What Is In My Highest Good?
In the West, we are taught to compartmentalise. So even though we might consider ourselves spiritual, maybe not all of our actions are so pretty. The process of embodying our true Amma Nature causes us to act in ethical ways because we can no longer do anything else. Premasudha acknowledges that if a cashier gives her even a little bit extra change, she is physically unable to walk away with it. (The tension and emotional dissonance such an action would cause just isn't worth the money!) The problem is that many of us feel we cannot be honest and pure-hearted and survive on the earth plane. But the example of spiritual giants like Amma and the true sages who have walked the world is that we can. A good question to ask if you are uncertain of what action to take is: What is in my highest good? That question opens the door to be helped by Amma/the Creator.

So we're calling for grace,
For Amma's grace,
The Creator's grace,
To fill us with just the most expansive love and joy of living,
To remind us that we're eternal beings and these little difficulties on the earth plane that feel so big are just part of a dream and we're learning and we're loved beyond any possible measure that we could imagine.
Amma's love for us,
For those who know Amma,
Is just so off the charts.
Over the years of spending time with Amma,
You gradually wake up to how much she loves you.
Yeah.
That's our learning,
To wake up to how much we're loved.
Yeah.
And may we get better and better at it and more and more devoted to this way of living.
And so it is.
Yeah,
It does happen.
It's drip by drip by drip.
You just start understanding how deeply you're loved.
And if you're lucky to have a teacher like Amma,
It's like,
I mean,
She's in the physical,
We get physically reminded.
But really,
If somebody didn't know any teacher,
They could experience this over the course of their lives.
In lots of ways,
That's what wisdom is.
As a person develops,
They start realizing how deeply they're loved,
That this universe is love-based.
Right.
Okay.
Just want to check that,
Is there anything,
A question or anything pressing that somebody wishes to speak about before we start?
Okay,
Good.
What I—well,
Good either way.
But what I want to speak about is,
It's around learning how to be.
Giving yourself room to be.
So,
As we all know in our culture,
There's this great focus on doing,
Doing,
Doing.
And for us to be,
I don't know,
Vehicles of action.
I mean,
We have roles,
We have duties.
Things are speeding up so quickly that lots of times there doesn't feel like any room to do anything other than just meet all the obligations.
I mean,
This is the great sadness of what's happening with motherhood in our culture.
It's becoming,
In the West,
It's becoming a to-do list.
And the whole being aspect of motherhood and their relationship with the child is getting lost.
This is what's going on with us in our culture.
And as a result of that,
Like I've said,
We're losing our values,
And there's this disrespect of humanity growing.
Because really,
We're like flowers.
We need tending.
Little children need time and attention from their mother,
Both parents.
And then that helps them blossom as individuals.
And I talked about how the latest brain,
The prefrontal lobe,
Starts developing at birth.
And those years of zero to six are so important for what kind of human beings we're growing.
Because,
You know,
You guys,
If we don't get something in childhood,
Like if you don't experience love in childhood,
You basically have two choices.
You lose your freedom in your action.
As you grow,
You just stick within the confines of your conditioning.
Or you go through an awakening and experience the pain of being so locked into this way of living,
Being the cost of refusing to allow love in,
And you learn to gradually change how you live.
You allow growth.
You listen to your heart.
But,
You know,
For the bulk of humanity,
You know,
If they don't get it in childhood,
They just don't know about it.
I mean,
That's why people just would walk past Jesus or walk past somebody who's sick on the street without helping.
Because in their young years,
They didn't get that training in being a heart expansion.
So,
The way we're going is the way the creator wants it to go.
It's not wrong.
It's just a step on our journey.
You know,
The step of this is where humanity is.
Humanity is where humanity is.
And it's a learning.
You know,
Once you receive love,
What Premasuddha talks about is so easy to understand.
It's like two plus two equals four.
Before you receive love,
You might struggle with some of what Premasuddha says and go like,
Well,
That doesn't compute.
How does that work?
What's the logic in there?
Not seeing the logical steps,
Not seeing how Premasuddha got to where she's speaking from.
You have to receive love,
You guys.
Okay,
This is the rub.
This is why you come to satsang like on a deeper level.
Your souls really want you to receive love.
Right.
Right.
And it is uncomfortable.
I mean,
It's glorious,
But it upsets the existing apple cart.
It's interesting,
You guys.
There's a big step and it's around the clearing of the solar plexus energy.
We'll just be with it.
You know,
Something beyond us does this.
You know,
When we're changing stuff,
We might have a sleepless night.
