those rules,

You can't use,

You can't border paths with rocks,

Maybe because somebody's going to step their foot.

But Abraham okayed it in this case,

He came by and he okayed it because I'd done it in truth.

There was no true energy flowing out and he could feel it.

It came from a really deep spot,

Deep place in my heart that I was moved to put the stones.

So even though it seemed to break the rules,

It was allowed.

So that is a lot of what the enlightenment training is.

It seems to break the rules,

But there's a deeper truth involved and that deeper truth is more valuable than the more superficial breaking the rules.

Yeah so this is,

You know our linear minds are really taught bad or good,

But you know the loving truth behind our existence is beyond bad or good and sometimes you know people do what seem like bad things and then they turn around and become really extraordinary people as a result of having had that negative experience.

And you know you can have people who look,

Who are respected in the community and seem like they're doing really good things and then you know the hidden truth comes out that they weren't so,

You know,

They weren't angel food cakes after all.

They were more like devil food cakes.

So you know listening to these teachers and saying things all the time that I couldn't understand and I'd keep thinking about it,

Stewing about it,

Praying,

Just doing,

Living as light a life as I could and over time my understanding gradually developed and then what they said,

Then you know what they said that it so confused me just became like two plus two equals four,

Just simple.

And so this is now with me and my work with people.

I say things that just seem to be like you know self-evident and somebody will sort of frown and go oh I don't understand that and then it reminds me about me what I was like.

So it's just such a,

We're all just like children growing.

I mean this is what happens to children.

The parent says something,

The child doesn't quite understand it but as they grow they do.

Yeah.

And sometimes the concept's so big we can't get our minds around it.

You know the concept of karma that what we do comes back to us because everything is one so really what we do to anybody else we are doing to ourselves.

It's just like Christ said,

You know whatever you do to the least of me you do to me.

It's the same principle.

So that's where karma is.

Karma comes back.

But you know it might be a few years later,

You know 20 years later.

I had a funny experience in India.

I was,

I don't know maybe I've said it in one of my videos but it was in this city and it was a religious city and I think I have told it before but I'll tell it again.

There were lots of sadhus,

You know the guys with the orange robes and there were some that were just not real.

And you know I was a Western woman,

Long blonde hair and I got a lot of attention and finally I got like sort of fed up and I got very abrupt in that Western way that we have.

You know a priest in a orange robes approached me for some reason and I just brushed them off quite abruptly and I heard somebody else say madam don't do that.

And I registered that maybe I made a mistake,

You know that maybe I didn't get as far as thinking that maybe he was a real authentic seeker.

But I registered that maybe I made a mistake.

Anyway I crossed this bridge.

On the other side of this bridge there's this cow,

There are lots of cows in India all over the place,

Sometimes in the middle of the road,

You know.

Anyway this cow sort of meandered over to me and gave me a hard push on the shoulder like with its head like whacked me.

And I instantly registered it was like it's karma because you know it was a Hindu spiritual seeker and you know they the cows are the sacred cows and the karma got translated through this cow which had just been sort of just having a very quiet peaceful time and except boy when it came over to me it really whacked me.

So there you go,

Anyway the lighter touch of an enlightenment talk.

Okay bless your hearts.
