In a way, our experience of life colours how we perceive God. Even people in the same family might have different religions, as a reflection of the ways our lives have gone. Maybe it is useless to fuss or fight about this and our energy is better spent focusing on our own selves and the way we live our lives. A truly loving person graces the earth and the hearts of everybody alive on it. That is real power, to be able to do this.

In this video,

The topic is a look at religion and spirituality via a close look at a family.

In this family,

There are four grown-up siblings,

And the eldest is a woman,

And she is the only one who belongs to an organized religion.

And the one she's chosen is,

It's very big,

But she's chosen a very strict aspect of it.

So it's a smaller sect of this bigger religion,

And it's very strict.

And she's very happy with that,

Because it gives her a clear idea of right and wrong,

Which she follows,

And so it makes her feel safe.

And I think,

Then she doesn't have to think,

But that's my own personal spin on it.

The second person once belonged to a fundamentalist religion,

And left after 30 years.

And this person is basically atheist,

Because they just got so OD'd on the idea of the Creator,

They just got so contaminated by what was going on in this fundamentalist religion,

That they just walked away from the whole thing.

The third person in the family is a scientist,

And she's very oriented towards the science that validates the concrete reality.

So she limits her thought processes and contemplations to what can be proven in a concrete way.

Of course,

Really,

Science and spirituality meet in the higher levels,

You know,

Beyond just the concrete.

We know that everything's made out of energy,

And scientists would be happy with that.

And a spiritual person would say,

Yeah,

That's God.

So there's no real argument.

And the fourth person in the family is a fellow,

And he's just,

He's a humanist.

He loves humanity with a really extraordinary compassion.

And he serves all humanity with his life.

He just expresses kindness and compassion just really every minute of the day.

And he's an inspiration to know.

He says,

You know,

Everybody's part of God,

No matter what they're doing.

And he believes in,

You know,

That we've had other lives.

So he says,

You know,

We've all acted badly in other lives.

You know,

The sages say,

You know,

We come,

We have lives to experience all possible experiences in order to grow.

And that this is a dream.

So then the whole idea of bad and good become a little softer with that expanded viewpoint.

And he talks about Mother Teresa and how she,

You know,

Picked up all the people who were just so sick and so neglected and abandoned off the streets in India,

And took them back and cared for them.

And she would teach the people who were training with her,

Who were helping her,

That each one of them was the Christ.

And indeed,

Christ did say,

As you treat the worst of you,

That's how you treat him.

So I just wanted to spotlight just in this family,

The different ways that these individuals who both had the same parents have organized their lives.

And you know,

In the East,

They'd say,

We're all aspects of the divine.

And we're all here with our own individual idion Socratic viewpoint.

And we're here to do the work that no other person could do,

That each one of us has a gift to give just by being themselves.

And that we do give it.

We do end up giving it,

Either this life or next life.

But we do.

We learn.

So it's all got a happy ending.

Anyway,

I just wanted to say all this.

You know,

Have a look at the weave of humanity and yeah,

Okay,

Bless your hearts.