Yesterday,
Before yesterday's satsang,
I woke up at 12 and I was up between 12 and 5 and feeling really edgy,
Going like,
This is hard work.
Made myself a couple of cups of tea,
Sat with it and everything,
And then had a breakthrough.
Then I went to sleep.
And then was prepared for yesterday's satsang.
That's how it works.
And during the five hours,
It was very uncomfortable.
But it's kind of glorious,
Too,
Because I mean,
I've been through this so much that,
You know,
I know the endings.
It's worth it.
I'm wanting you to live a little bit more the way Prama Siddha lives.
It's like,
Live right in that place where you're on the cusp,
Right on the cusp,
Where you're always working with receiving love.
That's your point of focus.
You don't have to do this.
It's like,
It will just get brought to you if it's meant for you to live this way.
And you don't even have to live fully that way.
You can just open the door to live a little bit more this way.
You're going to get sleepless nights anyway,
So you might as well.
You know,
Being focused on learning how to let love in.
It almost,
You know,
This always is kind of chronic.
It always feels taboo to Prama Siddha,
And it is.
And I'm working within you about this taboo level.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It's like,
If it wasn't present when we were little kids,
It will feel taboo to do it.
It'll feel like,
You know,
Christopher Columbus sailing off in the new world,
Not being quite sure that he wasn't,
You know,
That the world wasn't flat and he was going to fall off the edge.
It's like Amma says,
Walking out on thin ice.
I don't want to make things too complex for you.
So,
I kind of want to come back to,
It's something about the spiritual journey.
So,
The way we've,
The way that's common with the spiritual journey is it's quite compartmentalized.
So,
We might,
You know,
Meditate,
Do our practice,
Turn up to satsangs,
Do all these things,
Even read spiritual books.
But we might be very compartmentalized in our actions.
It's sort of like the classic,
You know,
The guy who's head of a really huge church in well,
Whatever country,
And then being caught out doing stuff that's really unethical.
You know,
These guys,
I mean,
They are such good illustrations of what I'm actually talking about,
But the same thing happens on an individual level.
And this is what I really want to highlight.
If you're really on the spiritual journey,
All of your actions need to be informed by the Creator,
Basically,
By kind of higher ethical standards than is the norm,
Increasingly.
Right.
And this is where,
You know,
There's a bit of a compartmentalized,
A bit of a split.
It's like,
Well,
I'm spiritual,
But I'm,
I don't know,
I steal other people's tip money or something,
Because she was rude to me,
So I'm getting her back.
So,
I steal some of her tips,
You know,
That kind of stuff.
Or,
You know,
This is a,
It can be kind of an emotional topic,
Because you see,
What happens is many of us have got wounding to the base chakra,
So we feel that we won't be able to survive unless we fudge,
That we can't just live in truth,
We can't follow the Creator,
Because,
You know,
Here on the earth plane,
The reality is,
On the earth plane,
It's not safe,
And you have to,
Like,
Fight,
You know.
It's dog-eat-dog.
Okay,
This is what many people are running,
And it's true in a way,
Like,
I get it.
The thing is,
That if you really want to know what love is,
Then how you live,
It's the full deal.
It's every aspect of your life,
How you treat other people's,
You know,
How honest you are,
All these things.
It's like learning to live like Amma,
Learning to live like Jesus,
Like really doing it,
As much as possible.
You can't,
You know,
It can't be forced,
You have to grow into it.
There's a visceral component that happens,
So,
You know,
If Prema Siddha is at a store and I get too much change back viscerally,
I have to tell the person.
I physically cannot walk away,
Unless I want to walk away feeling tremendously upset.
Yeah,
It's like a visceral thing,
And that's what happens when you really embody truth.
You really cannot act in adharmic ways.
That's really how it happens.
You know,
Gandhi said,
Basically,
He said,
You have to go along with the rules of the society.
He said,
You know,
You can fight,
Fight before something is made into law,
Like really battle it,
Stand up,
But once it's made into law,
Gandhi said,
You're kind of obligated to go along with it.
These are all things,
You know,
To contemplate,
Really to think about.
You know,
Prema Siddha's mind,
I mean,
I can have a tricky mind,
Like I can think of millions of ways to cheat,
You know,
Government,
Things like it,
But I just don't do it.
It might come across my mind,
But I can't do it.
It's like,
You know,
We're either embodying truth or we're not.
So,
You know,
You need patience with yourself,
Because it's an ongoing training.
It's an ongoing learning.
There have been times in my life where I acted very badly,
Unethically badly,
And,
You know,
There was,
The results were not good,
You know.
