Hello and welcome to this self love meditation.
This meditation may be right for you if you're feeling a lot of negative emotions towards yourself,
Your body or your capabilities right now,
Particularly if you're experiencing chronic illness,
Either physical or mental.
Make yourself comfortable,
You can be lying down fully or sitting on a chair,
On the sofa or on the floor.
Choose a place that's right for you.
Take this time to make any adjustments to your positioning so that you can be still for a while,
But remember if you need to move during the meditation,
Feel free to do so.
Now I want you to close your eyes and melt into the surface beneath you.
Start taking several slow,
Long,
Deep breaths.
Breathe in and fill your lungs with air and breathe out and completely empty your lungs.
Breathe in and fill a blanket of calm.
Breathe out and release any unwanted sensations.
Keep breathing here.
In,
Calm.
Out,
Release.
You may be in pain,
Feel exasperated,
Hopeless,
Overwhelmed,
Frustrated,
Feeling negative emotions.
All of these feelings are valid and you are incredible for what you've been through.
It may not have been easy for you.
All of these sensations are acknowledged,
But as you breathe out,
They're released and dissolved.
Breathe in,
Calm.
Without your pain,
Frustration and any negativity.
You may want to sigh out deeply anything that's built up inside of you that's no longer wanted.
No matter how frustrated you're feeling towards yourself right now,
We're going to focus on embracing you with love.
You deserve to be loved.
You are loved.
You are an amazing human.
Now I want you to visualize the bright,
Powerful,
Beautiful golden light is penetrating through your head.
This light is pure love shining into every cell of your body.
Glitter as it flows through your head and down through your neck,
Your chest,
Shoulders,
Arms and hands,
Making every cell it touches begin to pulse and glow with love.
Through your tummy,
Your pelvis,
Down your thighs,
Your calves,
Your feet.
And every cell in your body shimmering in this glorious light.
The light slowly fades now,
But a tiny marble of new light appears in your heart center.
This is your own love for yourself.
It's slowly pulsing,
But it's beginning to grow.
Begin to feel a sense of appreciation for your body and all that it can do for you every day.
In your mind,
Finish this sentence,
I can.
For example,
I can breathe.
I can.
What are you grateful for?
What can your body do?
What does your body do for you every single day that you don't always notice?
I can.
As you repeat this list of things you're grateful for about your body and about yourself,
This glowing sphere of light in the center of your heart continues to grow.
A nourishing bubble of love slowly expanding from your heart until it covers your whole body in a golden orb of love.
This is your innermost deep love for yourself,
Your protection from any unwanted feelings,
Emotions,
Thoughts or factors in your environment.
You are safe in your own sanctuary of love.
Stay with this feeling for a few more moments.
This bubble of love will remain here to protect you.
Now start to notice how you're breathing.
Notice your in-breath and your out-breath.
Start to become aware of any sounds in the environment that you're in.
Feel how the surface beneath you is embracing you.
There are the points of contact.
Start to wiggle your fingers and toes.
Stretch if you want to.
And whenever you're ready,
You can slowly open your eyes,
Remembering how much you truly love yourself.
