In our busy lives, we often focus on doing and forget to rest. In Hinduism, all of nature is said to be composed of three fundamental qualities—called gunas: • Sattva – purity, clarity, harmony, balance • Rajas – passion, activity, drive; can also become overstimulation or restless energy • Tamas – inertia, stillness, resistance, or procrastination Each guna has its place. Just as nature needs winter to prepare for spring, we too need stillness to restore our energy. If we forget to rest, life will gently remind us when it’s time to slow down.

Some of you have your backs against the wall and you're faced with the need to surrender.

In fact,

This is many of you.

And some of you don't really know how to do it.

Please understand this,

You will be brought to it.

Okay,

It's like many of you need a rest.

And sometimes in our religiosity we feel we have to do,

Do,

Do,

Do.

Yeah,

It's the rest,

You know.

There are three stages of the human psyche,

You know.

It's like somebody is sattvic,

They're wise,

They're rajic,

They're busy,

Or they're tamasic,

Which means dullness and ignorance.

So the thing is,

Dullness and ignorance,

Many of us,

Our cultures are running from into the rajic approach,

Which is busy.

But we're losing the plot,

So in our,

We're losing our hearts,

So we're getting so rajic that we're actually creating more tamas,

We're creating more dullness and ignorance.

It's like when we get so busy that it just becomes meaningless and exhausting.

That leads to a fall into tamasic energy.

It's like somebody who is,

You know,

A professional,

But they're not taking care of themselves,

And they fall in,

They're not taking care of themselves emotionally,

And they fall into homelessness.

You know,

They start drinking or whatever,

And fall into homelessness.

So many of us have kind of a fear of this tamasic energy,

But,

You guys,

It's also where Mother Nature rests and pulls in.

You know,

It's like wintertime,

Doesn't look good,

Nothing's happening,

But there's a lot of transformation.