It was very good training.
You see,
You guys,
We all want to come together and get a high and get a nice buzz and everything and feel like we're spiritual and everything,
But,
You know,
It doesn't work like that.
We have to honor the truth,
Basically,
In every aspect of our lives.
You know,
People steal from Amma's bookstore and then take the book up to Amma for blessing.
I mean,
That's how confused people are.
Like,
The level of confusion to do that is very high.
And,
You know,
Every trick we pull,
I mean,
Amma knows.
The Creator knows.
You know,
It can be very scary sometimes to live this way,
Because,
Again,
Like I say,
Really,
Our base chakras,
A lot of us,
Or I won't say a lot of us,
That there's,
You know,
Can be wounding around whether it's really safe to be in truth or not.
But the thing is that if you walk this way,
The universe will support you.
And,
You know,
Really,
Even being aware,
If you do something that's a bit of a cheat or something,
Just being aware.
Okay,
This is really important.
Just be aware of how you feel and what your body does.
You could experiment.
Like,
I don't want to make it like a big Old Testament judgment or bad or good like that.
Not at all.
It's like,
Play with it.
Experiment.
Find out.
The thing is,
You see,
It can feel like,
Oh,
We're not safe on the earth plane.
We have to cheat a bit or act badly in order to get ahead in our careers or whatever.
And the thing is that on the bigger picture,
It's all one.
So whatever we're doing to another,
We are doing to ourselves.
And because we're doing it to ourselves,
One day it's going to come back to us.
Somebody will do exactly what we're doing.
They will do it back to us.
It's inescapable.
It will happen.
You just think about what you want to happen for you.
It's like,
You know,
Do unto others as you would have done to you.
It's really the safest way,
Because it means that your future walking,
You'll be unbothered by the returning karma of these things.
The,
You know,
I remember listening to a channel a couple of decades ago,
And it said there would come a time of tremendous confusion on earth.
And that's what I think is happening,
You know.
It's like just the confusion of how to walk the spiritual journey.
And the thing is,
You guys,
The really sad thing is,
Is so many people don't know what love is,
Have never felt love and compassion,
Never had an experience of it.
And when you start waking up,
And you're living in this world,
You know,
You get the experience of maybe feeling like you're not being treated well by people,
By others,
By the culture that does not know what love really is,
Doesn't know,
Has never had an experience of unconditional love in their lives.
So,
They just don't know.
And it takes a lot of courage to keep,
You know,
Steering towards the higher ground in everything you do in a culture where there are very few people who know about it.
But this is the training.
This is why in Kali Yuga,
You can move so quickly on the journey.
If you got the juice to move into truth in Kali Yuga,
When you're surrounded by just ignorance,
You get so many brownie points.
It's sort of like the poor kid,
You know,
Wants to go to school and they get like huge scholarships funding them the whole way.
Because it's just so amazing that they're coming out of this ignorance and poverty and developing in an educational way,
And they get like full scholarships in every direction.
It's the same principle.
It's just uncomfortable to do it.
I mean,
Pramasutra has been very uncomfortable as she's walked this.
I mean,
My goal is to make it more comfortable for you guys.
You know,
The support of the satsangs.
Just support to act a little better than you would without them.
So,
One of the things that Pramasutra used to do was,
When I had some kind of conflict in the way I should act,
You know,
Where I felt I wanted to act in an ethical way,
In the best way possible.
And I just didn't know how to do that.
So,
Pramasutra would do this all the time.
I would go,
Okay,
Universe,
What is the highest good action here?
It's sort of like,
You know,
We get a choice.
We have a choice,
Yes or a no.
But this is what I really want to communicate to you guys.
In the middle of this yes and no,
There is space for the question of,
What is in my highest good?
And show me how to do that.
Yeah,
You have space.
You can take the space to do this.
It's really,
Really important.
There's a long story I could tell you,
But I don't want to because it's too long,
Where Pramasutra did this.
But it was about a bill I got,
And I could not pay it,
Like,
Physically.
I didn't have the money.
And second,
I was very uncomfortable about the fact that I was being billed for this at all.
And I was so uncomfortable with it.
So,
I sat with it.
I didn't pay it.
I sat with it.
And,
You know,
I spoke about it,
I remember,
To my mom this time.
I guess I was in my 30s.
And she said she'd pay for it.
And it was a significant sum,
But I was very uncomfortable with that.
I could not do that.
It was like,
I could feel it wasn't my highest good to just kind of let my mother take care of me,
You know?
Let mama solve it.
So,
I said no.
