Hi,
And welcome to The Daily Insight.
My name is Chantal Diaschina,
And today we are going to focus on expanding our individual perception to include that of the universal perception,
In hopes of remembering that we can't always know all of the answers,
Nor can we always control our situation,
But rather we need to allow the mystery to move through us.
And that takes a certain amount of humility and trust and faith.
And I hope this meditation reveals these virtues already within you.
Enjoy.
Sitting comfortably,
With your spine straight,
Chin parallel to the floor,
Hands on your lap,
Or maybe in your favorite mudra,
We're going to begin by simply noticing your breath as it is,
Noticing the sensation of the breath as it enters through the nostrils,
Travels down into the lungs,
And then back out through the nose.
Simply feeling the sensation of the breath,
And see if you can track its travels in and out of the body.
And from here,
If you are familiar with abdominal breathing,
I invite you to begin expanding the belly on every inhale breath,
And contracting the belly toward the spine on every exhale breath.
And if this is not familiar to you,
Then just continue breathing,
Trying to ensure the breath is deep,
Steady,
Slow.
Begin to use every exhale breath as a cue for the body to relax.
So feeling the crown of your head,
Feeling the sensations as you relax on every exhale breath,
Feeling the scalp relax,
Exhaling to relax the brow line,
Exhaling to relax the muscles around the eyes,
Relaxing the back of the skull,
The ears,
Relaxing the cheeks,
The nose,
The jaw,
The tongue is resting down off of the roof of the mouth,
Relaxing the base of the skull,
The neck,
The shoulders,
The upper back,
The upper chest,
The arms,
Relaxing the hands and fingers,
Relaxing the middle of the chest,
The middle of the back,
The ribs,
Relaxing the abdomen,
The lower back,
Relaxing the hips,
The pelvis,
Relaxing the thighs,
The hamstrings,
Relaxing the knees front and back,
Relaxing the lower legs,
The shins and the calves,
Relaxing the ankles,
The feet,
And the toes.
Turn your attention back to the breath,
Keeping the long,
Steady,
Drawn out breathing pattern,
Allowing the body to settle into this meditation,
Feeling fully present in the body,
Recognizing you in fact are not the body,
That this body is a vehicle to enjoy life,
To experience all that it means to be human,
Drawing your awareness beyond the body to the silent,
Calm place within,
Sensing its formlessness,
Its pervasiveness,
And its intelligence.
This is the mystery within you.
It flows through you.
It guides you always to your highest and greatest good.
It is beyond human comprehension.
You are that.
Taking a moment to settle into this mystery that is within you,
Also known as the silent observer,
Feeling it pulsate throughout the entire body,
Feeling it penetrate all physical boundaries between your physical body and the environment.
Allow that presence to expand.
Every inhale breath,
Feel this presence expanding more and more.
Wherever you go,
This mystery is a part of you.
And this same mystery is in every living thing,
Encouraging it to grow,
To flourish,
To thrive.
This great mystery within you and with everything is life giving,
Life supporting.
And if you allow this force to guide you,
To move you,
What may seem challenging or uncomfortable,
What may seem unfair,
You will see will help you to become a physical expression in its completeness of this great mystery.
So that the personality that you wear day in and day out is a reflection of this beautiful great mystery that is powered by love.
It is most often during these chaotic times in our lives that if we acknowledge we cannot operate as an individual and that our personalities can only do so much,
It is that letting go and falling into what seems like the darkness,
That the great mystery within us and around us reveals itself even if it's only a glimpse.
You may hear these subtle whispers,
These internal nudges that will guide you to your healing,
To your wholeness.
If you surrender and you allow yourself to lean back on that great mystery within you,
You will not only feel but you will know that you are loved and cared for and that everything is going to be okay,
That you are going to be okay.
Even in the most difficult times,
It is through these acts of faith,
Through the surrender of knowing you cannot do this alone,
That you are able to see and experience all that you truly are.
And in this awareness and through those deep and dark struggles,
It allows you to see yourself in others,
To understand the level of suffering causing the behaviors that you observe.
And when you see other individuals who seem to be lacking in love,
Compassion,
Connection,
It is only an indication of the static interfering with the great mystery's ability to express itself through that personality.
And through the wisdom of allowing yourself to go into those dark spaces,
It allows you to respect the journey that others are on and to be more compassionate while holding the space that they too meet the mystery that resides within them.
May they know that they too are deeply loved and cared for.
May they no longer be afraid to surrender and allow that great mystery to guide them to their healing,
To their wholeness.
Having come to this understanding,
We can hold the space for others.
We can resist the temptation to fix it for others.
We can speak fewer words,
But more meaningful and powerful words as we allow the great mystery to speak through us,
To act through us so that we too may be life-giving,
Life-supporting,
So that we may look to our brothers and sisters and see not just their physicality,
But to feel the connection that is between us and all living things so that we may exist in harmony with each other and with our planet.
Bringing your attention back to the breath,
Inhaling deeply,
Exhaling completely,
Feeling the boundaries of the body,
The boundaries that separate the internal environment from the external environment,
Feeling present in your vehicle for this life.
Inhaling deeply,
Exhaling completely,
Inhaling deeply,
Exhaling completely,
Still feeling that great mystery pulsating within.
Keeping the gaze down at the floor,
Slowly open the eyes,
The lid soft and relaxed,
And slowly lifting your gaze toward the horizon line in the room,
Looking around observing colors,
Shapes,
Textures,
Wiggling your fingers and toes,
And then allowing larger movements,
Moving the arms,
Releasing the legs,
Looking at your hands and your feet,
Your arms and your legs.
Remember to not let this physical body fool you.
You are not alone,
Disconnected.
You are a vehicle of a great mystery,
And your personality is here to serve that mystery.
I invite you to allow this awareness to follow you into your day,
To be present with others,
And to allow your thoughts,
Your speech,
And your actions to be life-giving and life-supporting.
Thank you for joining me.
May your day be filled with love and light.
Namaste.