But I still didn't know how to deal with this problem.
And what happened was,
Somebody I hardly knew who was rich offered to pay for it.
And it felt good to me.
I felt like,
Okay,
I can allow that.
I was surprised at his offer.
I didn't expect it.
But I knew he could afford it.
And actually did solve it.
I thought it was like,
Okay,
This is the universe coming in and solving the problem for me.
So,
I could pay it,
Or it got paid with a full heart.
It's not a very clear example,
You know,
But it's kind of—okay,
Here's another one.
So,
Remember I told you after that breakdown,
I didn't have any money,
No place to live.
My sister said,
Come and live with her.
I got alarm bells about it,
But I didn't have any money,
And I didn't know what else to do.
So,
I went and did it,
And then ended up having a second,
Much worse breakdown.
Okay,
Now,
At this point,
If I got alarm bells about not to do something,
Even if I was totally impoverished,
That there seemed like no support,
I would just stand there with it.
So,
In that case,
I would say thanks to my sister,
But no thanks,
And I would just sit with having absolutely no money and not knowing what to do,
And let the universe present my path,
You know,
Just my highest good path,
Whatever it was.
This is what I'm talking about.
You do the highest good thing,
And it sounds iffy,
But it's very safe.
This is,
You guys,
It's really an important point because,
You see,
I'm trying to help you love yourself enough that you can see that you have choices,
Right,
And that the universe can support you into having an expanded life.
And even if,
You know,
You're in a situation where it's a work thing,
And something's happening over and over,
And it's really bothering you,
You feel like you're getting darkened,
It's like,
You could say,
Like,
What is the highest good way to handle this?
I know that,
You know,
Some of what I'm saying,
It must sound very nebulous to you.
I,
You know,
It's a higher way of living,
And that's why it sounds nebulous.
But we're not trained this way at all.
We're trained to be cogs in the wheel and just do the wheel.
So,
To actually step back and go,
Well,
What is my highest good?
What should I do here?
What is the highest good?
And really contemplate it.
You are saying that you are worth something,
That you're valuable just in yourself.
This is what I'm really wanting to communicate to you guys.
It matters.
Say you're a mom,
And you're cooking for the family,
And you're stressed,
And you're,
You know,
You're tired,
And cooking,
It's an unpleasant thing.
And at the same time,
You might have a vague sense that this isn't helping your family cooking like this,
That that energy is going into the food.
So,
You might go,
Okay,
What is my highest good here?
I have to cook,
I'm tired,
I'm stressed,
But I feel like this energy is going into the kids,
My husband.
What do I do?
Show me,
Show me,
Show me.
And then really be with it.
And experiment.
Right.
You know,
And it might be something as simple as just playing music when you're cooking.
It might be taking a half an hour meditation time before you start cooking.
It might be just laughing at yourself for how,
I don't know,
It's how stuck you feel.
But the universe,
If you ask the question of what is my highest good way to handle this problem,
The universe will give you the highest good solution.
And then follow it,
And then see what happens.
This is,
You guys,
This is moving into embodying it.
You see,
We can hear sad sayings till the cows come home,
But it's the action of embodying it,
Walking it.
And remember,
We don't have to be perfect.
You can bumble,
You can fall,
Like don't,
You know,
Don't get an Old Testament,
You know,
Miserable sinner thing going at all,
No matter what,
No matter what you've done,
Like,
Please.
I told you that I did something sketchy as a landlord,
You know.
Oh,
Well,
Lived and learned.
And when you live this way,
When you start really aligning your actions with your heart,
With your true nature,
You start feeling a lot more lighter and more powerful.
And something you will never say is,
You know what people say,
They'll go,
Well,
The reality is,
You know,
They'll be like,
Well,
I don't like working in this corporation,
You know,
They're unethical,
But they'll say,
But the reality is,
I have to pay my rent.
Well,
There are different ways to pay your rent.
There was a guy I read about whose dad was in the civil service in India.
And this man was unusually honest.
So,
You know,
So he'd start working as a civil servant,
And then in the office,
He'd see corrupt stuff going on.
And so he'd get,
He would be reposted.
You know,
He's a whistleblower,
So he'd get reposted.
So this man's childhood was spent following his father to these repostings.
Okay,
You know,
In the old days,
I would have thought,
Well,
That'd be my worst nightmare happening to just keep being reposted.
But now,
In my worst nightmare would be losing my ethics.
My worst nightmare would be,
You know,
Stopping being a whistleblower.
And so he had to move to different postings,
You know.
Oh,
Well,
If that's the cost,
That's the cost.
I know this is a really uncommon view.
But if we're to align with truth,
We either do it or we don't.
And the Creator knows everything.
And we never have to sell our soul.
We never do.
There are always different things we could do.
We just have to see it.
Or,
You know,
In this case,
The guy,
You know,
I guess he came to acceptance of,
Well,
This is how my life is going.
But,
You know,
Christ said,
Basically,
What good does it do to gain the world if you lose your soul?
Hold on to your soul,
No matter what.
If you don't have that,
You don't have anything.
I mean,
You can turn up to sad things,
But it's like you still don't have it.
And so this is along the lines of what I was going to say to you.
When you're bothered by something,
You know,
Don't compartmentalize it or go,
You know,
People will say,
Oh,
Just let it go.
It's like,
Maybe you shouldn't let it go.
Maybe you should really think about it,
Ponder it,
Struggle with it.
Take it to heart.
Okay,
So,
You know,
When I was 20,
And I've told you this,
I was coming,
My car needed,
I was driving up to Whistler,
The mountains,
And my car,
There was some trouble with the,
Anyway,
I had to get a new rubber something.
And the guy put it on too tight.
So,
I was driving down from Whistler,
And my car was idling at 30 miles an hour.
Like,
It was hair raising.
So,
I canceled the check to the,
This is in the old which is what the repair cost me,
Told them that I'd been idling at 30 miles an hour.
And,
You know,
Thought that was the end of it.
The gas station took me to court for this $1,
Despite my explanation.
And the judge,
It was in Squamish,
The judge found in the gas station's favor.
And I'm going,
Oh my God,
So I'm sitting with this.
When I'm a young woman,
Really,
I'm 19,
20,
Maybe 19.
I'm sitting with this.
I'm so upset about it.
I feel like I've gotten crucified.
I'm sitting with it.
I'm sitting with it.
And out of sitting with it,
I write an article for the newspaper about,
You know,
Just about this,
Just spilling exactly what happened.
And they print it and I make $150,
Which paid for the court costs on this,
You know,
The civic thing that I'd done.
And I felt like a million dollars.
I,
Like,
I was totally empowered.
It's that,
You know,
If I just sat with this judge siding with the thing and gone,
Let it go,
I just would have,
Like,
Felt scareder and less.
I couldn't compartmentalize.
I had to sit with it.
I sat with it for a month of discomfiture,
Like about this gas station or this judge doing this.
And then it just came to me to write this article.
And that turned into a huge step.
And it was published in a very well-read newspaper on a special page.
So this would have been seen by the court system in Squamish and by the Squamish Garage.
I mean,
It was just a slam dunk.
Don't disconnect from these things.
It's kind of like living in a wilder way.
Be true to yourselves.
Like,
If I hadn't followed through with that,
I wouldn't be here today speaking to you.
That was one of the things that really empowered my heart and where I felt,
Like,
Safer in this world.
And please don't be hard on yourselves.
And it takes time to live this way,
Okay?
Please,
Please,
Please,
Please,
You guys,
Don't force yourself.
Don't push yourselves with it.
Just hearing it.
Yes,
Please,
Just hearing it.
Whenever you have an unsolvable problem,
You know,
Just go like,
What's my highest good?
What is the highest good thing to do?
And really mean it.
This is living like,
You know,
The fool and the fairy tale.
Who just goes out to seek his fortune.
Does his best.
And it feels very vulnerable,
But the creator is behind it.
And,
You know,
If you don't live this way,
Then you're forever going to go like,
Okay,
I'm being trapped by life.
The reality is I'm just a little mouse in a mousetrap,
And there's nothing I can do except suck it up.
And that's not true.
Yeah.
This work,
You guys,
I'm really asking you to become full human beings.
And that is how you make spiritual progress.
I wasn't even,
You know,
Going after self-realization.
I was just living like this.
Really,
It's,
You know,
Even if there's a problem at work,
You just go,
What is my highest good to deal with this?
And then you open up to all kinds of extra information.
Because usually what we have is we either submit or we rebel and get crushed.
Okay,
This is what happens.
Do you see this?
We submit or we rebel and get crushed.
It happened,
You know,
Through the COVID even.
People submitted to various vaccines.
Some people rebelled and usually they got crushed.
Like the doctors had to get,
The government then turned and said,
Okay,
Doctors have to get COVID vaccinations.
You don't have a choice.
But if in there you go,
What is my highest good?
There was a doctor I saw and he basically stepped out of his profession for the period where he had to have a COVID inoculation.
He just stepped away from his profession for a couple of years.
And he could live with that.
Otherwise,
He couldn't live with it.
He ended up doing kind of a locum thing where to keep the,
You know,
Keep his money coming,
Which was,
He could do that with not getting a COVID thing.
And I don't know how it worked out.
But this is kind of what I'm saying to you.
The universe will give you,
Um,
Something will happen.
Like it will give you a pathway to go.
You won't be left.
You're never alone.
You will be helped.
I'm just,
And some of you guys,
You need to walk very slowly on this,
Okay?
Because it takes practice and you have to learn how to be sturdy enough to live this way.
It's not done overnight.
You build it.
But as you live this way,
Your vibration will go up,
Your love power will go up,
And your spiritual understanding will go up.
And a lot of,
Okay,
The good news,
A lot of little things will no longer bother you.
The little irritations,
You just,
You just so outgrow them.
It just doesn't bother you at all.
It's like,
You know,
The day that the,
The property manager left his tub on in my whole place,
Closets got flooded with this water on the day before I was leaving,
And I was unbothered,
Truly.
It's like,
Oh,
Well,
Here we are.
And I'll tell you,
This guy,
Mark,
Has been my biggest fan.
He just adores me now because I didn't fuss.
And I'll tell you,
He has never,
I know this guy has never had an experience of that kind of compassion or kindness.
And he just didn't know what to do with it,
With the fact that I wasn't hysterical about all this.
And he's been my devoted servant ever since,
Truly.
It's like,
Oh,
My goodness.
I just want you to experiment more with your life.
I want you to,
Like,
Have it,
Let it be a little wilder,
You know,
Little more maneuvering room.
You're not hostage.
You're not a rat in a rat trap.
You know,
Lots of times when we don't take our choices,
Our bodies will make the choice for us.
So,
We'll get sick to get out of a situation.
Or,
You know,
We might get very uncomfortable with anxiety,
With,
You know,
Our soul letting us know that it's not comfortable with us living this way.
Yeah,
You guys,
With the spiritual journey,
Please realize it's the journey of embodying your true nature.
It's not a theoretical thing.
And it's the most challenging thing to really put your life on the line and make choices,
You know,
And take responsibility for them.
You know,
Going,
Okay,
I'm getting this guidance to do this.
Okay,
I'm going to do this.
You know,
I'm sure it would be possible to hear this talk and to actually feel angry.
The anger would be because the ego just does not want this to be dealt with.
It's like going,
No,
No,
No,
No,
No,
No,
Don't,
Don't go there.
No,
No,
No,
No,
No,
Because going,
You know,
Following this would,
Would decapitate your ego,
Really.
It's nice.
You know,
When you get the highest good thing to do,
Too,
You don't know the benefits.
Like,
It was so strong in me to drive up to the Arctic Ocean after COVID,
You know,
It's like,
I'm like,
Oh,
It's going to cost money.
But man,
I had to do it.
I went,
Okay.
It was obviously my highest good thing.
And really,
You guys,
I mean,
It was a big adventure and everything.
But really,
The heart of it was I got up really north.
And I remembered a past life when I lived in the north.
As a native woman,
I had six,
Six boys.
And I was really big on forgiveness.
But I refused to forgive people who did not forgive.
It's so stupid.
It's just so stupid.
Intolerant about people who were,
You know,
Having a forgiving attitude.
Okay,
That was crucial for me to get for my journey.
There were some,
There were several things like that,
Where if I hadn't done it,
I probably wouldn't have remembered that life.
Yeah.
And,
You know,
If you're in a situation where you don't like,
You don't have that kind of flexibility,
Maybe you,
You know,
You're working or money's tighter.
I mean,
I slept in my truck a lot.
I didn't spend money.
So there are ways to do things.
But just be,
Just be where you are.
Like,
It's all good.
It's all good.
I have the,
Okay,
I have the feeling,
Okay,
This is part of the key.
I have the feeling of untying a knot of wool.
It's untying this wooly thinking about what the spiritual journey really is.
We get wooly.
We go,
Okay,
I'm praying,
But I'm going to like steal this,
I don't know,
Bottle of water.
No.
No,
It has to be really aligned.
No wooly thinking.
We need the clarity of the dawn of day,
The light of day,
The clarity of truth.
That's what I'm wanting,
You guys.
Our culture is getting so wooly.
We're getting so confused.
Okay.
The light of day,
The light of truth,
The dawn of a deeper truth.
Right.
This will help you connect to the roots of your being.
And to our conditioning,
It might be very scary.
And the more corrupt we grew up in,
The scarier it will be to move into truth,
But it's doable.
But what happens,
You guys,
Is you start joining this.
There are people all over the earth who are waking up to this material.
So what happens is you find each other,
Like in a satsang like this,
Or just in your day,
You will have some kind of encounter with somebody,
Like a stranger maybe,
Who gets it.
And you have this really meaningful encounter.
And you start feeling less alone.
You start feeling like,
Yeah,
There are people in this world waking up.
Right.
Right.
It's almost like,
You know,
The people waking up are coming out of the woodwork and showing themselves.
But do you notice,
If you do something that's unethical,
You'll feel kind of heavier and slimy,
Really,
If you pay attention.
And you will feel that the air that you breathe,
That it's not as clear,
That it's got pollution in it,
Really.
If you pay attention,
It's that visceral.
And just do your best with this.
Like,
You know,
Take it seriously,
But do your best.
Like,
Take it sincerely,
But do your best.
And if you can't,
Or you fall down,
Or you repeat something,
Oh,
Well,
Just keep at it.
Like the sculpture making,
Sitting in front of an ugly rock,
Chipping away,
Chip,
Chip,
Chip,
Chip,
Chip,
Chip,
Chip,
Chip,
And gradually validate what I'm saying to you.
It's like when you personally can validate what I'm saying to you,
It's yours.
Before you do that,
It's kind of like a dogma.
It's kind of like,
Well,
Maybe it's true,
Maybe it's not.
I don't know.
It's not my experience.
I don't know.
No,
You have to experiment and personally validate it.
It's the only way it will work.
And this is,
Again,
What spiritual people in our culture so often don't want to do.
They don't want to validate stuff because that's risky.
But if you don't validate it,
Then you never get the knowledge.
Yeah,
You cannot escape your dharma,
Which is to embody your true nature.
The only person who can do it is you.
Nobody else can do it.
People who've done it can support you,
Talk about it,
But bottom line is your choice.
And if you can't do it,
Be gentle with yourselves.
I mean it,
You guys.
If you can't do it,
You can't do it,
And just be with not being able to do it.
Please,
This is the secret,
Just be with where you are.
You have permission to just be where you are.
You can even refuse to do it,
And then just see what that feels like.
Don't put an Old Testament thing on this.
Experiment.
And Pramasutra is not judging you.
I'm just a trainer,
So when you come around me,
I will train you.
I will,
You know.
That's all.
I'll just keep telling you what works and what doesn't.
That's it.
That's it.
You guys,
It's really good.
I'm feeling you're finding your feet in this light.
Yeah,
Because like as a trainer,
I mean the people I got close to are the people who are doing it.
It's like Amma says,
People get close to her by knowing her inside them.
The more you know Amma inside you,
The closer you get to her as a person.
I really don't want you guys to give yourself a bad time at all.
You know what's good is you trust me on this.
I can feel this,
That you trust me when I'm saying like,
It's all good.
Just be with where you are.
Like when I say that,
I can see you guys tapping into the roots of your being.
It's so like this.
It's like,
You know,
When you're a mom and you're a little kid,
I mean the little kid will try to walk and you just encourage,
You don't get in there really.
The child's in their own process.
You know,
You go,
Yay,
Keep going,
But you don't manage it.
You don't micromanage a little child learning to walk.
It's the same with the spiritual journey.
It's loose.
I'm holding you.
I'll give you feedback about whether you're on track or not.
If you're being really stubborn,
I'll get tougher.
I get tougher because a spiritual teacher feels very deeply stuff that's a dharmic,
So it gets uncomfortable.
It's easier to spend time with people who are moving into truth than with people who are resisting it.
But sometimes we all resist it,
And any teacher knows that.
Sometimes we have to go through a period of throwing a temper tantrum.
It's okay.
This is a great gift of Pramasutra.
It's like a long tumultuous journey.
It's like,
You know,
Pramasutra is very patient with people.
It's patient with myself.
It's only when somebody's refusing to look at something that I'll get tough.
Yeah,
It's like just bumbling into it,
You guys.
You know,
When children are really loved,
They instinctively know how to share.
They don't have to be taught sharing or taught empathy.
You take care of a kid zero to six.
They'll just have empathy.
They'll just share.
It's around,
Like,
I don't know,
Two and a half,
Whatever age,
Or three,
They just start sharing happily.
You know,
Around two,
They won't.
So,
If you're forcing a kid to share at age two,
You are hurting that child.
But just let the child develop a little bit,
And they'll start sharing freely.
It's the same with us,
You guys.
On the journey,
You just,
There's stages.
And no teacher wants to push.
It's like,
Don't force a two-year-old who's just getting a sense of me and not me.
Don't force that child to share.
Let them be figuring out me and not me.
Three,
They'll just start sharing.
This is where,
You guys,
We manage so much.
Like,
Norway or Denmark or something,
They're doing classes teaching kids empathy and everything.
And I'm like,
Sure,
That's great.
But if kids were well-bonded,
Zero to six,
They wouldn't need these courses.
And I remember at a,
You know,
Being at one of the retreats,
And I was short of money.
And I needed five cents or something.
And I said,
Does anybody have five cents?
And this woman,
She thought about it.
She thought about it.
And then she said something like,
Yeah,
Amma would wish me to do this.
And I'm like,
Oh my goodness.
So,
It's really good that she,
You know,
Followed Amma.
But,
You know,
When you're really of the heart,
It's instinctive.
You just go,
Sure.
And that's what the empathy classes for kids made me think of.
But,
Sort of stopping and going like,
Oh,
Yeah,
Okay,
This is my duty.
I said,
Anyway,
Yeah.
You love children well,
They'll be empathic.
They will be,
They will share.
Yeah.
It's so simple.
We miss it,
You guys.
I am so grateful you come up.
Yeah,
I'm just so grateful you turned up for these,
You guys.
Really,
It gives me meaning to my life,
You know,
To share it,
To share it.
Yeah.
It's the,
It's a big difference to being,
You know,
Just somebody who knows this and not being able to share,
To share it.
And I'd say,
I'm sharing it because,
As it,
I can share it,
You know,
Because I fought all these battles,
You know.
So,
The result is that I could share it.
I'm not just walking around with the theoretical knowledge about it.
Yeah.
But,
Truly,
I'm so grateful.
Any questions or comments?
We've got a little bit of time.
I have about 10 minutes before I have to go.
But,
Yes,
I just kind of want to leave you with everything matters.
Every moment matters,
You know.
I only want to say thank you so much.
It was very good for me.
Thank you so much.
Who's that?
Renate.
Oh,
Good.
Yes.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Well,
I'm aware that,
You know,
These topics aren't really addressed,
I don't think.
So,
Thank you for the feedback.
It was very good.
Yeah.
Thank you.
I think it needs to be said,
Too,
But,
You know,
This is my life,
You know.
Yeah.
There's a very light feeling that comes when you live in truth and ethics.
But,
Please avoid doing something because,
Out of a miserable sinner energy,
You know,
Like,
Yeah,
Try to walk forward and just make these decisions moment by moment.
What is the highest good?
What is the highest good?
What is the highest good?
Yeah.
And the universe loves this.
And the universe will start to flood you with information.
It'll start flooding you with a higher understanding.
And,
Again,
Just the last thing is,
You know,
It isn't only questions of ethics.
It's when you live in your life,
You will get choices,
And it will be like to repeat your conditioning or to do something else.
And when you're right at one of those cuspy points,
It's,
Again,
What is my highest good?
Keep asking that.
What is my highest good?
How do I handle this?
That will help you,
Support you not to repeat your conditioning.
It'll support you with a bigger perspective of what you can do,
Of choices.
So,
At these points,
What will happen is,
Often,
You'll get a memory of your childhood and something happening.
And if you look at your life,
You'll see that it's a repeat of your conditioning.
So,
Do you just go along with what you learned as a kid and just repeat it,
Or do you step into broader ground?
You step into outgrowing your conditioning.
And,
In a way,
This is the highest ethics of all,
Because we all know when we're repeating our conditioning.
Yeah,
You can't really fool your heart,
You guys.
You know you will feel smaller,
Darker,
More compressed,
More hopeless.
Yeah,
So,
Always,
You know,
What is my highest good?
What does my soul want to do here?
We'll talk more about this.
I,
You know what,
I'm feeling really proud of you guys.
Isn't this funny?
It's very motherly.
I'm feeling really proud of you guys.
The red color fits you very nice.
The red color is very nice.
Yeah,
I don't usually do bright colors,
But I got this was my highest good outfit.
You guys,
I even did it with my clothes.
It was like,
Okay,
What's my highest good?
I was uncomfortable with my choice.
I couldn't find things.
So,
I finally,
I finally,
Okay,
What is my highest good?
There you go.
There it is.
Okay,
Bless your dear hearts.
I'm with you all the time.
Yeah,
You guys are in my heart all the time.
Thank you so much for coming.
Okay,
Bye,
Bye.
Yeah,
Bye.
